ok, so as a huge fan of the lab's snowy blends, I figured "hey, a GC icy blend! I should definitely slip that into my next order!", thinking for sure that it would be awesome. Eeesh, I couldn't have been more wrong. In the bottle, this is very reminiscent of snowball fracas, and I am certainly going in with those high hopes still intact. Once this hits the skin though, all similarity to ANY of the lab's snowy/wintry/icy blends is gone, and I'm faced with a brutal burst of heavily perfumed cheap dryer sheets. It's really intolerable, but for the sake of the review, I don't wash it off. After more than an hour has passed, this is still definitely in the dryer sheet territory - very clean and ozone-y, but below all that I'm starting to detect a faint hint of the lab's icy note. The cheap dryer sheet phase of the perfume does continue to fade, but the ice note never really develops a cool feel, so it and the ozone are still left feeling very artificial to me. Overall, the Old Goblin and I apparently just weren't meant to be. I'll stick to my other wintry blends when I need a chilly fix. (on a side note though, upon checking my notes, it seems that the lab's Ice note and I haven't ever really hit it off, and my favorite cold blends have some form of mint or the generic "snow" in their description)

phew, Luna Moth, does NOT work on me. I get no mint (awwwww, and I so love mint), no refreshing greeness. All I get is plastic-y medicated/ace bandage smell. I don't know if it's the pear or the lime or the armoise (which is mugort btw) which is turning on me, but this is downright FOUL.

Oh man, I see a long and loving relationship with paper kite in my future. I'm a coconut lover, and does this scent scratch that itch in all the right ways! But, I digress, onto the review! In the Bottle: Coconut with black pepper and something dark and not altogether pleasant Wet: coconut, coconut, black pepper, coconut, angelica, coconut. Awesome! Really, this is just a sea of sweet coconut with an edge as another reviewer put it. Dry: Lots of coconut! so much YUM! up close there's a floral-y note and the black pepper, but the throw is ALL COCONUT. and it's such a grogeous sweet coconut too. I couldn't be happier. Later On: No morphing, still nothing but awesome coconut with a hint of the black pepper. Overall: Lovely! Honestly, this is THE coconut blend that I've been waiting for. 5 out of 5. Oh this is LOVELY! Fizzy juniper! I'm not catching much in the way of other notes, which really isn't a big problem for me, since I love me my pine! There is absoutly no morphing going on, it stays true to the bottle on my skin and through the drydown stage. I do wish it lasted a little bit longer, I only get 4ish hours out of Bathtub Gin before it's really too faded to detect.

Highly caffeinated, profoundly sugared lemon-lime soda. yup, it's mountain dew alright! I love love LOVE how fizzy the scent is, but am saddened by how short the duration of geek.goth is on my skin. In the Imp: O HAI GARDENIA! Pretty, but really only getting a singular floral from this. Wet: bitter, very nice, expensive floral soap. That is all. Dry: okay, the soapyness subsides, but not entirely. The florals are blending together into a homogenous generic blend of dry bitter florals. It's not too strong, nor is there much throw to the blend. Overall: 3 out of 5 On my skin, this is really an unfortunate blend, but I've got a history of similar experiences with other heavilly floral (and specifically, gardenia) blends, so I tried this in a scent locket as well. The result? Gorgeous sweet gardenia awesomness. If You Like This, Try: Tissue, Marae, The Gaoler's Daughter, Eternal, The Hanging Garden,

Wet: up close this is a bitter/tangy lemon with a fair amount of spicy cardamom and pepper. I seriously couldn't find a whiff of honey. It's got quite a bit of throw at this stage (about 6 ft to get a good whiff according to the fiance), but it's not the same as the scent you get up close; the throw is lightly floral sweet honey. Dry: The spiciness subsides to a much lesser degree, with the peppery spice facet disappearing entirely and the cardamom melding with the citrusy fruity note. It's almost reminiscent of a creamsicle. The honey also appears as a dominant part of the scent at this point, and it is simply gorgeous. Overall: 4 out of 5 Pretty, and strong upon initial application, but fades and morphs into a hugely different blend! It's drydown is just the most stunning sweetly spicy honey blend. Doesn't have the best lasting power, probably about 4 hours of noticeable wear time. If You Like This, Try: Mead Moon, Hony Mone, Giant Vulva, O, Dana O'Shee

