So good. Vanilla, amber and a hint of glassy elements. This one smells sophisticated, rich and lovely. The vanilla is not too foodie and it's just lovely in general.

Third in a series of CT testers. CT XVII (17) from etsy II: This one has a reddish tint to it in the vial and it definitely smells like dragon's blood resin. I get DBR, slightly cinnamony and honestly this one really reminds me to Dragon's Milk. CT IX (9) from etsy I: I totally remember this one from somewhere. This one smells like a classic, white floral. Less intense and overwhelming than CT 10, which is obviously related. Creamy white florals. I swear there's some gardenia in this. CT XIII (13) from etsy I: pine, fur and something else. This one has a pine/balsam note to it. This one is like the warm version of CT 14. CT XIV (14) from etsy I: pine, snow, and maybe less throw than CT 13, which is obviously related. This one smells cleaner, and fainter. It's like the cold version of CT 13. CT XXXII (32): sandalwood, white pepper and a hint of iris. Honestly, this smells like peppery sandalwood to me. Previously reviewed here CT XXXIX (39): Boozy apricot schnapps, hint of coconut. Is there also sandalwood in this? I can't tell. Very Shunga-esque. Previously reviewed here. CT LXXV (75): Definitely a bright yellow orange oil in the vial. Bright lemony bergamot. Touch of apricot and sandalwood. This one honestly made me think of Lemon Scented Sticky Bat more, but it's more like LSSB as an Asian/Shunga type. Previously reviewed here CT XXXVII (37): Boozy apricot schnaps. Touch of bay rum. This one is less sweet than CT 39. Previously reviewed here

Second in a series of CT testers. And second in the OMG I accidentally closed this before posting. ARGH! CT LXXVIII (78): This one was a lavender heavy one. I do get hits of grapefruit. It smells like a somnus blend. Huge throw. CT XVII (17): This one smelled coconutty, and with lush tropical florals. I got a creamy tropical coolness that made me think of shea, and in some ways also reminded me to Dana O'Shee. CT XV (15) from etsy II: Cherry/red currant candy, sugar and there's a white floral bloom poking through there. CT XI (11) from etsy I: Dark musk, burnt sugar. This one reminds me to Mr. Fezziwig's Ball atmo. And I think I love it. CT XVII (17) from etsy I: This one has a resin background, and a touch of brown sugar. There's definitely some chewy tobacco in here. In fact, it reminds me to tobacco from Laura Belle McDaniel. CT X (10) from etsy I: UGH. I don't know what's in this but it makes me recoil a bit. This one is a lush, white floral. Very classic. Is that you gardenia, acting up again? It smells clean, and overwhelming. Huge throw.

First in a series of Chaos Theory tester reviews. CT XLIII (43): This one is a lush tropical blend. I am guessing there is some pineapple. On wet it had an almost soapy quality to it, but then I get pineapple and lush white florals. Perhaps a touch of orchid? previously reviewed here CT CIV (104): This one is definitely a candy floss sort of blend. It reminds me to Peach Candyfloss minus the peach. I think there's either some gin or juniper in it which gives it that 'cool gin fizz' to it. So evocative of Star Promenade but with candy instead of apple spices. previously reviewed here CT LXXXIV (84): Vetiver! Lemon! This smells like a smoky pinesol cleanser to me. It's gritty, musky, and honestly seems like it should be Smutty Goblin + lemon hybrid. previously reviewed here CT LXXXV (85): Musky cake and sandalwood. I can sort of see the Jingo-Kogo reference, but its hazy for me. It's mainly a sugary cake with sandalwood in it. Very subtle, very sexy. previously reviewed here CT XVI (16) from etsy II: Burnt orange peel, caramel and dark musk. Definitely a smoky cousin to Smutty Goblin. CT XIV (14) from etsy II: Sugared flowers, vaguely watermelon, slightly aquatic florals.

Snake Charmer lite. In some ways, this really reminds me to Holliday HG, but with more plum and more coconut. If you're a fan of Snake Charmer, you need this. Sadly, I am not and while this is great and summery, it will probably get more use.... elsewhere.

Dreamy red sandalwood, touches of oude, pink pepper and vanilla. This one is an incensey sort of sandalwood, very wearable, very sexy. I can see this both appealing to those that dig sandalwood, dig red musk, and dig the sexy blends. It's a slinky sandalwood blend, most of which in my opinion have been in the Shunga line, and this one is distinctively a non-Shunga but would very well be at home in a Lupercalia update.

I get a rich chestnut/figgy plum, with a touch of cedar and juniper. It's autumnal and reminds you of the richness of the harvest, but with the cold breeze in the air heralding that winter is just around the corner. It's not too foodie, but still rich and toothsome.

Chewy cigar smoke and smoky woods. This one is definitely atmospheric. It evokes a rich British library, very masculine, very warm.

Holliday, you're super sexy. Like sexier than Snake Oil (I know, the heresy!). This is red musk, rum, honey and a touch of vanilla. All of you red lovers need to get in on this. In your face sexy hair.

Pearl is a subtle sophisticated white floral hair gloss. I get a slightly fruity (fig is that you), vanilla, orchid and amber. It smells like a high end salon product, actually. I find this a very gateway BPTP product in that it probably would appeal to someone that wasn't sure of the BPAL line, and this wouldn't push them out of their commercial comfort zone but can show you how much better things can be.

