Wow....ok then....thanks for the info!! That is real cool to know!!! As always, I get very nice and helpful people here!! Yep! That was back from when we had to send an email to the person running Space 15 Twenty and beg her to send up a bottle. Sometimes we'd hear back, other times not.. so if people got a hold of a bottle it was a lucky thing After it went to the main Urban Outfitters site it was way easier to get.

To my nose this is mostly similar to Inganok Jewelers, a blend I love. It's in the same family as Night's Bridge, and has some of the same spice as Minotaur, amazingly. I like it a lot, and I didn't get a chance to give it a proper test before the Yules are about to leave-- I have a lot of blends that are similar so I hope I'm ok holding off on this one!

Straight up red musk and dust on me and the boy. No nuances, no complexity.. just blah. I amp red musk so in the red musk blends I own and wear the other notes must also amp enough to play nicely with the red musk... here they're just decimated.

INK. This to me smells like deep, dark, viscous ink. On the skin it opens up and has a "perfumey" background of aquatic florals (Dragon blood I guess, from the reviews, although I'm not super familiar with it since I tend to avoid it after have some bad scent experiences with a few dragon's blood containing blends). It shares that "linen" note with the ____ Lace blends and has just a slight touch of saltiness (blood). It's a weird one to be sure, but I was so excited when I smelled it I called my boyfriend to tell him I had a BPAL that smelled like ink on linen. So so so cool

I took a chance on this one because I loved the picture and I can't resist a book themed blend. I was very pleasantly surprised when I smelled it for the first time-- leather! A beautiful light leather mixed with the lab's "paper" note (which I don't personally think smells like an old book, but I've come to like it nonetheless). Just beautiful! It's fairly light in throw, but it warms up on the skin to a musky, clean, soft, leather that I love. I may have to find another bottle. Between Old Moon and Blood Moon the Lab's Lunacies have really impressed me recently

I'm with Milo (both her last reviews on this blend actually). I have '08 and love it dearly-- I even tracked down another bottle last year after the '10 version seemed too light and baseless to me. This year I get the same thing.. it's lighter and less resinous than '08, which is unfortunate because it's a beautiful blend. I guess when you've smelled what it CAN be, the new versions just seem a little lacking.

YUCK. This doesn't smell like a sugar cookie to me at any point. It's just nasty. Edited to add: Ok, I'll try to at least say something useful. From this I get too much sour booze and too much spice. It's like it lacks a base note on my skin. It does have a truly incredible throw.

This blend continues to confound me. Last time it was offered I bought a decant and it was SO evocative of such a WEIRD thing I thought I was going nuts. It smelled like..... an animal that's been to the vet for surgery Well, this year it must be ever so slightly different because I'm not getting that.. but it's still not really doing it for me. I swear.. amber and chocolate sounds AMAZING! but what I get from Gelt is dry, dusty old chocolate. I amp amber like crazy so I dunno how I do such bad things to it here. Really disappointing.

This was the surprise standout of the Yules for me. Perhaps the surprise standout of the entire year actually! I'm not sure what drove me to get an imp of it-- probably the name Breathless Horror is truly unlike any other BPAL I've smelled-- it's not often I can say that, because I tend to associate blends into "scent families" or "feeling families" etc and I've smelled a LOT of BPAL. I never would have thought I'd like something with camphor, that's for sure. Anyway.. wet this is a little obtrusive and sharp from the cold mint and camphor, with a weird note (that must be the carrot seed) that you'll really have to smell to understand, because it' s quite unusual-- it's organic, herbal but not in the tradtional way like a spice rack, more like something wild but clean. On my skin the musk blooms and the mental image I get when I smell this is of cool air blowing through an oak tree. I say oak because it does smell woody (tree woody, not table top woody) but not like pine obviously. It's cold and despairing, but the musk is warm so it's like having a scarf up around your neck while that wind blows. It wound up being quite evocative to me, and like I said, very unusual so I didn't hesitate to order a bottle (in place of my Wiley Grasser in a recent order, boohoo). I may even get another bottle before the Yules go down. I have to say I'm a little surprised it's getting so little love!

I will need to test Paladin and Hunter side by side because when I applied by Paladin imp this morning I was immediately reminded of that blend. They have the same white leather note to be sure, but Paladin has more musk whereas Hunter has soft sage. Paladin doesn't wear long, but is has a nice soft throw while it lasts. Right now I'm thinking I may buy a bottle, since I love Hunter and a subtle variation on the same theme might be nice. This is just lovely, soft and comforting.

I've never experienced such a soapy scent before. My bf even asked if I'd just showered when he smelled it. I should love it based on the notes, and I'm hoping it settles some with time, but right now it's mostly musk (which I love in all its forms) but close with a throw of clean, clean soap that must be poppy and orris. I don't usually experience soapyness with orris or musk, so I don't know where it's coming from exactly. No clove to speak of.

