    Athens

In the imp: Before I even got the imp open, I could smell the honey. Upon opening, the wine joins the party. On, wet: Goodness, this scent is so very strong. It smells like ruined wine on my skin, the kind that is just starting to turn to vinegar. On, dry: Honey, wine and florals. This isn't terribly complex -- it feels like a giant, sticky base layer of honey, then spilled wine, then powdery flowers. The throw on this is insane.

    March Hare

In the imp: Lovely, juicy apricots and deep, woodsy cloves. On, wet: Exactly the same as in the imp. It does smell a bit like a candle. On, dry: This stays true from imp to drydown. It's apricot with just a bit of a spicy component. It's a bit heady, and toward the end it turned slightly fake-plastic-fruit on me.

    Man With Phallus Head

In the imp: The first whiff is honey, the second is currant, and then I get the musk. On, wet: Honey, but not like the honey in something like Bengal -- this is light, sweet, floral honey. On, dry: Light, musky honey. It's nice, but I'm only really getting honey, and there are other honey blends I like better.

    Ghûlheim

In the imp: Oddly, this reminds me a lot of Dragon's Claw, even though they don't have any listed notes in common. This is dark and musky and kind of dry. On, wet: Musk and powder. I wish I was getting the cola that a lot of others have gotten. On, dry: Holy moly, this changes a lot from wet to dry. It's all pepper and herbs on me now, with maybe the lightest touch of something soapy. It really is "dark and disjointed."

Manners Among Men and Women in the Red Light District

In the imp: Drinking shots of apricot saki off of an unfinished wood table. On, wet: Pretty much the same smell as in the imp, although I'm also detecting something maybe a little floral. On, dry: Apricot and wood. I don't really smell the saki anymore (Maybe the alcohol burned off? Heh.). The floral note that I picked up earlier has become slightly more prominent.

    Voyeurs Among the Cherry Blossoms

In the imp: This is a bright, white, clean medicinal smell. On, wet: Mmmmm, soft moss and very gentle cherry blossoms. It's like laundry drying outside on a spring day. Delicious! On, dry: Whomever said that this is "pink" was exactly right. This is all cherry blossoms and nothing else on me, to the point that it almost smells like soap. This is an incredibly feminine smell. I don't really like it, but I'm glad I gave it a shot.

    Lovers in a Ricefield

In the imp: A very clean scent. It smells a lot like rice to me without much else, which is surprising. Let's see if the sandalwood is stronger when it's on... On, wet: Plum! And rice. I'm finding it a little weird to have my arm smell so much like rice. On, dry: It's nice, though kind of nondescript. I'm not so sure that vanilla notes work on me -- it's not turning into anything plastic or gross, but it's just generic.

    Tissue

In the imp: Gardenia all the way. Pure, unadulterated floral. On, wet: Flowers! Flowers! OMG, flowers here, hello! On, dry: Just gardenia. The honey and the rice paper never appeared for me, which isn't surprising since I am florals like whoa. Not for me, but nice on the right person.

    Couple Consulting an Enpon

In the imp: Gosh, this does *not* smell like I'd expected. It's darker, warmer, and there's almost something smoky to it. I smell the mint, but it's not like any mint I'm familiar with -- it smells aged rather than fresh. On, wet: Aged mint and wood. It's... I'm conflicted. Do I love it? Do I hate it? Do I polish my floors with it? On, dry: Minty wood. So, so weird.

    Giant Vulva

In the imp: A delicious blend of musk, sugar and beeswax. The musk smells light and gentle. On, wet: I'm really getting something floral out of this, with bits of the honey underneath. It's a really nice, light sweet smell that almost gets a little lemony. On, dry: Sugared flowers. This is what I imagine White Chocolate and Sugared Violets would smell like without the white chocolate. I really am getting something clean and citrusey from this as well. I like it, but I think maybe some aging will do it good.

    Cheshire Cat

In the bottle: Musk and citrus. I know from the notes that the citrus is grapefruit, but in the bottle it just smells light and citrus-ey. On, wet: Hello, grapefruit! Tart and juicy, it's pretty much all that I can smell at this stage. On, dry: This stays pretty true, remaining strong on the grapefruit and light on any other notes. I really like this.

    Mr. Nancy

In the bottle: Rum and sugar. Or maybe just sweet rum. Whichever, this smells like yummy booze in the bottle. On, wet: From far away, it's rum, cookies and lime. When I put my nose closer, I get something oddly astringent, like menthol. On, dry: I like the occasional wafts of this scent that I get whenever I move my arm, but I don't like it when I actually put my nose to my wrist. There's a too-bitter alcohol note at the base of this that isn't working for me.

    Thirteen (13): February 2009

In the bottle: Very herbal smelling. I particularly get the ginger, but no chocolate or brown sugar at all. On, wet: First whiff, I instantly get the chocolate. I certainly smell the lavender, and I'm wondering how all of the various notes are going to meld. On, dry: I'm not sure that the notes ever really melded. This smells like baking something delicious in a kitchen filled with florals. It's a bit of a heady scent, and it makes me feel kind of conflicted.

Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal

In the bottle: Jeez, is that what clotted cream smells like? Because this isn't something I'd ever want to eat. It smells like spoiled milk and citrus. On, wet: Okay, my first instinct upon smelling this on my skin is to say, "UGH." But then I sniff closer, and I can smell the vanilla and the grapefruit. I really, really hope whatever it is that smells like spoiled dairy fades fast, because I like the notes underneath. On, dry: Okay, the spoiled milk scent isn't vanishing, but it does stick close to my skin, while the other notes kind of float up and away. I have to put my nose to my arm to smell the dairy, but I do still smell it, and I still don't like it.

