Beth, I say this in all love and respect, but damn you for making me cry. Those of you who know me know I lost my heart-dog, my fifteen-year companion, Stormy, aka Bigfoot, in May of this year. In the last moments of his last day, in the vet's office, I buried my face in his head, and said to the receptionists and friends who where in the room with me that Stormy never "smelled like dog" unless he was soaking wet. His fur was always sweet-smelling. One whiff of Pa-Pow and I was right back there, with my nose buried in Stormy's fur. I'm sure it's not an exact replica, but it's close enough to make me cry for my loss, for Beth and Ted's loss and to smil through the tears at remembering all the joy Stormy brought me and which I am sure Pa-Pow gave to her humans.

The review is here: http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=628 and you've got a good nose! I'm with you on rose = swaps!

Yes, yes, yes! This is definitely a deeper, darker green scent--I'm getting dandelion even though that isn't listed, and lots of brooding dark leaves. Bottle-worthy.

On my skin, there is a lot of amber, a little citrus and no geranium. I thought maybe I was amping the amber (ambing? lol), so I tried it in my locket. The orange was still swamped by the amber.

It starts off as a spicy-sweet clove and cinnamon scent, and then settles down to straight red musk. I need to try it in a scent locket to see if I need a bottle.

When am I going to learn that no matter how good the descriptions sound, I don't want to smell like apples? For someone who does want to smell like apples, this is a very evocative fall scent. On my skin, it smells like a broken-off branch from an apple tree--lots of wood, a leaf or two, and a ripe apple, bursting with juice.

This utterly defeats my nose as far as identifying specific notes, but it's dusty, leafy, dark and a little perfumey. Pretty, but a decant is fine.

I don't get the brandy note at all, just a lot of very ripe dark cherries. While I wanted the brandy note, it's nice to find a cherry that doesn't turn into boiled peanuts on me. I'm happy with my decant.

I wanted this to work on me, because I love geranium. In the bottle, it was very medicinal to the point where I recoiled. Wet on my skin it was overripe, fleshy fruit (the fig?). Dry, I'm still getting the too-rich fruit note, but also some medicinal zing. Fortunately, it's very light.

Oh, my, I have neglected this bottle since March of 2008, and I don't know if it has aged or if it was always this glorious and I didn't notice. Wet, it smelled like dandelions and grass. Now, about eight hours after I put it on, it smells like small, puny dandelions and wispy grass trying to grow on the mossy floor of a deep, dark green forest.

When I wear this, all I can see is two little acai berries, sharing a cigarette in a rumpled bed. It's a perfect balance of berry and musk, and not only do I feel confident and sexy when I wear it, I get a ton of compliments!

This is one of the very few lavender scents that doesn't make me sleepy. I love that lavender will do that for me--I've never needed sleeping pills! Sometimes, though, I like to wear lavender during the day, and drooling on my keyboard is sort of frowned upon at work. Yvaine is a sharp, light lavender. Somehow, the magnolia makes it a sparkly lavender. If Twilight vampires wore lavender, this is what I would smell like!

Fresh, this is a flirty, fruity, plummy carnation, a girl-next-door scent. Aged, this is a deep, sexy carnation, an order a pizza and molest the delivery driver scent. Can't lose either way.

A gerbil ate an orange, then peed on his bedding. Very not me.

On me, this is a pretty vanilla musk, very soft. However, I wanted to smell the cherry blossoms, and I couldn't. I may try layering it with Hanami. An imp-keeper, but not a bottle purchase.

I love the spicy smells of chrysanthemums and marigolds. Sadly, on me, this was a vanilla floral with no spice at all. I found my imp a good home, though!

On me, Nuclear Winter '08 smells like drinking unsweetened spearmint tea in front of an open window with a pine tree in the back yard. I don't know if that's particularly desolate, but I love it! Bath & body products I use as a base for this: Skindecent's Moroccan Mint scrub and conditioner.

This is one of my favorite scents, and one of my few multi-bottle scents. It's almost pure dandelion on me, flowers and stems and leaves all wet from last night's rain but now warming up in the afternoon sun. Bath & body products I use with this: None, because it's too unique. I bought a bunch of unscented things from Skindecent and added The School-House for scent.
