    2006: Fruit Phoenix

2006 brought us to New Orleans for Convergence XII, which was an amazing event on so many levels, but also marked the first time we were able to get together with our sisters, the moderators of bpal.org. Smut first besmirched the virginal sanctity of our catalogue in Spring, Carnaval Diabolique materialized on August 2nd of 2006, and Black Moon and Schwarzer Mond appeared for the first time over the dark skies of BPAL. That winter, Krampus made himself known in our Yule update for the first time. A scent celebrating fifteen years of the FRUITS of our labor. Haaaaaaaaaa…. I sure love my awful Uncle Jokes. Snake Oil with Schwarzer Mond’s terebinth, a swish of Krampus’ switches, black currant, pomelo, and chthonic black pomegranate. Snowy pine, black pomegranate, a touch of wood and black currant on a musky base. I don't really get Snake Oil from this, and all of the other components win out on my skin particularly the pine and black pomegranate. Good throw and wear length.

    Lan Yueliang

Lilith's interpretation. From the Littlest Perfumer: I’m taking Mandarin now and we’re learning a lot about holidays that follow the lunar calendar. This perfume is inspired by me thinking about how the moon guides our lives. It’s a little sweet and a little sour. Blueberries and white tea with sugar, lemon peel, and bergamot.
  3. Goat’s milk, honey dust, vanilla husk, oak bark, cardamom pod, tobacco leaf, cedarwood, and vetiver.
  4. No notes. This was available for purchase at NYCC 2017. This oil is super thick and dark. On wet, It smells like dark musk and anise. As it dries, I swear I get hints of black leather. The drydown seems like a licorish scented black musk with again, hints of leather. Very dark, and powerful. Good throw and wear length.

    Sinkhole

We have the best sinkholes. Terrific sinkholes. Our sinkholes are tremendous. YUUUGE. No administration has ever had a sinkhole like this, believe me. Obama didn’t have sinkholes. Sad! The scent of a swamp self-draining: globs of wet earth, crushed grass, and untended dandelions sliding into a morass of moss-crusted opoponax, labdanum, and tar. Proceeds from the sale of this scent benefit the American Civil Liberties Union. This reminds me to Take a Knee - but if possible, this is grassier. There's grass, dandelions, and a touch of moss and dirt. But in general, this smells like freshly mowed grass, with a touch of dandelions. It's fresh, clean, and gender neutral. Did you want a grassy dandelion blend? Then pick this puppy up. Good throw and wear length.

    Spontaneous Argumentation

This past February, Lilith competed in her first debate tournament. She was asked to come in “business casual”, and this is the best we could do. A scent for child orators: pleather and chalk dust with a handful of chewy fruit candies. (We can’t say “Skittles”, even though that’s all she ate throughout the entire tournament! Don’t sue us, Skittles! Lilith just loves Skittles!) Skittles. This smells like sugary fruit candy, and then on the drydown you get a whiff of the chalk dust. But hey, you want Skittles, here's a non-branded Skittles perfume. Medium throw and wear length.

    Pumpkin Spice Absinthe

2021 version! This one was almost all absinthe, and once it calmed down the sleaze, I get more of the spices, aniseed, and booze. Herby. Green, slightly PSL, but mainly absinthe amped up on spices. Good throw and wear length.

    Pyramid of Skulls

Sweet tobacco floating around sandalwood. Cold, reminiscent of incense smoke, and oddly enough solemn and compelling. Low throw and good wear length. Very gender neutral.

    Samhain

2021 review Spiced apple cider, tinges of patchouli, strong mentholic pine. This smells like a haunted woods where witches are doing rituals. I think its the strong mentholic pine that is amping up the spooky factor. Good throw and wear length.
