This is another fall down on the floor have an orgasm freakin' gorgeous perfume. Another one that brought tears to my eyes, it's so beautiful. Skip the sample, get the big bottle. I've never smelled anything like it in my life. ARG, so disappointing when this happens, but ok, I've tried and tried and I can't wear frankincense, so there's an end to it. On me it takes a while for that to develop out of Psyche, but once it does, I'm through. If you can wear Frankinscense, tho, do try this, it's gorgeous.

Hmmm. Soap and baby powder. Obviously I need to try this one again, I'm missing stuff. However, I LOVE soap and baby powder smells and couldn't be happier than to be all about this soft, soft, soft, swooningly gentle scent.

What she said. I lived in Hawaii as a child and the first thing I thought of *blush* was the silky smooth of a hula dancer's belly - they wear plumeria. To me, it's luscious and creamy in the way a gardenia might be. If you're bummed because Bath and Body Works discontinued their plumeria, take heart. This is all that and so much more ...

I like to put the scents on before I've read the descriptions and see how many right guesses I can make - trying to train my nose. I would've sworn I could spot lavender any where any time, any day, but this one completely fooled me. I sniffed for about five minutes on my wrist and couldn't identify anything. HA. It's because I've never smelled Lotus. The lavender blasts your nose open and while you're not looking, Lotus moves in to stay, and putters around putting her things away and lines her dresser drawers with cinnamon scented paper. This scent ebbs and breathes and dances. This relaxes me and makes me feel poised and confident. It's an effect more cerebral than carnal, but relaxed and confident are keys to sexy. I get crisp white shirt, unbuttoned one more button than proper, smiling into your eyes. Yes, enigmatic -- This one is a shapeshifter, moves around a lot, is different an inch from your nose than five inches from your nose, and from moment to moment. It's like an unresolved seventh if it were music. Fascinating. I'm really glad to have a whole bottle. P.S. It's burning my wrist and I don't even care. I'll find a way to wear it. And it does fade incredibly fast, and I don't care about that either. I'll put it on every five minutes if I have to. This one's mine for me! My Preeecioussss....

O I love this. O has the perfect je ne sais quoi that I've been searching for as a signature scent. It doesn't smell like perfume. It smells like ... maybe the scent left by the footsteps of Aphrodite Pandemos, goddess of physical attraction, famous for her power to make gods fall in love with mortals. I second Oceandessa in that this would be great as a base scent, for layering. I can imagine just the merest whisper of a flower on the wind over this - honeysuckle, jasmine, rose, maybe, just for an occasional change, but I can imagine wearing this for years without wanting anything different. The honey hits first, but I also get a top note that reminds me of Burt's Bees Apricot Baby oil. It's sweet, but I can't imagine it giving anyone a headache. I can inhale it deep into my lungs and it enhances my feeling of well being and even gives a nice taste in my mouth. FWIW, I get a picture of a beautiful woman with especially beautiful legs, sheer black stockings and heels, long-ish dark hair, sitting on a bar stool with her legs crossed and maybe one shoe dangling, having a quietly flirtatious conversation while sizing up an admirer/potential lover. So far, he's lookin' good, too. Or Kathleen Turner in Body Heat. Or a cat with fur like mink that wants to be petted, and keeps rubbing itself up against you, purring. This purrrrs. This is Secret Weapon perfume, the kind you put in your hair along the nape of your neck, and a little in your cleavage, and maybe you speak a little more softly so people have to lean in close to hear you, and you watch their pupils dilate when they breathe you in. You might get a horrible case of amnesia when other women ask you what you're wearing (Hm! I can't remember what the name of this is!) - this one you only share with your very best girlfriend. If she's married and lives in another state. Update: I got the 10 ml bottle and I will be ordering another one soon, just to make sure I always have it. It's too incredibly good. Curiosity propels me to keep testing imps, but I have found my holy grail in O, and I've been looking ALL MY LIFE! Amazing.

I love this. Amazingly sexy, very womanly. I get way more rose than cinnamon. It doesn't last on my skin at all; however, if I put it on and put my clothes on while it's still wet, so some gets on my clothes, I can smell it all day. I had some on the back of my neck that ended up on the collar of my coat, and now my locker at work smells like Harlot. SO glad I didn't give this one away for lack of staying power. This is perfection.

I don't care for this one. It smells good to me at first, but it fades very quickly into a dusty cinnamon scent that just doesn't flip my switch. Edit: I put this on last night, late - just woke up a bit ago and was sitting here with my elbow on the desk and my chin in my hand, reading, and kept thinking, mmmm, smells good, mmm. So it lasts very well and the dry down smells darkly sweet, very alluring. I'm going to give it another try. Maybe dispersed over greater area, spread out more thinly, in lotion. For what it's worth, it smells great the morning after! Edit: I'm doing a 180 on this one. I really like it a lot. I made up some lotion, about 1 drop per tablespoon of lotion, and put that all over head to toe, and then Harlot on my pulse points. I smell GOOD. http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/neilyoung/cinnamongirl.html

Just got my imps from JoanS, bless her, and Jezebel stood out enough that I put it right on my wrists. First thing I get is honey/roses, in equal strength. For me, the orange blossom blends with the honey smell so much that if I didn't know it was in there, I could have missed it. It just brings the honey up about a half step (I smell in music, if that makes sense.) The sandalwood rounds it out to make a full chord. It's very, very, yummy, very lickable. This is very me, and the first one I've tried that I love as much as Eve. I will buy the big bottle. Scrumptious/luscious/heavenly, another "I want everything to smell just like this" scent, in my book. P.S. I believe this scent to be strongly stimulating. Beware the aphrodesiac. I'm buying the big bottle.

