Little Bird

A wonderful antidote to an all-nighter oozing with drunken, addled perversion and debauchery. A fresh, crisp white linen scent: perfectly clean, perfectly breezy. Based on the description of dirty as "crisp white linen" this is something that I would never have tried on my own (received an imp of Dirty as a swap freebie). I hate most scents that are described as white and the smell of laundry detergent tends to make me queasy. Still, I gave this scent a try because... well, I try everything. This isn't at all what I expected. It does have a sort of laundry scent to it... but more like laundry that fell off the clothesline and into a flower bed while it was still drying in a warm summer sun. Also, this blend smells rather fruity on me (plums?) mixed in with the laundry and florals. Very unique. I'm not sure if I'll buy a full bottle right away, but I'll definitely keep this one in the back of my mind for future orders. It is very soft and clean, perfect for days when you don't really want to feel like you're wearing perfume.

Cerberus is a favorite of mine because it is so complex and changes so many times throughout the day. It is as though there are a dozen different scents and they are all swirling and dancing around each other. At first it smells like lemonglass, then gets sweeter and more of a lemon drop and fig scent. *How I love BPAL oils with fig in them.* After about a half hour of lemon-y fig goodness, the chocolate and walnut begins to come out on me. It slowly morphs into a spicy bitter chocolate and fig. Then, in the end when it is settling down, it smells like delicious warm chocolate biscuit cookies - but still with a bit of wonderful lemony zest and berry lurking underneath it all. At least... that is the best way that I could attempt to describe it at the moment. Everytime that I wear Cerberus gives me a different experience... but it is always a wonderful experience and it always dries down to a chocolatey biscuit scent that I adore.

I really thought that I would love this, and it was one of the first BPAL imps that I thought I had to have. Back in the day before I realized that most anything with orange blossom seems to turn rancid on my skin. Vice smells like stale milk chocolate and gummi bears on me. I guess one could say that it smells like stale chocolate covered gummi bears. It's too odd and cheap smelling for me to want to wear it... luckily, Bliss turned out to be a good chocolate scent for me <3.

Kostnice is a scent that I would have never tried on my own. None of the notes sounded appealing to me at all. Luckily, a lovely swapper included an imp of Kostnice as a freebie... and I'll try anything twice. Oh God, I LOVE Kostnice . When I first dabbed it on my wrist, I immediately thought that it smelled cool. Like the first chilly day in fall when you realize that summer is ending. And it remains hauntingly cool for the long hours that it stays with me. After a few minutes of monitoring Kostnice and repeatedly smelling my wrists, it had transformed into the green herbal scent of my dreams. I've been trying to find a perfect green scent for years, and this is it. It never smells soapy or floral as it does on some users... it just stays green and herbal and perfect. It reminds me of some good memory from my childhood that I cannot quite place, but the happy feeling is there all the same. This may very well be my new favorite scent...

This already has so many reviews, but it is still a personal favorite of mine, so I thought that I would throw mine in as well. I love this scent. On initial application I get a mixture of powdery soft rose and spicy carnation. The smell of a very proper and elegant woman's perfume. However, under that perfume is a mixture of the most perfect honey cake, milk, and sugared sweetness. Very much the innocent prepubescent girl. And that is the perfect image that it conjures up for me. I see a young girl in a cute sundress, wearing her mother's perfume and trying desperately to appear grownup. It is a very manipulatively naive sweetness. The effect on me is very sweet, spicy, and sexy - everything I want in a scent. The staying power of this one is also amazing. It loses more and more of the floral as hours go by, so that 8 hours later I am smelling of honey cakes, cream, and sugar. It's delicious and I am in love. This is the only BPAL that I am plotting to order a 10 ml of. <3
