Imp: Floral cologne. Bit sour Wet: Bubblegum-y but still floral. Not getting vetiver, thank heaven Drydown: Guess that's peach and floral...eh Overall: Kind of a musty floral shrug. Not much going on. Meh.

Sweetened iced white tea! It's so crisp and clean with plenty of sweetness. The lemon isn't overpowering. It feels like the perfect iced beverage for summer. I really need a bottle before the dog days of summer hit. A great companion to The Dormouse, but (like the Mouse) she'll need plenty of slathering to really have a presence.

I've only got a DROP of this to test, so I gotta make it count I'm having trouble picking out distinct notes but, this is wonderful. I can sense some berry and cream. If there's leather in this, it's not like the leather in Whip that went plastic on me. Maybe I need to get that note another stab. Something spicy shows up to compliment the berry and cream. Maybe that's the paper bag. Miskatonic U's paper smells spicy on me, so I'm going to go for that. DAMNIT! Why do I try and find these old LEs!? It's going to be torture to try and find a bottle now but I NEED one. I would wear this like crazy. GAH

Imp: Candy and mint, but not mint candy Wet: Mint and licorice with a bit of lemon after a few second Drydown: Mint and anise cookies with some lemon zest. Overall: I'm totally on board the Mojito description, and I'm guessing it's the wormwood that's giving it such a unique edge. It's a really neat scent, I just know I'd never wear it.

Imp: Like Cologne Wet: Gloomy dirt. Drydown: Damp and gloomy alright. This isn't the nice happy dirt of Death Cap. This is dirt that doesn't like you very much ans wishes you would leave it alone Overall: Eeep. No.
-
Imp: Amber and spices Wet: Creamy amber. Not powdery, but not much of anything Drydown: It goes through a phase where it's really just amber, but eventually iris becomes noticeable. No berries, but plenty of amber and spice. Not powdery. Overall: It's pretty nice, but nowhere near as complex as I was hoping for. It's pretty much just amber. Some of the nicest amber I've ever smelled, but I was really hoping for more

Imp: Rose, tangerine, carnation, and some sour jasmine Wet: Tangerine and a still sour jasmine Drydown: Yick. Sour plastic jasmine. Too bad This has so many awesome notes going for it

Finally got my hands on some! I really just love the imagery and the name. No idea how it'll turn out...hopefully not like cinnamon gum. This imp looks to be about two years, old, so let that color your impression of the review Imp: A cool kinda smokey. Cinnamon is just a light background player Wet: Smooth, smokey myrrh. A note I'm not usually fond of, but with the cinnamon bark it's actually quite fun! Drydown: It's sweet and smooth with just a bit of bite. I'm shocked at how much I like this. Normally I can't take a smokey smell but this is very spicy and appealing Overall: I love a BPAL surprise!I would have expected this to be a cinnamon disaster, but it smooth and sultry with just a little cinnamon bite. I'll be hanging on to the decant and I wouldn't be surprised if a bottle turned up at some point.

Another Yeats scent with juniper? Hmm. Sensing a theme Bottle: Juniper, a teeny weeny bit of pine, and some soft flowers Wet: Oh hello, lily my friend. You're smelling lovely with the juniper tagging along. Drydown: Phase 1) Cool and earthy yet romantic at the same time. Smooth, light flowers with juniper and pine to back them up Phase 2) Juniper deserves a medal of valor for it's brave fight in holding back the rabid plumeria that usually goes ape on my skin. Still sweet and pine-y clean. And is that vanilla I detect hiding behind the lily? Phase 3) Soft, clean and loveable. I'm going to be all about this in the hot months

Imp: Wine and cider with carnation spice Wet: Mmmm! Don't know how to describe it, but it sure smells good! Really blended. Drydown: I love it! It's deep without being too dark. Carnation and posies give it a lovely sweet quality over the wine and sandy cider Overall: Mmmm...And of course I just finished placing an order that didn't include this...It sweet and full. Fells very "little girl playing at being a lady" but it's by no means immature. This is awesome, but a full bottle will have to wait until the next order.

Imp: Ooof! Pepper! Maybe a touch of ginger Wet: PEPPER...and cheese? Oh God this smells exactly like the cut-rate-carbonara I make for myself (spaghetti w/ peccorino, little cream to bind it, and a LOAD of pepper) all the time. Drydown: Well that's better. Still pepper like woah but with some honey and something clean mixed in. Overall: There's nothing wrong with this scent, per se...but it's just too odd for me. I love me some pepper, but I'm not sure I need to smell like it.

Imp: Cheery citrus with some musk to calm it down Wet: Oooo. Smooth and creamy citrus. Not as bright as i was expecting. Something new and fun! Drydown: Citrus is very subdued and it's mostly musky smooth rose with an edge of brightness. Overall: This definitely needs another look. I could imagine it getting quite a bit of summer wear
-
Bottle: Tropical fruits, sweet pea and most of all sugared vanilla cream! Wet: Still a fun, creamy tropical fruit. Very sweet! So far I love it. Drydown: This so gorgeous. The carnation only takes a little while to come out and turn it in to a sweet, fruity and just a little spicy dream Overall: I'm going to plow through this bottle over the spring and summer. Since I only started getting in to BPAL over the fall and winter, I don't have a whole lot of peppy summer scents, but this tropical cousin of Alice should fit the bill nicely

