Similarities Between BPAL Scents - GC and general discussion
Diviana replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
Arkham Revisited's drydown is extremely similar to Titania on me. It's a bit disconcerting, actually. -
I bought an imp of this mostly because some of the reviewers have been saying that it layers really nicely with Flower Moon (which I have a 5 mL of). So even though the description of Milk Moon didn't sound all that appealing to me, I decided to try it out. And alas, Milk Moon hates me. Has anyone ever had powdered milk before? Yeah, that's what it made me smell like.

I received an imp of this as a generous gift from the Lab, and I refused to try it for several weeks because I was afraid I'd love it. And sure enough... It's gorgeous. An innocent, sweet vanilla (as opposed to Dorian, which I'd say is a stronger, sexier vanilla). It reminds me a bit of angel food cake, in that it's sweet and light and airy. It lasts a long time, though, which I'm grateful for. I'm definitely going to cherish this imp. I'm so sad that this got discontinued before I discovered BPAL!

Hmm...wet, this is sweet and juicy, in a way that's reminiscent of Titania. Definitely not what I was expecting, but it's lovely. As it dries, it stays sweet but becomes more floral. Then I start to get a tiny bit of a green/herbal feel. After about 15 minutes, the herbal note disappears. How very odd. I really like this scent, though.

First impressions: Almond (like Dana O'Shee) with a hint of citrus. On the drydown, it becomes creamy and sweet with a "powdery" feel. Honey and rose, and a hint of spiciness from the carnation. Quite nice, but I don't know how often I'd wear this.

Hmm, I don't really have anything more to add to the other reviews. Stayed pretty much the same for the 8+ hours (!!) it lasted on me: yummy vanilla tea. I wasn't even going to order this scent, but all of the rave reviews made me curious...and now I totally want a big bottle of it.

Wet: GARDENIA!! JASMINE!! Dry: Vanilla and just a hint of florals. Weeeeird. I like it, though. And it's long-lasting.

Hmm...this started out very intense, very floral. I couldn't pick out any individual notes, I just know that it was like I stuck my nose in a gigantic bouquet of flowers. The drydown is nice, a not-as-intense floral with a bit of an herbal undertone. I like it. It lasts a long time too. Definitely a "spring" scent, but great for summer as well.

Wow! This is strong! Definitely apply this one sparingly. I've only put on a tiny dab, and the fragrance is pretty intense. In the vial: Violet, aquatics, and a hint of fruitiness (the melon that other reviewers have mentioned, perhaps?) On me: No more melon, just violet and aquatics. A cool, floral scent. I bought this to use as a perfume, but it definitely lives up to its description. Very soothing, very calming. Another big bottle for me. Hee!

Pure internal harmony and spiritual bliss: the perfected meditation blend. Hmm... the only note I can pick out is the sandalwood. This is a very warm and peaceful scent, but I don't see myself wearing it much as perfume. I think I'll turn it into a room spray, or maybe use it in an oil burner.

Oooh, I really love this. When I first put it on, the white grape was most prominent. Then the pear note came out. I can't smell the peach at all, which is fine with me because I actually don't like peaches and I was hoping that it wouldn't be a strong note in this blend. Okay, here come the florals. They complement the white grape and pear perfectly. Sweet, juicy fruits mingled with wet flowers. Definitely need a big bottle of this one.

Nothing really new to add to the previous reviews... In the vial - Lots of lemon and a hint of tea On me - Equal parts lemon and tea, and a tiny bit of musk. It's a very light, crisp scent. I suspect this one will fade quickly, but I like it (the scent, not the fact that it'll fade quickly).
-
In the vial: This smells exactly like the almond jello dessert that they serve at Chinese restaurants. Interesting. On me: Starts off very almond-y, but dries down to a more generally creamy, sweet smell. I can still smell the almond, but it's not overpowering anymore. It's nice, but I don't think I'll be buying a bigger bottle.

Aquatics and florals. I can't pick out any specific flowers, but it's very, very nice. Clean, crisp, and cool. I'm also getting sort of a citrussy "feel," but I can't smell any actual citrus. After a while, I get a hint of saltiness. Because this is a light scent, it's fading pretty quickly on me. I think I need to start putting more on.
