    The Witches’ Rout (the Carcass)

Starts off as smoky vetiver and powdery sandalwood, and I wanted to scrub it off immediately, but the drydown loses the powder & only has a slight woodsmoke scent to it. The drydown is more of a sweet, spiced plum and thick, resinous sweetness from the opoponax, with just a hint of black woodsmoke from the vetiver. I love it a lot in the drydown. Dark and cozy.

    Satan Summoning His Legions

Starts off as sharp red hots cinnamon candy and an undertone of smoky incense, and gets more powdery sandalwood and soapy, dry white musk to it over time. I don't get any of the leather from my decant.

    Gingerbread Goblin

Goblin smells like coconut cream, cedar-y patchouli, and warm, resinous benzoin on me. I get all of that here, but with the addition of a spicy, smoky gingerbread. It's like someone poured Goblin over a batch of smoking, burnt-around-the-edges gingerbread cookies. So it smells *really* good.

    The Fox Sisters

This is a simple, pretty blend of lightly sweet tea rose and tart green apple on my skin. The apple makes the rose feel more fresh and natural to me. As it dries down, I can smell the dry wood and herbal rose geranium. It smells like wild roses growing through a fallen tree trunk, surrounded by herbal greens. I enjoy this blend; it's like finding a rose bush in a forest clearing.

    A Measurement of the Soul

Starts off kind of like Intrigue, but with sage instead of chocolate, so I like this a lot less. The herbal, savory sage scent is always off-putting to me. Mixed with sweet, woody fix and a dry, pencil shavings type cedar. As it dries down, it shifts into a clean, light, lemony scent, which must be the ti leaf.

    Thirteen (13): December 2013

I get nothing like donuts, cake or cookies from this blend it's mostly grape and pomegranate on me. Fruity, tart, and artificially sweet smelling. I smell a little bit of powdery white chocolate and watery greenery (keeps making me think of lettuce), but mostly it's sweet, tart, candy fruits. Kind of reminds me of The Last Unicorn, but with a ton of grape and pom thrown over it.

    Thirteen (13) Ad Lunam

This is a watery spa type scent, very different from the sweet Thirteens (which I prefer). I definitely smell the tart lemon verbena, sharp and white floral opium poppy, and an herbal lavender, with a watery, cool, soothing blue musk rounding out the edges and smoothing the scent down.

    Lacus Bonitatis

This is a spring scent to me. Herbal geranium and lavender with hints of floral honey, tart apple and powdery amber. Sort of a bright, herbal, tart fruity-floral. Leans towards being clean smelling on me, but not soapy.

    Lacus Odii

I love the lab's blood musk note (like a slightly metallic, sweet, cinnamon-spiced version of red musk) and that's the main thing in this blend, so I'm happy. Pink pepper adds more sweetness (always smells oddly like pink bubblegum to me) and the saffron more of a dry, spicy bite. I don't smell any of the neroli, but this is a lovely, red, spicy blend.

    Mare Vaporum

I rarely like the lab's jasmine and their ambers and white sandalwood tend to turn to baby powder on me, so there really was no hope for this scent. The jasmine actually isn't too awful here, very rich and almost honeyed with just a hint of sourness to it, but it's surrounded by baby powder. Too powdery and dry for me.

    Wolf Moon 2013

The first 04 Wolf Moon smelled like pine, aquatic and musky florals to me. 06/07 was powdery, cologne-like black musk and weird, sweet herbs. 2011 was snow note and baby powder. 2013 doesn't list the black musk of the 06/07 and none of the black spruce, maple leaves or ambrette seed listed in the 2011. It adds in white tobacco. Not that any of that really matters. 2013 smells mainly of sharp, sour pine that's cold and menthol-like. It reminds me of a medicinal rubbing ointment for sore muscles. The drydown sees some warm, baby powdery amber and sandalwood coming through, but I never smell any tobacco. None of the Wolf Moons have really worked on me.

    Luna Negra 2013

The previous Luna Negra felt more lushly fruity and always smelled red musky to me. This version is more sharply floral and dry. The lavender smells perfumey and sharp, the fruit is understated, and the amber makes it feel dry and powdery rather than juicy and rich.

    Hunger Moon 2014

This smells pretty similar to how I remember the 2007 Hunger Moon. Sharp, clean citrus, lots of lemon verbena, and powdery white sandalwood and amber with hints of dry, herbal greenery. The ozone isn't overwhelmingly soapy, but it's there. Too much sharp, sour lemon for me.

    Oceanus Procellarum

I get a sharp, salty tang and a bit of greenery from the seaweed, but this is mostly a soapy laundry smelling aquatic on me.

    Lacus Mortis

The asphodel and sandalwood give this a powdery, sharp white floral that hangs all over the dirty, funky, sour earthiness. It smells a bit fecal to me. I normally like all of the listed notes, but the patchouli, castoreum and oakmoss are too much for me in this, mixing together in a heavy, sour, strange way.

    Terra Vigoris

I agree that this reminds me of the Chinese New Year blends. It's a swirl of juicy fruits, lead by sharp, bright citrus tones. Blood orange, lemony bergamot, and soft, fuzzy apricot are the main players on my skin, with a bit of powdery sandalwood in the drydown.

    Sinus Amoris

Mostly a very dry, slightly powdery sandalwood incense smell. Warm and woody. I think the red pepper gives it a sharp bite in the drydown. I don't really smell the myrrh or vanilla at all. Fades quickly and doesn't have a lot of throw.

    Metis

Misty, clean white pine with bright, herbal sage (I actually keep thinking it's chamomile) and a dry, earthy sort of oakmoss. I like my pine scents to be warmer and sweeter, as in Golden Priapus.

    Amalthea

Slushy, slightly sweet, slightly soapy snow note with some warm, powdery amber in the drydown. I don't get rose or anything pink smelling from this blend.

    Thebe

This reminds me of bptp's Muilearteach blend (blood red, bone white, and pitch black musks coated in hoarfrost). Red musk with minty, clean snow note and a thick, dark sweetness from the opoponax. Dark and sweetly musky, but also with a clean, cold edge to it.

    Champagne Lace

I cannot deal with the champagne note. It's fizzy, sickly-sweet and makes me think of throwing up alcohol (it smells weirdly sour and 'pukey' on my skin). I get a strong champagne and then the dry, clean, slightly powdery vanilla musk of the Lace blends.

    Midian Unmade

I really like this. It reminds me of damp, black dirt and blood musk (which is always kind of a metallic smelling red musk with a cinnamon spiced edge to my nose). The drydown is much the same, but with a soft, smooth, slightly smoky incense note creeping in.

    Mare Nectaris

Very sweet, juicy peach with a tropical edge from the papaya. Smells like something that would attract hummingbirds . I love the opening, especially, but it loses its juiciness after about a half hour and is more like a peach gummi candy with a dry, warm, musky undertone. Still, I like the sweetness of this.
  24. Little Bird

    Io

Yellowy, heady, slightly sour jasmine made sharp by the poppy and musk, with a bit of powdery sandalwood and a hint of earthy patchouli.
  25. Little Bird

    Lacus Oblivionis

Soapy lavender and baby powdery amber. Dries down to all powder on my skin.