I purchased a bottle of this at Dark Delicacies about a year ago. It was in a bottle with a hand written label so I knew it was a rarity and that was a lot of the reason I purchased it. Buuuut... I didn't love it so I kept some for myself and sold the majority of the bottle on eBay a while back. To me it's definitely absinthe plus "other stuff" Sort of minty, and unfortunately "sickly sweet" I like it, but don't LOVE it. I hope whoever bought my bottle is enjoying it

ugh I was hoping for more emphasis on black tea and white ginger, but this is all honey, lemongrass and grains on me.. it is horrible-- totally not my thing. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned White Rabbit as well.. I get the same sour note from this one. On a funny note. my boyfriend actually liked this one and said "mmm something smells nice, what is that?" to which I replied "I think it smells horrible.. and it's called Couples Engaged in Lovemaking... so it makes sense that it smells bad I guess"

I knew the second I applied this it was going to be similar to Spawn of the She-Demon (one of my favorite red musk blends that elicits MANY compliments each time I wear it). But I was also hoping it would bring something new to the table--- I was very excited about that crushed tomato! And at first it did.. I got this awesome acidic tomato note (not green like the leaves at all) buuuuttt that died out pretty quickly and this becomes the poor man's She-Demon; artificial fruit with watered down red musk.

I often think of scents like this as "high strung." On my skin it amps to a frantic, floral, fruity cacophony. I get the peach throughout the wear, but the florals just blast everything up way too loud. It's "pretty" I guess, and I would agree it's got a soapy vibe, but it's so so so not me!

This is very closely related to Black Pearl and Staged Moon Landing. It has the same dusty orris note. As such it's very pretty, soft and comforting. I have a bottle of Staged Moon Landing so I'm not sure I'd need this one.. but I might do a Death Match between them since I do love me some orris I generally dont like honey in blends, but this one is very light on it, and I really just get a nice mixing of the orris and sandalwood with a hint of coconut.

This winds up being kinda generic and boring on my skin It's a nice soft amber with a hint of earthy patchouli, but that's really about it. Maybe aging will bring more of the notes out?

This is SUCH an interesting blend! I didn't really expect to like it but love testing the Shungas.. not to mention this has ginger in it which I don't like. BUT... this has a papery note that I love-- it's in Couple With Rutting Cats from a couple years ago too. The overall feel of this blend is sweet and delicate with a wisp of body heat.. it's kinda smokey but not really, more just like the insinuation of heat.
-
Mostly a creamy, nutty flat base with a sharp bergamot and lavender halo. This is alright, and I really wanted to like it because of the name, but it's not instant love. As it dries down some I do start to really like it though.. I echo cfrancesca-- this is kinda like tea with milk

Placing this one up there with Beanman and Beanwoman from last year and Tiki Princess as absolutely gorgeous and easy to wear coconut blends! This is a slightly nutty, warm coconut.. almost sandalwoody because it feels brown with the hazelnut. I don't really get any anise on my skin, weird. So comfy and pleasant

I ordered two bottle of The Arabian Dance and both are MUCH heavier on the coffee/leather than the decant I got from a decant circle. The decant is wonderfully spicy, almost like Morocco with a hint of coffee and leather. I still like the new bottles (thank god), but it is always strange when you encounter these batch variations. I also recently ordered a bottle of Zephyr after loving my imp (probably at least a yr old by now) to death. The bottle is DEFINITELY more floral than my imp was-- it was a lovely fuzzy musk and fresh out of the drier blanket smell. Hopefully aging will help?

Sweet, fruity, sharp and heavy... I really enjoy the mix of coconut and lavender here, it is at once both wet and lush but sharp and high pitched. The other notes emphasize this juxtaposition... the fruits add juicy depth while the florals buzz around the top notes. The entire thing is very very sweet as well. Over time I found this just a little too sharp and too sweet for my usual tastes, but it is very pretty.

Hello rice pudding! I love to eat rice pudding but I am decidedly NOT a foody... Even though the notes in this kinda aim for sweet, I'm a bit surprised at just how foody this does feel to me. I don't get the souring of the cream like some have, but I do get something smelling a bit "bready" around the edges... primarily clove and ginger, but yes that cream is there adding a heaviness and damn if this isn't just incredibly sweet! Dunno if I will wind up keeping it.. I do love the artwork tho

When I first applied this blend I immediately thought of Tiki Princess-- which I wore a LOT last summer. I have a feeling this could be my blend for this summer. It's light, definitely a low throw blend. I has a very crisp, white feel to it-- simple, soft and pretty. I can feel everything blended together very well.. no one note sticks out to me. I know the vanilla bean is only adding a bit of sweetness because this doesnt go plasticy on me like soooo many other vanilla blends do. So if you're worried about that, dont be. Overall I'd say it's a little dry, a little musky and a little sweet. I generally prefer stronger/more throwy scents, but this one is pretty much fail proof for those days when I need an easy go to that wont be overpowering.

I havent smelled this since I got it in Nov. because I"m not really a pumpkin fan. But I just tried some and it's pretty darn good! I'd say its heavy on vanilla, and I'm also getting something like.. pear maybe? and very light pumpkin. I like that its not a traditional "spiced pumpkin" scent.. I find it very wearable!
