scents like this, white, light scents, usually have no throw on me, and are absorbed into my skin within the first 5 minutes. That isn't happening here, and I'm so glad! This is lovely and cheering. I would wear this to work, I would wear this to a funeral, i could wear this to wedding. this is an excellent all around scent. i could see this becoming a signature for someone.... i'm glad to finally have a white scent i can wear what does it smell like? fresh tea, linden, and a soft blonde wood. this scent is barely sweet, and has a lot more body than either it's site description, or my description, makes you think it would. this series, for me, is quickly becoming the series of scetns that i usually can't wear, but can for a change of pace! n.

like most aquatic scents, this one is very soapy - but less so than most… wait… I'm actually getting a water scent -- it's like brine and it's… outdoorsy and breezy… huh. Maybe I'll keep this one! Dude! An aquatic that works on me!!! kelp and salt and violets. wow. this is really pretty. i can't believe i am wearing and *liking* an aquatic scent. beth never ceases to amaze me. so, yeah, if you can't wear aquatics, try this one. ETA: today i wore this to work, and it was quite lovely, but faded after about two hours. i recommend reapplication, or slathering! i can't decide if i'll swap it, but i think not. it really is just lovely, even if my skin won't hold it. n.

whoa, this is sexy! Much more elegant and refined than I had imagined it to be, for some reason. This is a woman in control, fully capapble, with a big Do Not Fuck With Me sign, and she's all curves from top to bottom. Everything blends together so well, that i can't pick out a single moment. i want to see if i reach for it again, but wow. this is an amazing scent. i wonder if i can pull it off. note: this is the first time violets have actually stuck to my skin. this may be a serious keeper. another odd thing: on me this is definitely a skin scent. you have ot get close to really smell it. i kind of like that about it. i go for the more "close" kinds of love-torture anyway so close, yet so far! hmmmmm. ETA: i just wanted to say that my next order will contain 5ml of this. i've worn it twice and it makes me feel incredibly sexy. Wanda gets two thumbs up! n.

Lenore, Lenore, how i have waited for you! and my wait has not been in vain. i was so worried, dear Lenore, that when you arrived at last upon my doorstep, that i would foolishly reject you due to factors beyond my control. today however, is not that day, and when your gorgeous dark complexity, met my picky skin chemistry, you shifted over and over, tubmling through your notes as a leaf tumbles on the wind. first you were smoke, then musk, then a strong hit of vertiver that lasted for a full 5 minutes and now: you are earthy, smoky, spicy and dark. you have a touch of ripe sweetness, never cloying, but rich like wine -- it rolls under the surface of the other notes, much like dessert wine rolls over my tongue. and yet your throw is not overpowering. 2 inches away and i smell the thyme, 1 inch away and i smell spice, half an inch and i smell smoke, and that the skin: i smell everything so smoothly blended that i cannot tell what is what. Lenore, you are mysterious, and complex. you are not for the faint hearted. i cannot even say if you smell "good" or not, but you do smell absolutely compelling. i have no idea where to wear such a scent, i just know that i have to. n.

in the bottle, Alone was pure cardomom, and i looooove that spice. i put it in lots of things, cookies, bread, meats, granola.... sadly however, on me, Alone aquires a strange, almost fake/plastic smell. it is reminiscent of ... Big Red gum somehow, with a dusky undertone that i recognize from other scents that have pepper in them, of all things. i'm really sad this didn't work on my skin chemistry. n.

this is lovely and light. We'll see if it has any staying power -- but this could be a winner for spring days, or days for being reminded of spring. n.

in the imp the first thing i smelled was babypowder. that's usally enough to make me retch, but i was brave and tried it on anyway. as it dried on my skin, the pale, powdery scent, began to blossom into something exotic, sensual and womanly. i keep sniffing my wrist, trying to identify what it is i'm smelling -- something akin to orange or tangerine, but completely not. something like spices but sweet, it's light yet it's dark. i can't pick out any individual notes in this at all. just a few minutes ago i was only half convinced, but now... i think... i think i might be falling in love. we'll have to see how often i reach for the imp, but. this is very complex! not a scent for a minimalist. i'd like to wear this to a romantic dinner. i feel elegant in this. elegant, and mysterious. n.

you know, with the mosses and the ambergris, I'd expect this to be minty and earthy. Instead this is super light and almost a little soapy! A very cooooool mint. I'd love to wear this in the summertime. A possible springtime purchase to carry me through the hottest months of the year. n.

I can't tell if I like this one or not. In the imp it's ALMOND, but on the skin it becomes so complex. The almond is there, and so are spices and other things. I am confused and yet… mildly intrigued. But it's not hitting me over the head with the love. let's see if i end up reaching for it ever. n.

