Reading, costuming, period clothing, steampunk, cyberpunk, meditating, writing, drawing, acting, LARPing, swimming, roleplaying, dancing, seeing both sides in a debate/conversation, drinking mass quantities of coffee, baking things that should never see the light of day, not sleeping, debating, being redundent, forgetting that there are people around when I dance...Hunting zombies... modifying nerf guns...All very useful skills, haha. Gene Pitney, The Deftones, Yanni, Ed Von Fleet, Dragonforce, Lesiem, Basshunter, Enya, Sarah Brightman, The Ting Tings, Daft Punk, Poe, Muse, A Perfect Circle, Gorillaz, E Nomine, Dope Star Inc, OK Go, Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Bjork, Drowning Pool, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Cocteau Twins, VNV Nation, Project Pitchfork, London After Midnight, Silverchair, Animal Collective, The Academy Is, Disturbed, Type O Negative, Mindless Self Indulgence, Flyleaf, H.O.T, Death Cab for Cutie, Garbage, Ozzy Osborne, Tori Amos, Semi Precious Weapons, Lesiem, songs from video games, Cascada, Kellis and various more. I have a weak spot for Dark Wave, Techno, Trance, and Industrial..heavy metal..and just about anything that I can lose myself to/dance to. Love singing Jazz, too. Best genre to kareoke to, in my opinion. Lovecraft, Shadowrun, Clive Barker, Georgette Heyer and Orson Scott Card, though. Dune...um...wow, I really like too many books. The Game of Thrones series stole my heart...However, I will admit as well that my favorite books are I Never Promised you a Rose Garden and 1984. Anything about a dystopic environment or unstable mindset will get my attention. Into the Mouth of Madness (Anything inspired by Lovecraft, actually), The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, Party Monster, Hellraiser 1-8, Devil wears Prada, Hackers...I'll stop anything I'm doing to watch Evil Dead or a really really really corny and cheesy zombie movie. Also a fangirl of things that boggle the mind, movie-wise.

There's more but I don't want to write too much. :D

  • Favorite Scents
Violet, Lavendar, Ylang Ylang, Musk, Frankiscense, Lemon is nice...but Blood Orange is better, and GARDENIA! Those are all my favorites but I'm prone to wearing more. The only thing I cannot wear is overwhelming almond. I don't mind boozy almond scents...but sickeningly sweet sugary almond scents turn my stomach. Other then citrus, I'm not too big on fruity scents either. Nor super floral. Candy, masculine, spicy, and tangy scents are all awesome, though.

Recs for Role-Playing Games (RPG), LARP and Cosplay

I play in two LARPs, one's a sci-fi/steampunk and the other's a fantasy rennaissance sort. For the sci-fi one I play as a redneck character and tend to wear smokey earthy scents that border on boozy due to the fact that she works in the fields and does manual labor. To get that feel, I tend to slather myself with heavily incense-y things (Particularly Baron Samedi). My backup character is something of a gaudy and decadent spinster, so I'm planning on buying a full bottle of The Obsidian Widow and practically bathing in it before each game. As it is, I use my imp of it to get myself in character whenever I practice the accent/personality. My other character is a frost elf- stoic, beautiful, cold, and merciless. I use Violet Ray for that. The chill of the mint and the lovely violet scent mesh together perfectly into something electric and frigid. It works perfectly.

    The Obsidian Widow

In the bottle, it's like a wine bottle smacked me upside the head. If 'decadent old spinsters that enjoyed their booze too much' was ever an official scent, this would be it. Cheerfully, I slathered it on myself. Very heavy, the dark wine and roses fought a war on my skin before the alcohol backed down. After a few moments, I smelled like the most gleefully gaudy bouquet on this side of the planet. Not for everyday use but I can definitely use it for a couple of characters and I can completely see the 'steampunk' aspect of it. Definitely a scent saved for an aristocrat. I feel like speaking with a drawling British or snooty French accent when I wear this, haha! I may just have to buy a bottle of this when I use up my imp!

In the bottle- A heady sweet caramel coffee. Delicious if not a bit strong for me since I tend to like my coffee black and bitter. On the skin- Oh dear gods! What an obnoxious scent! I actually got nausous from the smell of the Irish coffee, it was so strong and buttery. Just the sort of thing that makes me feel ill! I didn't get any wood out of the mix yet but I'm holding my arm as far away as humanly possible. This part just really doesn't sync with my skin AT ALL! After a while- And I thought it couldn't get worse. The sweet smell has faded and now lingers like something putrid and rotting in the background. The nose-clogging dominant feel I get from the rest is that I'm rolling around in a musty old attic or basement. I do smell a familiar part that reminds me of all the yellowing pages from books of my childhood....but it's overwhelmed by the 'Something-died-in-my-basement' feel that I get from it. I think I'll pass on this one...

    Nyarlathotep

In the Bottle- A sharp ozone that overpowers all other scents. It smells of burning with barely any noticable lemons... I want to say something like burning anise. First on the skin...It develops into something dark and woodsy with a the lemon hiding in the background, just bidding its time as all the other scents flaunt themselves. The burning soon fades away into the background leaving a sharp burning citric scent. The longer it's on...the more I begin to smell like the most evil lemon drop in existance. I'm thinking of chaotic lemon tarts now. My skin has this terrible habit of making everything (I do mean everything) smell like candy on me....Nyarlathotep is no different. It was a nice try, though! I do rather like the smell but I'll hand it off to someone who can carry the darker part of the oil without ruining the effect.
