An extremely ‘clean’, extremely positive, gentle-but-powerful oil. Use this oil for healing rites (physical, emotional, and psychological), when beginning new ventures, and to bless new unions, births, and rites of passage. Blessing oil is used to cleanse and sanctify new homes, businesses, and sacred spaces, ensuring that you begin your endeavors there with a clean slate. I'm hoping this is the right thread. Blessing oil summer 2014. It's beautiful. It has a really rosey scent, with a green background. It makes me feel happy. However, I'm wondering if it has brought a lot of painful stuff to the surface in order to let go of it. This has been hard. It may be coincidental but I have been having an odd time recently, really suffering alternating with feeling very peaceful.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
cinnamonster replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Black moths has some notes but not all. -
It's the base of Attrocious Attic to me, without the rosiness. I get the comparison to Antique Lace also. There was an awful moment at the beginning where it smelled on skin likeold vase water, but it quickly dissipated. I think I like it.

Showers of Gold
cinnamonster replied to UltraViolet's topic in Prosperity, Success, and Good Fortune
The last time I used this I found an envelope with money in in my home. I'd put it aside for a specific bill as per the writing on the outside, and completely forgotten it for two years!! There was £50 in it iirc! I've used this very sparingly and sporadically as I only had a small decant but it does work. -
Mental impression: light through a reddish pink gem stone. Scent: there's something about this that reminds me of I think Doves Heart. There's also a hint of whatever makes Hod smell metallic to me. I'm guessing there's clove, carnation. I've only just used this so I can't post any significant findings other than it seems very relaxing. I've been a bit stressed today, then went really tired. I'm now more mentally alert but my body is melting. Very happy. Edited to remove lavender as I'm not sure it's in here. It's hard to get a good idea of this, very close up there's an almost violet vibe going on. I really like it!

Can you explain why there was hardly anything in it then? The base was incredibly thick/high but the fill level really low. The machine can't work perfectly as I've had two bottles of Dorian, one average, the other nearly full to the lid.
-
My bottle of Anesthesia was the lowest fill I've ever had, way below the shoulder, and the base of the bottle was way thicker than normal meaning even less in it. If the bottles are filled by weight, extra glass in the bottle would mean you get less oil.

At its best on me this was a bit like alyssum single note and a bit like a night blooming garden. At worst it headed into screech, and my bf said I smelt like a urinal cake. I swapped it.

I haven't gotten my nose around this fully, but it's superduperly beautiful on me. Whatever state my skin is in right now, this loves me. It's rose, but not take-over rose, swirled into a deep almost wooden smell. Definitely not a red feeling rose either. First sniff it brought to mind a dark buffed wooden box filled with liqueur preserved cherries, that smell doesn't last, but that's the dark feel behind the rose. Don't buy it though! I might need more!

It's really tobacco-y. Such a shame as I wanted coffee too, the cardomom is there a little but it's mainly tobacco.
-
Very strong tobacco with a hint of spice. Not what I hoped for, sadly.
-
For me the stand out notes are:lily, frankincense and pepper. I'm not sure how often I would wear it but I like it and I was surprised that bf did too, but I think it's the pepper, he's a pepper addict.

I ordered this because i love rosewood, i expected sonetging that lay close to the skin, like smoke rolling along. For some reason it makes me think of the film Gremlins. I thought I was getting something that represented the man who sells the mogwai, but it fast morphs into something more befitting a floral gremlin! It has enormous throw, way above my usual perfume choices. The scent itself is tough to describe, it has a clean floral aspect with a slightly smoky undertone, with something green, if only the throw was lessened, i would like it more. Not at all what I imagined. It's a war of mandarin and what smells like dark musk. I really don't like it. It doesn't have an instant recoil factor but it gets more cloying with each sniff.

Not strawberry for me but raspberry! Delicious cooked raspberries! Wonderful!

I ordered this based on an impression of a long-gone imp. I don't think it's quite the same as I remembered. In the bottle: pencil shavings! On skin: pencil shavings, fading as something floral appears. Very oddly, as citrus is normally a first smelled note for me and fastest to leave, it takes a minute or two for the mandarin to appear. I don't really know how to describe this. It's way sweeter now, and more so than my memory of it. Will I keep it? Not sure.

Kneel Down, Fair Love, and Fill Thyself with Tears
cinnamonster replied to GoldenRubee's topic in Lupercalia
Quiet and close to the skin, I expected this to be cooler somehow, but it's warm. It definitely fits grey as a scent colour. Primarily orris, the musk comes through quite quickly I'm amping up the musk, it's pretty much a twin note scent for me. This was the one I was thinking I would love the most, but I'm not sure how much I will go for this! -
Reminds me very much of black lace, if the linen note were removed. Side by side the black lace smells like it has tea/linen, but I find the undertone very similar. Death... Smells warm and dark, vanilla bolstered by cognac and clove. It has a smooth powderiness later, but it fades so fast, the opium I think, but I'm a bit disappointed. I love the scent but it dies too fast

The Sunlight and the Moonlight Fall from Thee
cinnamonster replied to GoldenRubee's topic in Lupercalia
This is spicy in the bottle, but on skin, strongly lily-frankincense. It amps up on the lily for a while but settles into soft frankincense later. I'm not really getting the other notes. -
First sniff: reminds me of Dia. Then a greenness comes through. I'm not finding it high pitched at all, it seems fairly elegant in an almost Private Collection (Estée Lauder) way. Not the same scent, but of that era. Later it sweetens and becomes warmer, there's a hint more orange blossom to it then. It's beautiful.
-
It's pretty, but quickly turns to cherry blossom soap on skin. Nice if you want to smell clean.
-
This was so powerful in the vial, I recoiled and couldn't try it on skin, it has a powerful jasmine note and is peppery and pungent. I didn't like it at all.
-
It's like green tea\cologne, it's high pitched and headachy
-
It smells like spellbound to me but with a burning ancient incense type vibe added in. If you haven't smelled spellbound for comparison this smells rosy/musky/dark/smoky.

Lavender rice pudding! I adore this. Must have more!
