In Bottle: Sweet perfumey floral and light patchouli. Very feminine. Wet: mostly patchouli and tea rose. I do smell the jasmine and the vanilla makes it warm and creamy. kind of soapy. Dry: Soapy smell is gone. I now have a soft warm creamy earthy tea rose and jasmine with a bit of the pepper. really pretty.

Have you tried seraglio? It is girly and kind of rich to me with citrus in there too.

In Vial, Earthy soft violet, smells a little like peanut butter. Wet, peanutbuttery grass and flowers. My daughter and husband and I all agree it is not very nice. I think it is too dirty hippie. The hubby thinks it smells like old people. Particularly old people who live in a home for old people that overuses alcohol when they are sterilizing everything. Drying, the violet is becoming sweeter. Dry it is a sweet dirty sexy violet but since the hubby doesn't like it at all and thinks it smells like a nursing home, I won't be wearing it much if at all.

In the Vial, violet, and something smells sharp and green and I get the tonka. Wet, mostly violet with supporting tonka and a touch of spiciness. Drying, the spice is catching up with the violet, but the tonka is still too strong for me. Smells a little bit like a toy store. Dry it is a sweet nutty violet with a bit of spice. Apparently I don't love tonka. Later, warmed by the lovely SoCal sun Sybaris became all incensey yumminess with violets.

In Imp, pineapple and coconutty rum. Wet, juicy fresh pineapple and spicy coconut with a little bit of alcohol. Just like Malibu and Pineapple. Dry, tropical slightly fruity vanilla coconut. It is yummy and I will be wearing this this summer.

In Bottle, Spicy sweet nutty fruity yumminess. Wet, mostly cherry and spices, a little rum. Dry, Mostly Spices(I think clove) with some orange and a tiny bit of cherry and then rum. Feels more holiday than tropical. But it isn't bad and the wet is so awesome I am thinking about putting this in my hair.

In Vial, cool coconutty floral. Wet, Cooling tropical floral sweet coconut the mint feels sooo cold. Dry, cool coconut with soft flowers. This is sooo pretty! It reminds me of snow white but better. Snow white for some reason failed on me. This is just tropical enough to be awesome for summer but not too tropical that I think it would be weird to wear in the spring and fall. I could get away with it in winter but the mint makes it feel really cold. I love it.

In Imp, fruity slightly banana-y booze. The banana may not be awful. Wet, yucky banana, I hate bananas, and coconutty booze then grenadine. Dry, softer banana and light coconut, spices. This would be nice if I didn't think bananas were the most evil fruit ever.

In Imp, fruity rum with something more. Wet, very berry and slightly spicy and alcoholy. Dry, a fruity candy with a slight hint of the ouzo.

In Imp, Perfumey patchouli. Wet, patchouli and orange blossom very vintagey. This is the type of thing I can imagine Donna Reed wearing. Dry, Sweet orange blossom with a light patchouli and a tiny hint of ginger. It is nice but not awesome. This has quite a throw on me. I like but do not love this. I look forward to this aging though

In the Imp, Lime jumps out at first with clove and patchouli coming from behind and pushing it out of the way. Wet, I get warm and sweet almond and vetiver supported by pine. It is gorgeous. Dry, myrrh, vanilla, vetiver and pine are hanging out with the clove. The patchouli is still there but it supports instead of standing out. This is a much softer scent than I thought it would be. I really wish the almond and lime would come back. The husband thinks it smells like Christmas. I think I prefer it wet over dry.

In the imp, clean fresh soft sandalwood and flowers. Wet, mostly sandalwood and mandarin with tea rose and lilac. Not much amber in this stage Dry, soft clear tea rose with lilac and sandalwood being warmed by the amber and a little edge of myrrh and I definitely am picking up the lilies which makes my throat itch a bit. It actually reminds me a lot of of my beloved Seraglio but softer and more powdery and with lilies.

I just tried Brusque Violet at will call and it was really similar to Solstice Aurora. It isn't as green or as bright but it is cold and violet and really nice.