Liz is quite possibly my signature scent! I wear it and it just shines! The notes resolve into mostly vanilla florals, with an undertone of smoke and a hint of leather; it's the same wet, dry and hours into the scent (it lasts a good 4-5 hours). I purchased a decant of Liz when she first came out, and I've managed to go through a decant in a month. A MONTH! It's just that good

In the Bottle: The Juniper is the most present of the notes listed, coming off as a sweetened pine, with the mint lending a well defined cool note to the blend. The lotus is coming off as just a hint. Wet: more of the berry is brought out when the blend is warmed by my skin, but with a more sour rather than sweet smell. The mint is coming off as just a general cool refreshingness. Drydown: Wow, the berry fades quickly, leaving only pine-y mint behind. Contrary to the description the scent carries on the website, this really feels like a very dry blend, nothing aquatic about it at all. Dry: Ok, this is gaining a more aquatic feel (I think it has to do with the mint blending with the other notes more as time goes on). The blend is actually reading to me as a green blend, but not to be confused with foresty green. Further Changes: This definitely becomes more aquatic the longer you wear it, as well as darker (one might even say sinister). The mint has faded entirely, leaving behind a dark and almost musky juniper berry and lotus blend. Overall: Really nice blend, with a fantastic complexity given it's few notes. love how it morphs over time.

In the Bottle: mmm, tangerine! That's about all I'm getting out of the imp Wet: tart tangerine Drydown:morphing into a sweeter tangerine, I'm catching hints of the other citrus smells as well now. Dry: Slowly mellowing out to the sugar in the sugared lime and the pink grapefruit, then it becomes very reminiscent of child's cough sryup. Further Changes: Ok, good, it's back to sugared lime now. Overall: doesn't seem to be morphing from the last state at all, and it's gone after about 3 hours. eh, it's ok, not something that I'm in love with, kinda fun though

Wet: patocholi is the initial note, but that rapidly fades, leaving behind a slightly spiced floral. I wish i was better at picking up on notes out of the blue Drydown: sweet cinnamon over a pink floral, maybe with a hint of cinnamon and ginger-y galangal? Dry: sweet vanilla-y cinnamon. No complaints here! Overall: Very nice, The Boy approves, this one goes on the bottle list!

In the Bottle: lightning in the bottle is a light energetic twist of marine notes, with a hint of a floral that I just can't identify. Wet: marine and ozone notes mingling with the light hint of rain Drydown: chlorine pool water, a clean note, and a hint of floral still. The throw is decently strong at this stage. Further Changes: phew, little morphing, still unfortunately the same Overall: I do not like the aquatic/marine note in this; it goes straight to chlorine pool water. Bleh. Too bad since this is really rather pretty initially. I guess I'll just stick with Abe Sapien and Water Phoenix.

In the Bottle: too sweet apple (almost to the point of boozyness) but still crisp over the heavy oak bark. Wet: heavy woody sweetness. Where has my beloved apple gone? And where's the mint? Drydown: Wow, scent memory! This really reminds me of how my maternal grandmothers house used to smell. Not a hint of ANY of the notes listed, more like aged potpourri, dust and toilet bowl cleaner with a hint of cigarette smoke. Dry: ok, it's past that previously unpleasant stage, although the scent is still EXTREMELY familiar, I just can't place it, other than it keeps making me think of playing the early pokemon games when I was a little kid. This is a much more pleasant scent memory than the last. Overall: Too odd for me to wear with any frequency. Maybe it was just an off day when i tested this; will have to try again before saying adios.

In the Bottle: the notes say it all; sweet grains and honeyed milk all the way Wet: same on my skin as it is in the bottle, which is great! Drydown: no morphing going on here, still gorgeous Further Observations: This baby sure does last and last, about 6-8 hours of decent scent, and from 8-10 I can still smell it when i sniff my wrist Overall: VERY pretty, totally deserving of the magnitude of praise it receives on the forum.

Wet: rock candy creamy vanilla. very little throw. Drydown: taking on a clean almost minty quality now Further observations: A very mineral-y vanilla. Superb scent! Overall: really a pretty nice take on the vanilla/mint combo (even though mint isn't listed as a note). One of my favorite of the Lab's vanilla blends

Wet: yup, minty with a touch of herbal/lemongrass and earthyness. Maybe a little rose as well - maybe. Dry: has pretty good throw, and morphs very little, staying tru to the initial notes of dirt, earthy mint, rose and lemongrass. Overall: Pretty, I just love minty blends, but the herbal notes in this along with the rose just make this blend seem a little off to my sensibilities.