Testable sniffie! Imp: Spicy apples Wet: NOM NOM NOM spicy apple and citrus Drydown: This is amazingly well rounded. It's just a delicious spicy apple scent with a gentle floral touch at the end of the sniff. Lovely spice and fruit Overall: I'm so conflicted. This smells amazingly good, I just don't know if I'm going to wear it regularly...but pretty spice...WANT

Ahhh...The famous Dorian, at last (thanks to a generous frimp). Let's see how we fare... Imp: ...Oh that's nice. I have no idea what's going on in that imp, but I like it Wet: Eee! Sweet and lemony. I think the trick here it to have the blend *not* turn to cleaning solution Drydown: Okay I REALLY like this. Maybe too much. Tea has come out to play, but the sugar and lemon are hanging in there. Overall: Love it, want a bottle, but I must be good and do a full day test. It so sweet and cozy. The lemon's a team player, and anything with black tea in it gets automatic points from me. After full day: ...yeah I went and got a bottle...It's sweet and musky and smells so comforting. It's been rainy and gloomy out in the Philly burbs for days now and Dorian has made me feel so warm and cozy with it's sweet, musky vanilla-ness
-
Imp: Honeysuckle and Jasmine and moisture Wet: Mmmm! Honeysuckle and Benzoine! It's almost herbal on me! Oakmoss? Drydown: Awww...it's just reverting to jasmine...I like jasmine and all, but I've already got plenty Overall: I'm not willing to give up on this just yet. The wet stage is really cool and I think with a bit more oil on the skin I'll be able to keep that drowning white floral smell.
-
Imp: Honey and Lilies all right! Wet: Mmmm. That's a nice lily Drydown: Sweet golden lily. Simple scent, done right. Overall: I LOVE lilies. I've been looking for just the right lily scent since I started with BPAL and I think this might be it! Bottle Audition!
-
Imp: Rose... Wet: Rose... Drydown: ROSE Overall: Aw, man...this is so annoying. There's so much great stuff in the notes list, but it might as well be single note rose. So much for the aquatic white florals I was hoping for...
-
Imp: Eucalyptus and juniper. Kinda sweet Wet: I got an air freshener from a gas station like this once... Drydown: Cypress, pine, and menthol cough drops. Overall: I gave this one a try for laughs. So not my style, but really it wasn't the terminally scarring disaster that Wolfsbane was on me, so that's nice
-
I know this'll go down in flames on my skin, but trying things is fun! Imp: Cherry and cassia. Maybe patchouli Wet: Mme Morriarity's Big Red chewing step-sister Drydown: Cinnamon Gum. This actually goes down in complexity as I wear it. Meh
-
Bottle: The Cherry Almond thing from Danna O'Shee, but with something very green underneath. Lily and apple, I suspect Wet: Almond and lily again. There is rose in this, right? Oh and honey. LOTS of honey. It needs a good long drydown to calm the eff down with the honey. Honey has a tendency to be all up in the other notes' business on my skin's wet stage Drydown: Wow this is a complex scent. There's just so much going on it's hard to really wrap my head around whether or not it's working on me. First of all, this is like Danna O'Shee on steroids. So much honey and almond. But there's something else. A clean floral that I think it Lily of the Valley mixed with myrrh. It takes a long time for the rose to come out and it must be exhausted from the trip because it's not eating my arm. Overall: This is a toughie. There's just so much to it that its hard to really pin down an opinion. I need to wear it around a bit to see how it feels. Like a pair of shoes

Imp: "O HAI. I'M 'AQUATIC' AND THIS IS MY BUDDY, 'CEDAR.' WE'RE GONNA MAKE YER ARM SMELL LIKE CLEANING PRODUCT KTHX" Wet: Oh it's not all that at all. There's berry in here! And no wood chips! It's actually promising, so far. Drydown: Holy crap this is awesome! Aloe and ozone are two notes I'm going to have to search out with a vengeance. Overall: It's so pretty! I was really nervous on the impsniff, but on the skin it really mellows out in to a berry-aquatic-greenery blend that's super wearable.
-
Bottle: Sweet Pea, pear, and lettuce! I'm so glad this isn't just another generic aquatic meant to placate the Crab Wet: Chamomille and sweet pea. Something oddly flat, too, but it's filling out already as it dries. Drydown: Very light and sweet floral. I think it's the lettuce keeping this from getting too cloying, but it's a very soft and sweet smell. Very calming to me Overall: This scent is such a sweetie! I know that's an odd choice of words, but it's a light, fluffy, calm feeling. You just want to give it a hug. I love having something soft and comforting in my BPAL stable so I'm very glad to have this bottle
-
Imp: Honeysuckle! Brings back really good childhood memories of debating with friends on the playground whether or not these flowers were edible Wet: More honeysuckle It's such a fresh flower scent. Jasmine's giving depth, but this is honeysuckle's show. Drydown: Sweet, glowing...Gah I just really like it. When you can role a scent memory in to an oil...that's a winner. I miss being 6. Overall: This song best sums it up. It's cheerful and gentle. I'm gonna wear the hell out of it this spring and summer. Probably going to need a bottle when I have the money
-
Imp: NOM NOM NOM. Smelling like Beaver'versary Wet: Beaver'versary, but better. Yeah. I said it. This has a depth that Versary lost as soon as it hit my skin. Drydown: Spice cake, normal white cake, vanilla and those awesome currants Overall: This is what I was hoping for out of Beaver'versary. I got straight gramh crackers out of that one, but this has much more depth. Really needs a full day wear to be sure
