Acai, vanilla and Snake Oil. Berry, vanilla, over some amped up Snake Oil sandalwood. Low throw and wear length on me.
-
Hmm, to me this is a sweeter more resinous version of Snake Oil with a touch of orris. But you kinda have to go hunting for the orris. To me, based on my review of the 2006 version and this 2016 version, I'd say they are actually pretty similar on my skin. Low throw and wear length.

Sappy green grass. If you were looking for a grass SN, look no further. Seriously. Low throw and average wear length.

Stale Sugar-Crusted Marshmallow Chick
zankoku_zen replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Limited Editions
Sugary marshmallow crust and a touch of plastic. Sadly, BPAL's marshmallow note occasionally suffers from the same problem as BPAL's creme note, going to plastic on my skin. -
Review for the prototype: I find this darker than the released version. It's more of a vetiver and musk version. I get a hint of powderiness on the drydown. There's a spice in here that smells familiar, and it may be cardamom.

Creamy milky chocolate and creme. The BPAL creme note goes a little plasticky on me. Good throw and wear length.
-
Milk chocolate and a tinge of metal foil. It's like a milkier, creamier version of Bliss, with a tinge of citrus foil. Good throw and wear length.
-
Citrus and lime candies! This reminds me a little to Lemon Scented Sticky Bat - but is more straight up sugary citrus candy blend. On the drydown, I do get something that whispers of dryer sheets though. Medium throw, good wear length.
-
Creamy, clean lily smell with a touch of pollen. This is a very realistic lily scent. Good throw and wear length.
-
Dragon's blood, red musk, red sandalwood. It's hot, red, and predominantly floral spicy musky. Decent throw and wear length.
-
Golden breeze. I am somehow amping up the breeze aspect of this. On wet it smelled smokier and more incensey, but it dries to a very airy note on me. Low throw and wear length.
-
Wisteria, green tea and cherry blossoms. This is a very Asian wisteria/cherry blossom floral blend with hints of plum and tea. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Green tea and cucumber. Cool and refreshing. This honestly would make an awesome hair gloss. Low throw and wear length on me though.
-
Sweet vanilla honey with a touch of patchouli. In some ways, for me this is like a sweeter, vanilla-dominant version of Banshee Beat/Revenant Rhythm, with the vanilla taking center stage instead of the patchouli. It works as the other side to a BB/RR coin - vanilla with a touch of patchouli. Good throw and wear length.
-
Cinnamon, myrrh, and incense. This is pretty much an incense, myrrh and cinnamon blend. Golden, fumey. Good throw and wear length.
-
Peony, iris, amber, musk and swirls of chocolate. This straddles the line between gourmand and floral in a really well-balanced, sophisticated way. It smells delicate and yet comforting. I think the mix of peony, iris and amber is amazing. Low throw, medium wear length.

Green tea, thyme, and green musk. This smells green and fresh, tea and light musk. Low throw and wear length.

Beanman and Beanwoman Climb Genital Mountains
zankoku_zen replied to radiantfracture's topic in Lupercalia
Oh man, this is so much more fun that I expected. Hazelnut, cognac, smoke and a touch of brown leather. Honestly, this smells like thick syrupy coffee and leather. I echo thatbrownelf in that it seems like a more masculine version of Red Lanter, with more tobacco in it. Good throw and wear length. Oh those Bean people. -
White rose powder and tonka. This does not work for me at all. Orris goes sharply powdery, accentuating the white rose. I think the patchouli adds some grit into the dirt, but it just ends up smelling like white rose powder. Soft throw, low wear length.
-
Saffron, carnation, sandalwood with a touch of rose. This one is a very heavy Oriental. It's sexy, sophisticated, and dark. Honestly, this reminds me a little of Dior's Poison, in that sort of heavy sophisticated/timeless classic category. Beautiful. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Cherry cognac, apricot, and black leather. This is a very fruity/boozy black leather. Great throw and wear length. I seriously can't handle BPAL's black leather note.

Well, fuck a duck. On wet, this smells almost like Jingo-Kogo dupe, sans orange. It's a creamy vanilla, with a bit of a citrus burst which I think is the tea blossom note, and a touch of oak. As it dries down more of the oak comes through, and I get a melty creamy vanilla on soft woods. UNF. Sexy spectacular and possibly the runaway surprise hit for me. I put this on and went, YAAAAAS, SLAY BPAL SLAY.

Sweet powdery musky wisteria with a hint of lemon. Wisteria is a problematic note to my skin chemistry, so I'm surprised how this almost works on me. It's a blue night sky tinged with purple. Low throw and good wear length.
-
Yup, very much like Kumiho. Actually I'm reminded of the Governess, I think. Which was a Weenie that was pretty much White Tea SN on my skin. This one has some neroli and ginger thrown in. Very fresh and pretty. Good throw and wear length.

A Mirror of Spring Pleasures on Kites (2016)

Oh god, this is strawberry x100, blackberry, red wine, and a splash of vanilla. This is super fruity strawberry and blackberries. Great throw and wear length.