In Bottle: oh, sage and berries! very promising. Wet: more sage and berries, a hint of green tea, but no musk yet Drydown: a notable throw on this one. From far away, I get berry notes, but up close I can smell the distinct blackberry note. The sage note has died down a bit, the green tea is only barely noticeable. Changes as Time Elapses: mostly berries now, and the blackberry note has a habit of sticking around as a sickly sweet scent that won't leave my nose; it's rather unplesant truth be told. Overall: nice enough, but too generically sweetly floral for me.

In Bottle: herbal fruit with a hint of mint and pine? Wet: cherry and almond with a distinct herbal twist to the mix. Drydown: Woah, that's rather turned to a very astringent dried herbal green cleaning product scent in less than a half an hour. Lets see where this takes us as it continues to dry . . . maybe it will be more wearable. An Hour In: it's all lemon-y cleaning products and dry herbs. bleh. More Changes as Time Elapses: Ok, lemon's gone now, it's just a mossy, green, dried herbs. Not really that appealing.

In the Bottle: Wow, that's some teak! Maybe some dark amber or vetiver poking out from behind ALL THAT TEAK? Wet: TEAK TEAK TEAK. Seriously, that's a lot of wood *snicker*. I'm also catching the faintest of whiffs of the slightly sweet but bitter licorice. Drydown: Besides the overwhelming TEAK, I'm having a heck of a time pulling any other notes out of this blend. All I can say is it's really a dark blend on me. Later On: Ok, after an hour or two the teak fades down, and I can smell the rest of the blend! Yay! The teak is still making up the basenote of the blend, though the spiced orange is clear and present at the forefront, with a bit of still sweet and bitter licorice mixing in. I really rather like the drydown stages of Velvet Tiger, it's very attractive. Overall: I generally shy away from the darker blends (I'm looking at you amber and vetiver), and this one stays true to the rule. If the spiced orange note that makes this blend GORGEOUS came out a little bit earlier, I might consider putting up with the earlier OHAI TEAK stage, but two hours of dark resinous wood? So not my thing.

Initially, I was hesitant about Spinning Multicolored Metallic Pinwheel. Typically I don't favor the overly fruity blends, but the description just sounded so PERFECT for a nice summer blend. Suffice to say, I was not displeased with the result! In the Bottle: Super fizzy fruity YUM. Really well blended, but I can just pick out the raspberry (a very tart raspberry at that) and a bit of the lime. Are you sure we can't drink this? Wet: Instantly becomes less tart and more sweet upon application, but stays SUPER FIZZY. The raspberries are still the most notable of the fruity notes, and the lime/lemon blending in to keep the blend from becoming too sweet. Drydown: Hmmmm, the fizzyness dies down a tad, the white grape and blueberries making the blend almost too sweet for my tastes as the lime and lemon notes have left. It does begin to remind me of Hi-C/Kool-Aid, though not nearly as much as The Hamptons did. The juniper makes a small cameo appearance here, and the fruits take on a distinct candied/overly sugared feel, but that stage is gone almost immediately. Later On: the throw on this blend as it dries is pretty low - all I can catch is a vaguely fruity fizzyness wafting up to my nose. When I huff my wrist it's still notably raspberries, once again bringing to mind Hi-C/Kool-Aid, but with a almost stale/soapy feel to it; but don't worry, that's only up close at the wrist level! Overall Impressions: I really rather like this one! It surprised me in it's ability to stay REALLY fizzy the entire time I wore it, and that it wasn't overly sweet with all those fruity notes. I never get an alcoholic/gin feel with the blend, which I am very happy about, nor does the juniper ever really make an appearance. While I don't see myself wearing this any time other than summer, I do see it becoming a frequent part of the rotation in the warmer months. Oh, and on a further note, this scent does NOT benefit from slathering, for some reason it just amps the otherwise slight soapyness.