    E Pluribus Unum

In the bottle: Flowersflowersflowers, although none is strong enough to overpower the others. There's a coolness to this in the bottle that I wasn't expecting. On, wet: The second it touches my skin, this turns to baby powder, as almost all florals do. Uch. On, dry: Okay, this is weird... It's flowers, but not *florals*, if you know what I mean. Sometime between minute 10 and minute 15, this morphed into something I could really adore. It's sweet and cool and sparkly.

Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues

In the bottle: Grapefruit? On, wet: Ah, what I thought was grapefruit in the bottle turns out to be lemon when wet. This is super light and refreshing with just the right mix of musk to keep it kind of earthy. On, dry: YUM! This is red berries and lime, with just the right amount of earthy herbs for balance. I keep catching whiffs of this and wondering what smells so good before I realize -- it's me!
  17. catatonic1242

    Fruit Moon

In the bottle: Fruit punch! Lovely, sweet, icy cold fruit punch. On, wet: So many fruits, yet I'm still getting something strangely floral. On, dry: Strange floral smell is completely gone, and this is all fruits and bubbles. I adore this -- it's light and nice without being too sweet or cloying or foody. Just a nice, natural fruit scent.

    Milk Chocolate Buttercream

In the bottle: The creamiest, most luxurious milk chocolate. This ain't no Hersey bar -- this is gourmet. On, wet: Rich chocolate frosting, or maybe fudge. I can't decide between the two, and now I'm hungry. On, dry: Stays pretty true, doesn't go all weirdly powdery like I half-expected it to. There's just a hint of something boozy in the background, but this is pretty much pure, delicious chocolate. Unfortunately, I can't think of an occasion where I'd want to smell like chocolate, and I think this could ruin my diet...

    White Chocolate and Sugared Violets

In the bottle: White chocolate and the slightest essence of something very lightly floral. On, wet: I smell the sugared violets for the briefest of moments before the white chocolate completely takes over. Much like my experience with White Chocolate and Strawberry, the white chocolate is the dominant force here, completely overpowering the sugared violets. On, dry: Plain white chocolate, which to my nose does smell different than either the milk chocolate or the dark chocolate notes. It's very sweet, but without the hint of violets that I'd been hoping for.

    Dark Chocolate and Pepper-Smoked Caramel

Backstory: Because I work out-of-state Monday-Thursday, I sent my girlfriend to the Dirty South Will-Call with a list of things that I wanted to try if they had them in stock. This was there, but she sniffed it, decreed that she didn't like it in the bottle, and brought me home White Chocolate and Strawberries instead. I did finally get my hands on it when I bought the last bottle at the Roswell Whole Foods. In the bottle: Spicy caramel with a subtle note of chocolate in the very back. Mostly caramel, though. On, wet: Lovely and spicy, with just a hint of something that makes me think, "clean." I don't know what that is. On, dry: Caramel and dark chocolate, so sweet as to be almost cloying but not quite. It's very nice, although four hours later, my skin has soaked it all up and I can only smell it if I hold my nose directly to my wrist.

    No. 93 Engine

In the bottle: Spicy and smoky, with just the barest peep of something softly lemony in the background. On, wet: I'm getting something that almost smells like black pepper and lemon. On, dry: Engine oil and incense. And... lemon Pledge?
  22. catatonic1242

    Dragon's Milk

In the bottle: Sweet and earthy (but not dirt). I get the barest touch of honey as well. On, wet: Plastic and cherries? Oh, dear. On, dry: This smells exactly like cherry Luden's throat lozenges. Not horrible, but wow, not expected.

    The Magi

In the bottle: I get something that smells like menthol or eucalyptus, and I wonder if that's the frankincense -- I'm not familiar enough with that note to know exactly. I also get a twinge of fresh vanilla. On, wet: A wild mishmash of notes. Every time I sniff it, I get a different hint of something, from vanilla to gold to white wine. It's very schizophrenic. On, dry: This dries into a nice, clean smell, although I can't really pinpoint a single note. It smells like the most delicious spice cabinet. Good throw on this one, too.

    Perversion

In the bottle: Spicy rum with a background of leather and just the barest hint of tobacco. On, wet: Masculine and spicy, though kind of overpowering. It made me sneeze a bit when I first put it on. On, dry: Almost entirely new-car leather. I smell like a Wilson's. This would be lovely layered with something else, but the pure leather is just a bit too much for me to wear alone.

    Water of Notre Dame

In the imp: Light, very light, floral and perfume-y in almost the traditional sense of perfume. To me, this smells very white and clean. It's not at all a muddled or confused scent. On, wet: So very light. Others are saying that they got huge throw from this, but I absolutely did not. This clung very closely to my wrists and smelled very clean the whole time. On, dry: There's a floral presence, so of course it turned a tad soapy on me, but because the throw is so very minimal, it just smells clean and fresh. It makes me feel like I'm wearing clothes fresh out of the dryer. I will say that it didn't bring me a whole lot of peace, since I think I may have had a minor anxiety attack while I was wearing it (not related to the oil at all), but I wasn't wearing it for the calming effects, so that doesn't matter much to me. Overall, I liked it, in a strange way, because it's a floral I can actually wear.
