In the bottle: white musk, something green - grass? Something metallic. On me: fades immediately.
-
Plums and incense and smoke. But it disappears almost immediately
-
In the bottle: Hemlock and berry. On me: The berry is stronger. Not a swwet berry. Very Christmas-y. I think I'll save this for later in the year.
-
Lemon verbena in the bottle. On me: The ginger really pops out. It's all lemon and ginger.
-
Apple - not just any apple. Red Delicious, with that faint bitter tang of apple skin. Crunchy with a hint of hyacinth. Wow! I couldn't find a BPAL apple I liked to save my life and suddenly they're everywhere.
-
In the bottle: Straight up lemon. Not lemon candy or nasty lemon pledge - just lemon. On me: Ummmmm. Grapefruit has joined the party. And a teensy bit of floral. No tea for me.
-
I don't really get cake. I get butter. Maybe cake batter, but more butter, with an undertone of apple. Yum!
-
This is interesting. I had an imp of this that I got straight from the lab and it pretty much smells like straight up french vanilla. I swapped for a bottle with someone recently and it's a whole new world. In the bottle: Dragons blood and sweet On me: Much more complex - sugar and fruit and WOW!
-
DCLXV In the bottle: This tough. Very herby, but no distinctive notes. Is that tomato leaf I smell? On me: Boy this is *hard.* Maybe some mint. It sounds crazy, but I keep thinking food herbs. Oregano? Oh, well - I like it.
-
Patchouli and...and...I don't know quite what. I smell myrrh and what must be champaca flower. As it drys down I get the teensiest hint of something civet-y. I can't smell the pepper, but I can feel it making my nose tingle.
-
This is a tough one. I definately smell myrrh. And wood and smoke. *sniffs again* Lots of dark things. The burning forest smell is not dominent, but it's strong. Also a hint of mint.
-
Thank you Absinthetics for this! Yum! In the bottle: mint, mint, mint and a hint of spice. On me: I don't pick up the cucumber, but theres a lot going on under the mint I can't identify and it must be there. Not a "blow open you nasal passages" mint, but softer.
-
In the bottle: I don't smell what I would identify as honey, but it is sweet. I also smell citrus and licorice. On me: I also get the same note that says "soda pop" I get from Sundew. Not really getting florals. I like this. I think I'll look for a bottle.
-
Vivid, busting with juice fruits - a good Fall scent. The florals are there, but holding on for dear life. A little spicy. Big and bold. This is fruit writ large.
-
What a great sleepy time scent! I like lavender, but I get tired of it. Pears and flowers. Smooth, cool, and relaxing.
-
Golden. Okay - that's a crappy description, but this one is tricky. Like The Lion it's smoothly blended with no notes sticking out. It is a tad citrisy, but mostly it's insesnse and resin.
-
In the bottle this had a strong dirt note. On me, the dirt note is joined by orange and something sweet. This was not what i expected. It's kind of interesting, though.
-
This reminds me very much of Blood Amber, but with a more feral edge. I think it's that red and black musk coming out. It's right on the edge of being civet-y. Not bad, but not me.
-
Spicy and earthy. I get patchouli and myrrh in the bottle, but not on me. Kind of a warm clove smell.
-
These are not the woods I expected. Perhaps that's the rosewood or white sandalwood. I smell a little bit of that cedar pencil smell underneath. Now the orchid comes out to play. This is lovely!
-
Big, fat, juicy cherries. It kind of reminds me of Hollywood Babylon, without the clove.
-
Mmmmm. Plum and some spice. I'm assuming that's the carnation. I really like this.
-
Sweet orange - not like candy, but real oranges in sugar. It doesn't have much throw, though.
-
Wow! In the bottle I actually smell all the listed notes: frankincense, cinnamon, and violet. That's unusual for me. On, it's frankincense and violet. I really like this. Very heady.
-
Wow, that's a lot of rosemary! It's all I smell. Not for me.
