i continue to have skin chemistry that has a rule: if it's popular among my fellow forumites, it won't work on me. when i ordered this, i wondered what "thuggish musk" would be like. now i know: it's what i smell like when i wear Devil's Night -- a sweaty frat guy. MMMMM! :rolls eyes: n.

intensly sweet in the bottle, it smells like jasmine to me! On me, wet, it's still that intense jasmine, but slowly that calms down and it becomse spicy and deeper. I wore it last night, but will try it again during the day to see how long she lasts. lovely! my only concern is that it seemed to fade quickly, but that may be just that i couldn't tell. i'm defintiely going to give this another run, and if she lasts more than an hour, i'm getting a bottle. an african queen! oh, so happy! n.

too much incense. All incense actually, and just not me. Lovely if you like that, and I bet it'd be a beautiful room scent. i'm discovering that i amp frankinscense. which is lovely, but a bit... much sometimes. n.

i never had the '04 version. opeing the bottle i smell the roses very faintly. this is one of those scents that i can't smell in the bottle for some reason. weird! on: rose rose rose for the first 45 minutes or so. i don't mind that, because i love rose. then slowly, i start to smell the resins. they get stronger and stronger as the rose gets weaker. after about 2-3 hours, all i can smell is frankinsense and it is now 100% gone. i'm not sure what i think of this. i'll be testing again, but i could see my BF doing really well with this one. n.

Creating BPAL Gift Packs with a Theme

Travel Set six or so Wanderlust imps, put into a traveling case of some kind with other sample size stuff so that they have an overnight bag ready to go... anywhere! Out in the Garden six or so RG scents, along with a trowel, a spade, and a pair of gardening gloves. n. -
gorgeous in description, and … that kind of scent that slips beneath my radar in the bottle. On me? It was reminicent of a wealthy woman's perfume -- but not very me. I want to say Coco Chanel for some reason, but I don't think I've smelled it in years. the point being: very much a "perfume". meh. i'll try it again to be sure, but most likely this one is not for me. n.

i really, Really, REALLY wanted to like this. but i don't. it's the second BPAL i've ever had to wash off, and the first i liked in the bottle, but not on me. in the bottle is was sour, and astringent, and on me it blossomed into a sharp urine scent combined with the sexfunk my skin makes of honey, and burning old wood. not in the nice way of burning wood, but the bad way of burning wood. i'm really sad about this, because i have been to Delphi and i have a pretty strong connection to it since my childhood. but, alas, this was not to be. n.

footnotegirl's review of this is dead on, though in the bottle i smell soapy roses and a whiff of urine. i was concerned. it hit the skin though and in thirty seconds the urine astringency was gone and i was left with roses that bloomed one after the other. first came the soapy rose, followed by florists rose, then a heritage rose, Lincoln rose, tea rose, wild rose... and so on and so forth. it was really quite amazing. my only complaint is that it lasted for about 2 hours on my skin. i'm not sure if i will keep it --but that's only because i have a plethora of roses coming into my life right now (Persephone! ROse Red! Peacok Queen!). but rose oil tends to age well, and i one day i'll run out of those others, and i'll have this lovely waiting for me good show! n.

a lovely herbally green floral mix, reminicent of the Apothecary or High John the Conqueror. not really sure why i'd get it since i have those two already. nice enough, but not blowing me away. and not that merciless, either. n.

in the vial, this one was sweet and lovely. oh, i could smell it all! it was ethereal and beautiful and one me... it was baby powder. another day, another imp. n.

i tried this on this morning for a bit of a boost, figuring that i'd need it later on today when i go to this art opening, and to deal with my highly stressed collegues at the office. i really should have waited to put it on though, since my personal power was amped so high that it made every computer i sat at freak out and freeze up! i still will dab before my art opening, as not only do i feel confident, powerful, sociable and cheerful, i think the perfume itself is *lovely*. it reminds me of the APothecary, minus the fruit. it's sweet lovely herbal mix, that *actually stays true* on my skin. most of them go to soap/irish spring on me after a few hours, but HJtC stays true. i'll be layering him with Aizen Myoo later on. i like HJtC to wear enough on his own, though i'll have to restrain myself so as not to wear him out good stuff! powerful, and BEAUTIFUL! n.

Delicate and lovely. Like a non-funky Pink Moon. I like it, but I won't hunt it down.

A sensory jumble, a true cacophony of odors: black pepper, benzoin, blood orange and olibanum. ah, a little too sweet and candy like for me. i was hoping for almost a blood orange SN, and got Kool Aid SN instead. and strangely enough, this is the FIRST BPAL that has ever stayed true on my skin. ah well. ETA: it's been several hours since i applied this to my skin. the kool aid is mostly gone, and the frankinsence is coming through. i wonder if, because citrus *tends* to age less well, if this would become more complex with time. i may run a short forced aging experiment on an imp. i'll let you know what happens if i do! {ETA} it's been 9 days since i recieved this, and needing a lift this morning i put on Kunstkammer. the throw on this was just beautiful! bright blood orange, supported by the mystery of frankincense and other resins. funky and elegant at the same time, this one is a definite keeper. naturally, closer to my skin we move into Tang Territory, but i don't care. the throw is simply fab! perfect for New York Subway COmbat Stench Mode, and i'm looking forward to this one in the deep dark of winter as a pick me up. i'm VERY glad i got a bottle!

this is a pretty, and surprising scent. in the vial it smells very berry, which surprised me. i never thought of dragoon's blood as berry-like before. on me it goes through a fruity stage, then into a pure dragon's blood stage, and ends up at an all vanilla and honey place. i'm not sure how i feel aobut it. i am not compelled to run out and get a bottle, but it's nice, and i will most likely visit again. n.

delicate, sweet, florals, and dirty baby diaper. n.

this is a lovely perfume, way lighter than i'd expect from the description. right now i'm wearing too many scents to tell if it's just faded fast, or if i just can't tell it from the others. i'll be trying it again though. n.

a delicate white floral encased in coolness. yes, i'd buy a bottle. no, i won't hunt one down.... but i'm so glad to find that the "cold" scents have a chance of working on me. it gives me hope for my birth moon. n.

i can't tell if i like Harvest Moon or not. in the bottle it's very plummy and ripe and sweet. i was worried that my sking might do that "amp up the berry" thing it loves to do. i put it on and it blossemed into a pure carnelian scent. i mean, the scent glowed crimson. i can't describe it better than that. i would smell it and floating in front of my eyes was the most beautiful red i've ever seen -- the color of blood but glowing. weird, i know. i would have loved it had it stayed that way, but after awhile it went into potpurri. very *good* potpurri, but potpurri nontheless. now it'd died down some and is becomeing more about apples, pears and spice. the pears are helping a lot. i'm going to let this one sit in it's bottle a bit, before trying it again. and i will try it again, you know. n.

starts off like an evil Gingerbread Poppet and then it turns to... citronella! of all things! well, i was worried from reviews that i was going to have to hunt down a bottle of this, but luckily for me, that's not the case. *phew* n.

like a softer Coyote. Coyote without the grasses and minus the amber. it's very light and lovely, mildly sweet. it's not "me" in the slightest, but i'm glad i got to try it. n.

ah, the travails of a fading mind! (my mind, that is ) n. -
oh! it started off so marvelously! it was gingery, then the tobacco -- i thought i smelt leather for a while, and then a spicy rose. now, an hour and a half later it's slowly going to powder on my skin! damn you skin chemistry! no! nooooooooooooooooo! n.
