I'm still searching for a signature scent, though Hetairae might just be it. In bottle: really sickeningly sweet. Does not bode well. Wet: Actually much better. Deep incense, honey, high floral notes, and a touch of spice. Dry-down: It smells like I'm digging through an antiques shop and come up with some perfume from a faraway land, in an exquisitely cut glass vessel. It's old in the way that it hearkens back to a time past, and yet the honey notes keep it playful and not stuffy. 1 hour later: I still love it. I think this goes in my Top 5.

In my search for a scent for the boy, I tried Loup Garou on him, with mixed results. In bottle: PINE. And something almost deep underneath. Wet: Still pine. There's a bit of a musky scent there, but it's faint. Dry-down: It's still mostly pine. I sort of like it, but it's not really a HIM scent. We'll try something else.

I got this as a freebie (Whoo-hoo!) and I was very excited because it had been on my short list to get anyway. Sadly, it didn't turn out well. In bottle: Fruity incense. There's the sandalwood and orange blossom. Wet: A fruit wine comes through with a smooth incense blend underneath. There's a touch of the rose, which I enjoy. Dry-down: A sophisticated, worldly scent, very feminine. 1 hour later: Baby powder. Dammit.

I was in a rush when I opened this and sort of spilled it, so what I got was a whole lot more scent than I expected. Very spicy sweet at the beginning. At a play reading, sipping my red wine, and I couldn't stop smelling my wrist. The magnolia mingled with the spice and musk, and the slight sweetness poked through sometimes. It was warm, spicy, dark, and sexy, and so perfect for me. I need a big bottle of this.

Blood Kiss is an interesting one, and the first one I tried in the few Imps I got. In bottle: Something very sweet and sharp is hitting me; not sure if this is going to work or not. On wrist, wet: It's becoming complex. I can finally figure out that the sharp spicy scent is cloves, and it's mellowing into something very nice. The vanilla and cherry start to rise to the top. Dry: This has mellowed into something deliciously dark that I really enjoy. I get hints of the clove, the cherry has faded to a sometimes sweetness, and the honey/vanilla is melding with that undertone of musk. The boyfriend comes home in a few hours; gonna go put a bit more on and surprise him.