I love this in the imp! It is so fresh and gorgeous. It reminds me of driving Wisconsin on a moonlit night: tall prarie grasses, sweet fresh hay. It's just lovely. Sadly though, on me, it turns right into pencil shavings. Not my kink. This is the 13th BB scent i've tried, and not a single one has worked yet. n.

I keeps searching for a violet I can wear. However, this one just goes to prove that my skin sucks up violet. I know I don't amp vertiver, so I'm just sucking up the violet and wearing singlenote vertiver. I like vertiver, but not alone. Sadly, this one isn't me. n.

last night i dressed up as "Kali Dearest" -- sort of like the goddess Kali and Mommy Dearest all wrapped up in one. sadly, Kali doesn't work on my skin, so i wore DdlM instead layered over the last few drops i had of Centzon Totochtin. n.

at first, the apricot on this so intense i can practically taste it! that's great, because i love eating dried apricots -- but sadly, within 30 minutes this becomes a lightly fruited baby powder. and i hate baby powder. "another one bites the dust". n.

OMG! i was wondering what to do for a friend's bridal shower.... i could get her some sextoy item (i like the idea of the handcuffs or a nice riding crop),but i think i'll combine the sex and SM sets.... O DeSade Whip Perversion All Night Long Follow Me Boy n.

lavender? vanilla? wha? my Doves Heart smells more like a rose. a softly blooming rose, layered over some of the components that are found in High John the Conqueror. no matter what it smells of though, it is soft and comforting. there's a green herbal supporting this, along with touches of lemon. the lemon and herbs are closer to the skin, and the rose softly envelopes the area in the air. kind of like a fluffy rose blanket. i am sending it to a friend healing from a major loss in her life. i hope it turns out as lovely for her, as it does for me. n.

i'm doing this for my mom: one imp for places that she has visited, three of which we've gone to together n.

on everyone else: a pumpkin patch in the evening, mosses, woods... on me: dry rot. ah well. n.

i think my skin must hate wood. this one is sharp and acrid on me with a slight BO tinge to it. n.

upon first application, this smells of pure cider.... and then becomes crisp apples with a tiny bit of the cider/spices floating in the background. like i was at a farm stand where they sold both, and behind the counter was the cider, but right up under my nose was the apple. i can't believe that this actually works with my chemistry! i thought i'd end up swapping it away, but no! fab! what lovely autumny goodness! n.

i just want to say that before this halloween, i never thought of myself as foody perfume girl. i mean, who wants to smell like food. apparently, i do. SS'05 in the bottle smells like brown sugar and rum. i don't smell anything but those two things, and on me that continues with the scent of brown sugar wafting in the air about me, and getting more and more alchoholic as my nose gets close and closer to skin. some maple. this is really awesome! i'm nervous about wearing it to work due to the alcholoic content of it, but wow. this is really yum! n.

PPatch 2 strikes the perfect note between fruit and chocolate -- in fact, it's not even *fruit*. it's... it's so hard to describe this one! foody, but not cloying. sweet but not sugary. rich but not overwhelming. in some blends, the sweetness is so much that it seems to have fingers and hands with which to choke you. Gluttony is like that for me. just WAY too much! but here... it's sweet without making my teeth ache. it's chocolate but not powder, but not bar either. the nuts are there, but they just ground it, acting as a supporting base. it's comforting, yet sexy too. there's a toffeeness to it, but it's like if my skin were a toffee, rather than just a toffee candy. i really can't describe this one, other than to say you won't be getting my bottle in the swaps! n.

YES! i couldn't wear DdlM '04. it was terrible on me and i was sad. but i orded the '05 as hope springs eternal, and at last i can wear this scent. the '05 is on me, what it was on everyone else last year! sweet cactus blooms, whiffs of chocolate, tobacco. not too much smoke -- just enough to make this "rich". thank you, thank you, beth! i feel like channeling Etta James and singing "AAAAAAAAAT LAAAAAAAAST!" [ETA] today i wore DdlM 05 to work, she lasted all day, and even now i have the faintest whiff of chocolate and cactus flowers on my wrists. i realized today that DdlM05 on me, is what i had hoped Kali would be. Kali, sadly, goes to baby powder on me in about 15 minutes, but this.... oh! sooo beautiful. i will be either swapping for, or buying another bottle before Nov. 15. just gorgeous.

this was the PPatch that i had the highest hope for, and it doesn't disappoint. to me, the buttery Jack is overwhelming, and in the bottle i can smell some of that. but i put this on and the Pomegrantate just blossoms on my skin! it cuts through the butter and becomes all pomegrante with a supporting base of dark sweet pumpkin butter. somehow, the two of these mix to give just the tinist hint of spice too. i'm soooo glad that it works on my skin! hooray! not as fizzy as Swank, and more earthy than Persephone, i love this one! for pomegranate lovers only n.
