    Vetiver & Black Pepper

Capricorn 2004, is that you? Okay, so for me this is a very smoky spicy vetiver on wet (with a slight curdle of bacon) but then it dries down to this magnetically gorgeous resin with hints of grapefruit and if I squint a bit it really does resemble Capricorn 2004, which is one of my OG loves in the sense that for some wild ass reason becomes this smooth wood with a tinge of grapefruit. It does go through a slight brown leather stage between wet and dry, which I am not going to hold against it only because I effing love the drydown. Low throw, but good wear length. Win, 10/10, will be buying more.

    White Oakmoss & Lavender

Herbal lavender and a whiff of mossy oakmoss. This one is calm and soothing. Medium throw and wear length.

Italian Lemon Peel & Orange Blossom

Orange and lemon! This smells bright and citrusy. And while it has a good throw it has almost no lasting power on my skin. 20 minutes later and its gone.

    Ti Leaf & Champaca Petals

Smoky leaves. Its soft smokiness. Medium throw and wear length.

    Great Joy to Mankind

This is an oil of healing and an oil for healers. Great Joy to Mankind

This smells amazing. I get sage, wood, whiff of resins, bay, and then some herbal flower notes. It smells comforting and healing at the same time. I'm using this post-oral surgery and its a deeply soothing scent. I had slathered myself in S&S Asclepius materia prior to surgery, and am now concentrating on healing post-op. If I could, I would bathe in this.

    Psnake Oil

Minty vanilla Snake Oil with a whiff of blue musk. This one is a cooler SO variant. The mint sort of dissipates after application, and I'm left with a very heavy blue musk SO variant. Which if you love blue musk, love Snake Oil, or also like the impressions of peppermint patties, I'd give this a whirl. Medium throw and wear length.

    Wild Rose & Dandelion Sap

Fresh stemmy dandelion sap and pink roses. Honestly, this reminds me to Red Rose with that rose + fresh stem smell, but instead of being RED, its pink. This is definitely a pink rose, and its gentler and sweeter than the red. But with that fresh green stem goodness. Medium throw and wear length.

    Brood X

Hay, sugar cane, amber and a whiff of rooty patchouli. It smells golden, and like leaves, and very pretty. Medium throw and wear length.

    Rabbit Moon 2021

Warm grass, fur, clove and a whiff of ambrette seed. This is softer and cuddlier than I expected. In some ways, it reminds me to aged Buck Moon but less feral and earthier. Medium throw, average wear length.

    Die Genetrix

This oil is a prayer for healing and a balm for the grief of the world. May the Mother of Mercy release you from pain, may she heal the world of its traumas, may she grant us hope. White rose otto hydrodistilled essential oil (Rosa x alba L.), amyris essential oil (Amyris balsamifera L.), sustainably-harvested agarwood essential oil (Aquilaria crassna Pierre ex Lecomte), lemon myrtle essential oil (Backhousia citriodora), organic melissa essential oil ( Melissa officinalis L.), wild lavender essential oil gleaned from an uncultivated harvest in the south of France (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.), and white lily petals from the TAL garden (Lilium candidum).

    Die Genetrix

I tend to go with my gut when it comes to using certain TALs. I've been leaning hard into the Immortal Heart series these past couple of weeks. On impulse, I opted to wear some Dei Genetrix. This is a comforting white floral blend where you get succor and calm, relief from the sadness you may feel. I wouldn't go so far as say that this is depression lifting, and the vibe is different from Anthelion. If Anthelion is a gentle head pat, Dei Genetrix is like being embraced by your mom and be given a cup of tea/chickennoodlesoup/pho/whatever comfort food you want insert here.

    My Country

Her far horizons, her jewel-sea: a rose-tinted sunset of amber salt spray azure musk.

    Sweet Myrrh & Green Fig

    No additional scent description.

    Hexentanz

Dirty patch, dirty herbs, dirty bonfire incense, hint of resin. This is mainly a smoked herbs and dirty rooty patchouli. This one is darker and smokier than the Man in Black, who is almost positively urbane by comparison. Every camped out in the woods and then rolled around in ashy woods? Yeah, that's what this smells like.

    Osculum Inflame

Incense, cola, and a whiff of honeyed resins. To me, the labdanum and incense are the strongest notes, so it ends up in a incense cola sort of hell. Medium throw, great wear length.

    The Man in Black

Worn leather, whiff of soil and smoke with some sweetness from the tonka. Medium throw and wear length.

    The Queen of May

This is a fragrant bunch of wild flowers. Its fresh, flowery and very much smells like a meadow. Great throw and wear length.

    Beth's Experimental Blends

Okay, I received 5 Experimental SO testers, and can definitely identify Exp #5 as the Experimental Blend Cinnamon. I think Experimental Blend, unidentified type is the Experimental Green type, since I did get a grassy blend plus definite green like notes from it. Over SO, clearly. I think Experimental Blend #5 I think is the Experimental Minty type, since it smelled again like fresh soap + SO, and I think its that minty freshness overlaid on the uber aged SO base. Experimental #2 just smelled like a turbo charged Snake Oil. It was dark amber, and just smelled very SO and then morphed into the love child of SO and Mme Moriarty. Finally, the one labelled "Blue" smells like blue musk and Snake Oil had a baby. Blue musk always has a starry contemplative quality to it, and it smells very strongly of blue musk and SO. Probably my favorite of the entire lot.

    Dig

This smells like fresh apples to me. Fresh green apples, a hint of woody stem, and a whiff of linen. Basically, if you took a handkerchief and rubbed it all over a fresh apple, this is what it would smell like. Clean, fragrant, and deliciously apple. Medium throw and wear length.

    PERILOUS GARDEN

To me, Perilous Garden is a grapefruit Jean Nate. It's this citrusy sparkling floral, with the citrus being the top notes, the tuberose forming the middle, over a bed of white musk. It's clean, and classic, and very much grapefruit. Medium throw and wear length.

    DEVIL AND CIRCE

I get mainly smoky red musk, nots of clove incense and a whiff of spicy carnation. This smells very dark and gothy. Very femme fatale. Good throw and wear length. If you were a 90s goth, I can see you being heavily into this blend.

    Orange Blossom & Driftwood

Orange blossom, wood and a note of motor oil? I swear, this one is a morpher. It stars off as orange blossom, and stays that way but brings in both wood and a slightly musk on it and ends up being more gender neutral-masculine than I expected. Medium throw and wear length.

    Black Amber & Sugar Cane

Sugary amber. This is mainly an amber dominant blend on me. I can see this being wildly popular. Medium throw and wear length.