I had a sinking suspicion that Laura Belle McDaniel would be awesome for me. And I'm glad to say that its true. I get a soft lavender vanilla, with an overlay of musk and tobacco. It's got enough smokiness to keep this from being cuddly. As it dries, you get a slightly more spicy carnation on at the wet. This one is sexy and sophisticated, without being stuck up. This is for a woman that appreciates the richness of velvet, and sleekness of leather, and isn't afraid of a little sweat on her. Deeply womanly, subtly sexy. ETA: I find this to not have a huge throw, but great staying power. This is more of a skin scent, but it sooo awesome.

My review pretty much echoes Ina Garten Davita's review. This is honeysuckle blooms, touch of sweet musk, hint of brown leather. This is really all about the honeysuckle, with enough of the musk and leather to come out and not make it one-dimensional, too sweet, or too floral. I always love the lab's honeysuckle note but its too sweet for me to wear. This is summery, sultry, and makes the bedroom smell gorgeous. (and yes, old timey Southern plantation sort of rich summery. You know, the romantic notion like Scarlett O'Hara where we don't worry about political correctness, the horrible implications of racism, white privilege but rather about mint juleps, sweet iced tea, and the charm of the South).

So, yes to the honey, vanilla and beeswax. The vanilla to me toggles between a very gourmand type of vanilla (very foodie, and I suspect this is the vanilla we'll see in the Chaos Theory gourmand) because it's like a burnt sugar/caramel quality to it, which inevitably my skin turns to a weird plasticky type of vanilla. The cinnamon and clove are but a faint whisper on what is really a vanilla beeswax combination. Yes to the reference of Light of Men's Lives - but much more muted. It's actually softer, silkier, and much more of a skin musk kinda blend. Honestly, this is what you'd probably want your natural skin to smell like. All the time. If you were blessed by nature like that, and the image of Mila Kunis being recognized by the bees in Jupiter Ascending just popped in. So - this is what Mila Kunis's character in Jupiter Ascending smells like, thank you brain. AND because I totally can, I layered Loved to Death over Red Mysore Sandalwood SN, in a moment of lunacy. It's a pretty spectacular mix with some heady mysore sandalwood providing a woodier, broader background for the vanilla beeswax combination.

Rich, spicy, sweet myrrh. This one is deep and incredibly sexy. It's honeyed wood and oh so smooth. Slightly perfumey, but you know what, this smells amazing. Honestly, you could actually just wear this by itself. It's THAT good.
-
Dry, soft wispy white floral. Kinda smoky, kinda hazy. Oddly somnolent, like a waking dream. This smells dark, rich, and softly seductive. I can see how this had a huge throw, especially as a younger blend. It still has a good throw, and what I'd consider average wear length. It's a white floral in the same way it is classic, sophisticated, perfumey. Like you wouldn't be surprised if this was part of Chanel No 5. That's the vibe it has.

The Storyteller's Parlor Atmosphere Spray

The leather is rich and soft. It's the strongest player, with a touch of smoke and a touch of brandy. Honestly, this reminds me to BPAL's Hellfire. So if you're a fan of leather and/or Hellfire, give this a whirl. -
This one is a dreamy, wispy wisteria with a few other soft blossoms thrown in. I get just a bare touch of jasmine. It's cool, asian, and very dreamy.

nathanielherbert - the pics are awesome. I am particularly fond of Mr. Croup. The little tea cups are a great addition.

Minty pumpkin. This one is a morpher! On first spritz, there's a note that almost smells like coffee, and then it develops into this minty pumpkin with a touch of woods. I sniffed the atmo spritzer and in the actual just sprayed smell from it smells strongly of coffee. It's pretty light, foodie, and I do love the mint in it. I think this has JUST become my favorite Pumpkin atmo.

Elf is everything it is purported to be and more! It smells like a slightly piney, woodsy, golden musk and honey. It's spring like, ethereal and sort of mystical. Makes for a fantastic hair gloss.

A Triumphal Arch of Leaves and Flowers Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to LiberAmoris's topic in Atmosphere
Pink rose petals, springy florals, and a soapy breeze. I don't really get the kitchen herbs on this one, but this is a delicate, spring rose blend. It smells like golden sunshine filtering through pink rose bushes. It's clean, light, and feminine in a very homemaker way. Honestly, I think this is what June Cleaver's kitchen would smell like. -
Red musk, honey and a touch of saffron. I get a ton of red musk from this, sweetened by honey. I think I forgot that this was red musk centric, and neglected to read the description again because I expected something fall like - with the aspen leaves reference. Ah well. Heavy, sexy, red.
-
I get hints of roses, lemons, ivy and a hint of rocks. It's very atmospheric, fresh, but classic. There's again, a certain kind of mistiness. This smells like roses that fairies would pick. If you like roses, and sort of wish that they didn't bully everything and we're thinking of fairy roses, I'd give this a whirl.

Dark, misty plants. I sprayed this one, and it was overgrown greens, slightly medicinal, and a fair amount of gloomy mist. It was very atmospheric. Out of all of the BPTP scents I've smelled, this one smells TAL-like in that it seems to have an otherworldly component. Perhaps useful for re-creating an outside space when you can't necessarily go outside?
