I get mainly a fizzy champagne note with a heavy dose of labdanum with a whiff of bergamot - which oddly codes to a form of raspberry jam resin. It's a resinous sort of fruity jam with champagne. WTF skin chemistry. Medium throw and wear length.

No. 156 East Twenty-Second Street

Dark red sandalwood, sort of earthy as if has patchouli in it with a hint of cacao. Medium throw and wear length. -
Soft rose chypre. This one is a delicate, elegant perfume. Again, there's something quasi nostalgic about it. Would be lovely for a tea party or for a Victorian inspired wedding. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Blonde tobacco, sandalwood and a whiff greeny herbs. It's a beautiful incensey tobacco/sandalwood blend. Good throw and wear length. I didn't think I would like it much on wet, but its growing on me.
-
Oudh and feminine leather with a touch of vanilla. I get a distinctly sueded brown leather note on this. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Bubbly citrus jasmine. This smells like a refine orange blossom cologne. There's something slightly old timey about it. Delicate, citrusy, floral. This is the sort of perfume for a refined lady. Medium throw and wear length.

[No additional description provided.] I get mainly a honeyed oudh with a whiff of apple. If you love oudh blends, give this a whirl.

Crafted in response to Black Phoenix Trading Posts Horking Dragon Hair Gloss: saucy gilded amber, ambergris accord, vanilla cream, and peach-tinted skin musk. Okay, so I was mainly hoping for an amber and peach blend, but ended up getting a vanilla cream with tinges of ambergris in it. So it's a sort of watery vanilla cream. Unfortunately, BPAL's cream note is problematic on me. Typically, its a burnt plastic on me, but this one oscillates between a cream and a plastic, which ends up confusing as hell to my nose. If you can wear cream, this is fantastic. I can't and my skin chemistry is not cooperating. On the drydown, I get more of the amber and peach, but it's still mainly a creamy vanilla with ambergris. Medium throw and wear length.

Lavender, amber, woods, white musk. This smells sheer, pretty and like lavender.... and after 45 minutes my skin has eaten this up and now I can't smell a damn thing.

I picked this up in NYCC 2018 because I missed it in 2017. This one is a clean sort of fougere, with something both sweet and sinister lurking underneath. I get mainly a gender neutral smell but over time it warms up and I think there's vanilla in it. And something else that really smells like it could kill you. This is the justice of the electric chair. Gruesome and makes you wonder if that's actual justice you're seeing.

Black Twig Apple, Labdanum, Oak Bark, Cedar, and Bourbon Vanilla
zankoku_zen posted a topic in Event Exclusive Oils
[No additional description provided.] Sleeper hit! On wet, this is extremely apple and cedary woods. And you sort of wonder where everything else. And after about an hour, it really starts to change and ends up as a vanilla and oak blend with a whiff of resinous labdanum. UNF. The vanilla in this is gorgeous. Good throw as an apple/cedar smell, but it has a low skin scent throw when vanilla/oak. Good wear length. -
[No additional description provided.] Apple and sage. I mainly get a green apple with herby sage. Medium throw but low wear length. After a few hours, I catch a whiff of gin. Which is weird to me.

Dead leaves and a hint of crisp red apple. This to me is also mainly a Dead Leaves prominent blend. Great throw and wear length.

Honeycrisp Apple, White Pear, and White Amber

Honeycrisp and amber. It dries down to a more amber blend with a whiff of pear. Medium throw and wear length. -
Red Apple, Pineapple, and Green Tea
zankoku_zen replied to Dark Alice's topic in Event Exclusive Oils
This one was a very soft scent on me - it was mainly pineapple and green tea with a whiff of apple. It dries down to a fruity green tea, but in general its very soft. Low throw and wear length on me. -
Frankincense, sandalwood and a whiff of patchouli. Anne Bonny is actually less aggressive as a soap than as a perfume on me. Smells like a nice clean patchouli blend.

Dead Leaves, Spanish Saffron, Patchouli, Laotian Oud, and Honey Hair Gloss

Dead Leaves, Patchouli and Oudh. Its a perfumey sort of Dead Leaves. -
Commanding his legions to secure the safety of his people and promote the expansion of his lands: steel and gold wreathed by a crown of bay and iris. Bay, metallic steel (warmed up by something golden) and a touch of powdery iris. If you love bay, give this a whirl. It's a sophisticated perfumey bay. I am putting this on mr. zee_zee's pile. It's gender neutral but definitely more along the lines of expensive cologne, which he tends to favor. Medium throw and wear length. Regal, sophisticated, manly.

I mainly get lavender, roses, and jasmine. This is a very soothing blend to me. It's soft, full of compassion, and just forces you to take a minute and just breathe.
-
Dark, spicy, animalic: Nagdi frankincense, bois de cade, beeswax, Somalian myrrh, and Laotian oudh. I get mainly frankincense and oudh with a whiff of beeswax. It's dark, resinous, and just smells like expensive salon products.

Positive vibes only: apricot-squeezed vanilla bean with a squirt of peach, coconut milk, and a floofing of marshmallow. Vanilla marshmallow floof with fruity aspects. It smells sort of peachy/fruity but over a vanilla marshmallow pillow. Good throw and wear length. Too sweet for me, but if you like foodie/candy blends, this may be for you.

In 2010, we had the privilege of working with one of the greatest storytellers of the modern era, Peter S. Beagle, and our Last Unicorn series went live. Peter is one of the most kind-hearted, gentlest humans that I’ve ever known, and we bonded over both of us being the children of teachers. In February, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with our Lovecraftian tourism campaign, produced by the Arkham Visitors Bureau: The Miskatonic Valley is for Lovers. Los Angeles Lunacy moved to Dark Delicacies at their Grand Reopening in May of 2010, and Umlaut and Victorian Garden went live at the Mütter Museum in August of 2010. This was also the year that I almost keeled over like a wilted cucumber during my panel at the West Hollywood Book Fair, and the heat was so intense that it demolished the entirety of the tester stock that we’d brought with us to vending and our soaps turned to ooze. In June, Black Phoenix Trading Post sponsored the Carcosan Interdimensional Football Association Underworld Cup XXI Championship. My money was on the P’nathi Bholes to win, especially after they soundly defeated the Gugs 7-0 in the group phase, securing their position in the knockout round. Mist-veiled lilac and salt spray with osmanthus, white jasmine, and icy lavender. Lilac, jasmine, salt and a whiff of lavender. This one is a very lilac-centered blend. The jasmine is most prominent on wet, but it calms down as it dries, and the salt edge appears. When I first apply it, it's almost too much, but if you were looking for a lilac centered blend, seek no more. This one is gorgeous, and feels very historic - like the village where Anne of Avonlea lives in Prince Edward Island. It's got that natural blossom, and salty air, and it just smells clean and pure. Good throw and wear length.

Tangerine, red musk, ti leaf, vanilla orchid, and white honey. Secrets of the Hanamachi smells like citrusy musk, a touch of honey, and orchids. It's a contrast of pleasant florals with a very sexy background. Definitely asian in vibe.

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts. – John Steinbeck A talisman against fear: Roman chamomile, frankincense, ylang ylang, vetiver, and Italian bergamot. Citrusy chamomile, ylang ylang and a base of frankincense. This is a chamomile-ylang ylang blend, and despite being floral, is more of a gender neutral blend. It's soft, approachable, and comforting. Medium throw, good wear length.

[No additional description provided.] I get mainly tinsel and amber. Honestly, it was slightly masculine on wet, and then the amber comes peeping through.