I have pretty much given up on finding any bottles/sample vials of Cobalt Blends oils though I have been DISO Cobalt Blends Displaced Princess and Solstice Aurora for a few years now. BPAL must have something similar to these. The descriptions are: Displaced Princess - Delicate and wistful, light yet seductive. Ylang ylang extra, amber, sugar cubes and vetiver. Solstice Aurora - Sparkling green tea with radiant glimmers of violet candy and a frisson of linden lightly blended over a plush blanket of creamy snow. Serendipitous and subtly intoxicating.

Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener
cosmoblue replied to flyingpizza's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
Sassafras, vanilla extract, oak leaf, CO2 butter extract, and onycha. In Vial Sweet saffafrass, Wet, Sweet herbal sasafrass. Dry, Yummy herbal sassafras. Really nice and sort of like root beer candy and ice cream. -
In vial, flowers and resin. Wet, it is still a very floraly amber. I was hoping the age would bring out the fruitiness of the blood amber I tried at the will call before, but alas it did not. Dry, still floral dragons blood with a bit of amber.

In the vial, smooth amber and spices. Wet, soft warm cinnamon. Hubby says it is like red hots candy but I don't think it is that strong. Dry it is a very nice warm amber with a bit of cinnamon. Hubby says the cinnamon has faded to the background. Started as a 3/5 and upped from a 3 to a 4 since as I wore this it just got smoother and yummier. I bet this would be amazing aged.

In bottle, rich, warm, rose. Smells like perfume. Wet, L-EB, Resinous Rose that is lush and velvety and a little fruity. A little soapy but not in a bad way. Dry, Definitely an expensive fancy soap smell. It is all soft petals and resin. I like it but don't know if I would actually wear it. I'll probably hang on to this one though.

In Bottle, deep and rich and wine-ey. Wet, L-W, kind of an elegant perfumey wine. Rich Grown up-y type of smell. Dry, This smells like a dry wine that is a little tart and the sandalwood is not very prominent. I keep smelling wine and looking around and wondering who is drinking wine while I am here alone with my kids. It's just me. I like it but I don't love it and I don't know if I would ever have a reason to wear it. I feel like this is one bottle that will just sit on my drawer unloved.

In bottle, bright and sweet floral and resinous. Wet, sweet creamy floral resinous cheerful and quite strong. Dry, creamy, soft bright and floral. The throw is not nearly as insane as it was wet. It feels like spring and the amber is so smooth and gorgeous. It is really soft and comfortable.

Lamia sounds like one worth trying. La Petite Mort doesn't really have the same feel to it. Candles Moon sounds like at good try, but trying to get a hold of enough of a lunacy sounds like it would be either expensive or challenging and that it worrisome. I do want to try Moonshine and Mist though I don't think I've tried anything with ambergris yet. My favorite thing about the Solstice Aurora is that it is cool it is like early in the morning on the first day of spring.

In Vial, It smells like lemon pledge. Wet, Lemon and wood. Clean and warm. Dry Lemony wood with a sweet rose behind it. After a few hours the lemon fades a lot and it is all soft floral wood. It is a lot like Seraglio but much less floral. I really like it!
-
In Vial, Sweet Lemony meadow. Wet, green jellybeans in a meadow. Dry, lovely lilac with musk and the citrus settles down. This is a very clean and fresh scent.
-
In Bottle, Coffe secret eggnog. Wet, sweet vanilla and coffee and some spice. Dry, warm creamy vanilla spice. However when the wind blows I get a whiff of coffee and ask myself where that smell is coming from and I guess it is me but nose to wrist all I get is egg nog. I was so glad that this did not smell like coffee on me.

In bottle, fizzy champagne that makes my nose ticle and roses. Wet, champagne fizzy a little alcohol with lovely fresh rose and some of the leaves and stems. Much throw. Dry, roses are the front of the scent. The throw settles down a bit. After about 6 hours the fizziness dies down and leaves a sweet soft rose petal with a flat champagne.