So this is going to be a weird review compard to what everyone else has posted about Khrysee, but I swear its the honest truth. I open up the imp, and my nose does a double-take, and my mind is reeling with the question: why in the word does this smell just like banana boat aloe vera gel (you know, the faux green stuff that kids love) slathered over fresh sunburn!? I sniff again, check the notes, and tell myself that I've got to be suffering from some sort of brain damage, and that surely when I apply the scent it'll become the gorgeous amber vanilla orange blossom blend that everyone else seems to have received. I slather that puppy onto my wrist for some serious testing, and give it another sniff; the scent remains as banana boat aloe vera gel. still thinking that brain damage might have set in unbeknownst to me, so I call over the wonderfully patient BF, and ask him what he smells. He replies with his typical "um, I don't know - vanilla?" which is his fall-back when he can't name what's going on in a blend that i stick under his nose, so I specifically ask him if he smells the same thing as I do. His eyes light up with realization, and he replies that yes, that is what he smells (and his first answer was vanilla - *headdesk* - sometimes guys are a lost cause). I wore it for a couple of hours, with no change whatsoever with the scent before it really faded. And that's my weird BPAL moment of the month I think.

In the Bottle (re:Imp): really reminds me of a past Lupercalia scent (or at the very least, another perfume from the lab), but for the life of me, I simply cannot place it. I'm catching mostly jasmine out of the imp with this blend, with a fair about of rose and a hint of the ginger and honey (though those might just be in my head since I'm reading the note list as I type). Wet: So far, I'm getting a fair amount of soapy jasmine (as is typical with jasmine on my skin) and just a hint of the spicyness that I believe to be white ginger. Drydown:Ok, so once this blend is dry, all I'm getting is the jasmine-note-of-DOOM and hints of roses. wah. VerdictJasmine doom. Again. *Sigh* you would think that sooner or later I would just give up on anything with jasmine in it all together, given that this happens EVERY TIME. At least this is one blend that I can cross off the list of possibilities to purchase before the Lupercalia update passes by.

Wanna know what this one reminds me of? NUMB. Ickyness for sure. I don't catch any white chocolate in this at all except for this nice 5 minute stretch in the drydown phase. Other than that, it's all powdery old violet candy. overall rating? 1 out of 5.

In The Imp: Oooh, the volcanic note reminds me of the trip to Hawaii and the hike on Kilauea. Way to nail the note beth! It's also pretty musky and earthy, with just a hint of florals. Wet: Hibiscus is the strongest note I'm getting, followed by dark earthy greenery and musk. Drydown: More tropical flowers with just a hint of sweetness over the greenery and the dark musk note that is staying very close to the skin. The hibiscus is turning slightly soapy (damn skin chemistry), but it's not too bad. As Time Elapes: Yay, the hibiscus isn't turning any more soapy! It's still in the forefront over what has now become dry sun warmed earth (mmm, scent memory back to Kilauea). Just the barest hint of the dark musk is left, and it continues to fade down to nothing. Summary: Overall this is a darker earthy floral with a little bit of morphing, but not too bad, as you end up with a blend that is pretty darn close to the website description. On a personal side note, the hibiscus note lasted 12 HOURS on me. It wasn't even the sort of "yeah, I can smell it if I get up close to my wrist" lasting, but a "Wow, why do I smell hibiscus, wait, that's me!" sort of experience. Also, as has been said before, this is a dead on scent for Lost. It smells just like Hawaiian rain forests and volcanoes.

Along with Loviatar, she has become something of a Patron Goddess of all Dominatrixes, Wanda is the breathtakingly beautiful sable-wrapped marble queen of Sacher-Masoch's fantasies. Her scent is a deep red merlot with a faint hint of leather, sexual musk and body heat over crushed roses, violets and myrtle. In The Imp: leather and lightly sweaty/salty musk with a LOT of the very grape/berry wine note. Strongly reminds me of Blood Rose, but with added muskyness and leather. Wet: Yup, the merlot note is in the forefront, but you can still catch the musk lying just beneath it. The other notes haven't really appeared yet, but we'll see how it progresses. Drydown: I'm getting a lot of the musk (which seriously smells like sex sweat to me, which is AWESOME), mixed in with rose and a bit of the leather. None of the other notes are strong enough to register distinctly. As Time Elapes: Man, for the first two hours this blend just exudes that "I just had fantastic kinky sex!", then there's a rather sudden change/morph to a darker smoke smell. Specifically, cigarette smoke. The musk is still there, but it's back to ligering in the rear with a very subtle rose, and the rest of the notes have disappeared (bye-bye my beloved leather). Summary: The evolution of the scent is also reminiscent of the progression of sex; drinking wine, a couple hours of drawn out lovemaking, and then the cigarette to wrap things up. I'm not a huge fan of the final morph of this scent, but I don't dislike it. It'll be a blend I only pull out occasionally, making it only imp-worthy for me.
