I second The Magi. My first impression was of Sprite or 7-Up bubbling up to my nose.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

In my opinion, Alice (GC: Mad Tea Party) comes closer to Avon's Sweet Honesty than Dolce Stil Nuovo or Les Infortunes de la Vertu (see posts 899592 and 854064). Sweet powdery floral with just a little bit of spice, which SH doesn't have. -
The description made me think this might be a simple scent that would layer well with others, but the skin test proved otherwise for me. First sniff was a nice light sweet almond, followed by a creamy note. On the skin it was soft and feminine for about 30 seconds, then turned into public bathroom air freshener with a mothball start. In another 30 seconds, I realized I was smelling Snow White plus plastic. I'm afraid this one did not work for me

Wowee! Did not expect this to be so true a chocolate scent. The image I have when I sniff this is of a huge piece of rich chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing. I'm going to have to wear this during my monthly period of most intense chocolate craving. My DH does not like "smelly" things, but I made him smell this because it is sooo fantastically accurate. Here's what he said: "That's no cheap chocolate, either. That's a big fat chocolate cake!" And I didn't describe my sensory experience of it to him, beforehand, either!

I'm really glad I made a 2-bottle impulse purchase of this one because it smells delish! From the bottle comes a hint of rum, buttery sugar cookie, and the orange zest. Once on my skin, the rum and orange zest evaporate and are replaced by cinnamon. The sugary cookie tones down a little bit and what is left is a mouthwatering aroma of buttery pancakes french toast (duh) covered with maple syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon. A wonderful scent for a lazy winter-time Sunday morning PS. I think I will definitely have to dilute this one. After about 30 minutes the cinnamon is still burning. But still yummyriffic! Edit: Later on I realized that I had not noted any almond; and then I realized that what I was smelling was not cinnamon (at first) but cherry-almond, which seemed to turn into cinnamon, then back into cherry-almond. Still very yummy.

i really liked this one when i first opened the imp. very sweet, creamy (vanilla) and juicy (cherry), which made my mouth water . it smelled nice on me, very rich and complex. but as it has aged, it has changed into a much sharper, sour scent. it comes out simply as cherry tobacco, and heavy on the tobacco. i am wondering if the traces of my body chemistry on the wand have changed it. i say this because i got a bottle of pumpkin iv (which i love!) in the same order, which also has cherry tobacco. i got a glass wand capper to put on that bottle, and it seems the same effect has occurred with that scent, as well, though not to the same degree. i'm not giving up on blood kiss, yet, though, because it is the first bpal scent so far that i have had an interesting physical reaction to.

1st IMPression: Nnngghhhh! Sweet red headache! That must be the bayberry. Berry and cinnamon. Applies: Hesitant to apply, but I want to give it a fair shake. All I smell is the bubble gummy berry. Few hours later: Ghastly bubble gum. Oh, damn! I must have splashed some on the cuff of my sweater. Great. Verdict: I did not get the idea from the reviews of this scent that it would be such a poor choice for me. But it really is. That’s okay, though. Plenty more to choose from! Welcome to the madness . . .la la la

1st IMPression: smells how a sweet tart tastes; kind of grapefruity, too?! Can’t put my finger on it. Applied: grapefruityness quickly fades to more tangy floral that reminds me of a bubble bath I used when I was a kid. Few hours later: tang fades and leaves a sweet powdery fragrance with a bit of plastic; this must be the Band-Aid smell mentioned in other reviews. Verdict: I really like this one in the imp, but it does not smell pleasant on my skin. I don’ t think I’ll even approach Beast with this one

1st whiff: Mmm. Millisecond of sharp herbal impression, then yummy sweet maple. Applied: I guess that herbal sliver is the carrot, but wet, it’s mostly maple. Few hours later: Scent has really faded quickly. Had to reapply about 30 minutes after the first appl. Maple turned into a mellow vanilla, not as sweet as snake oil on me. A faint play doh scent that could be the apples. Also a trace of wood smell. Beast’s reaction: “Eh . . .uggh” with a crinkled brow. Another loser, according to him. Verdict: I like this scent a lot. I like this more mellow vanilla than what I experienced with snake oil. That was too sweet. And maybe there isn’t even any vanilla in here, but once dry, it came across more as vanilla than as maple.

1st IMPression: fresh apples! And spicy cinnamon?, clove. Appllied: juicy apples; clove Drydown: mulled cider; apples have faded a bit Few hours later: mulled cider–fruit and spices have blended nicely Verdict: I like this one. Not too foody, just spicy enough, nice progression.

1st whiff: Oh! Very masculine; musky; piney (maybe that’s the vetiver?) . Applies: Masculine cologne smell tones down a bit; hint of sweetness of nicotiana; vetiver is loud and clear. Drydown: tiniest impression of dried leaves here; the powdery smell is too soft and light to evoke “foreboding “ for me ; have not noticed amber. Few hours later: smells like my mom’s every day scent (B&BW Night Blooming Jasmine Splash - don't ask me?!?), which I don’t like; powdery smell has toned down slightly and become more herbal. Can just barely detect the amber now. Beast’s reaction: “Strong.” Which means he doesn’t like it. Verdict: this one is too powdery for me, I think. Maybe I’ll try again in a few months . . . EDIT Later in the day: Beast commented that it smelled nice once it wore off a little. Too bad i really did not care for the powder reaction.

1st IMPression: millisecond of spicy bite, then reminiscent of mom’s favorite perfume growing up: Shalimar Applied: sweet, powdery vanilla; impression of spice that’s slightly play-dohy Drydown: just vanilla Few hours later: simply sweet vanilla, slightly powdery Verdict: too sweet now; will try again in a few months