Spellbound is very strong on me too, and Black Phoenix has good staying power. I've also had good luck with Eve.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

And I'm just the opposite. I can really wear flowers, any kind. I love heady florals and light green florals and any kind, really - they all makes me feel great. But put something resin or very spicey, something with a lot of fixatives or base notes, on me, and the energy drains straight out of my body and I feel sick, nauseated, headachey, can't concentrate. Those are the scents that are supposed to be so sultry. But I can't be sultry when I'm needing to lie down and considering perhaps puking ... It fascinates me that we all differ so much in what scents our bodies like and which they really do not. I keep thinking it must mean something, but what, I don't know. Like, if you have a lot of earth in your chart, does that mean you would want perfumes made of top notes to lift you? or if you have a lot of air in your chart, would that make you drawn more toward base notes because then you feel more grounded? or could it have to do with blood type or immune system make up? or what. -
Perfectly enchanting! An irresistibly sexual, utterly rapturous blend of three roses, radiant amber, and sensual red musk. It makes me think about licking someone's neck. Makes me feel slinky. It's magic slinky oil. Gives the feeling of being supremely sexually confident and gracious and charming as all hell about it, to boot, if that makes sense. Definitely a keeper. Several hours later - ok, maybe not. I love roses and I can wear musk - it must be the amber - it's not agreeing with me. It smells beautiful but it is not agreeing with my system, it's making me headachey and somewhat nauseated. I think I can't wear amber. DAMMIT! because this is so beautiful. If you can really wear orientals, things with deep bass notes (patchouli, musk, etc.), get this. -- I smelled this last night on a girlfriend who is darker and cooler skinned than I am (I am pale pink and always running hot), and it was the most exquisite thing I've smelled yet from BPAL - but IMO for mature women. It is a complex floral like Molinard de Molinard or Jolie Madame. Sophisticated and mature. For 30-somethings or older, and for evening, is my recommendation.

It settles within five minutes down to Wisteria on me, with an undercurrent of the smell of metal. I get the picture of a piece of jewelry in a celtic design, very intricate. And the color lavender (not the scent). I could wear this every day.

Hmmm .... I like it, I like it, what is it??? OH, sandalwood! sandalwood and ... VIOLETS! and here comes lilac. Enigmatic, extremely appealing.

Just got my imps from the lovely blackrayne and Black Phoenix is one. I put this on maybe five minutes ago. First note I got was licorice, then cedarwood and soap. Clary sage. Top note up very high of grasses/bracken. What amazes me most is this: I've had a migraine headache like an ice pick in my left temple for TWO DAYS now and maybe two inhalations of this made it all but disappear. I won't be without this one, ever, if only for medicinal purposes. I'd love to have my house smell like this. This could be addictive.

Me, too, me too. I'm soliciting my buds from the phermone forum, they're jonesing from just the descriptions and now my endorsement ... Beth needs to hire more helpers ...

Just got home and my package from the lovely Red Witche was waiting for me, with EVE ... I put the bottle straight to my nose the second I opened it and inhaled deeply, and when the scent hit my brain, I almost wanted to cry, got this feeling of laughing/crying for joy, it's so very beautiful. Yes, first roses, but holding hands with apple blossoms and drenched in honey, it's richly, heavenly sweet in the sense of taste, and sweet in the sense of temperament it conveys. Innocent, but not sexually innocent - innocent in the sense of total vulnerability with no fear of harm. Womanly and tender without self-consciousness. This to me could have been called The Garden of Eden - I smell wet earth, I get a sense of lush green grass, flowering trees swaying gracefully in a warm breeze, roses and blossoms in perfect bloom, bees buzzing, early summer, not spring, it's a little more mellow and golden than spring to me. The honey note is strong on me and feels like golden light. It smells fertile. It's etherially earthy. It made Cat Steven's Morning Has Broken start playing in my head. http://www.allspirit.co.uk/morning.html if you don't know the lyrics. I experience this as grace, warm and beneficent, easily giving without measure. It gives a feeling of bliss and optimism and dispels anxiety. It's hard to imagine liking anything more than I like this right now. It's my first BPAL scent, so I imagine I'll wax rhapsodic again and again as I smell each one. But for now, I'm smitten with Eve. Everything should smell just like this.

Getting sick of orders showing up as delivered...
Fulltiltredhead replied to kebechet's topic in Announcements
Yeah, it's called Signature Release. You agree to indemnify and hold FedEx harmless for leaving the package without your signature. That works too. But then that brings us back full circle to packages that are not signed for. USPS is working on better software for tracking. I work for a patent firm and they are a client. They have several method of doing business patents in the works. Maybe things will get better. -
Getting sick of orders showing up as delivered...

Talk about f*cked up hours - UPS gets delivered to a valet service in the building that is only open three hours a day, during which time I'm at work, and in the early morning on Saturday. If I get a package from UPS on Monday, I can't pick it up until the following Saturday. Drives me nuts knowing I've paid the little extra to upgrade from USPS to UPS and yet actually receive my package days and days after. -
Getting sick of orders showing up as delivered...

Use 3 day Fed Ex instead. It would increase shipping costs, but it's 99.9% reliable delivery AND someone has to sign for it, so you know beyond doubt who picked it up. IMHO, well worth the cost increase for the increased speed and security. I live in a high rise and the concierge will not sign for anything, but FedEx leaves a ticket on my door asking me to sign and tell them where to leave the package. So it actually takes me a one day longer to have it in my hands. But even if that's your situation, that you can't be there to accept delivery, it's just one more day after you sign the ticket they leave, and you will have your stuff. Check out this page from Aromaleigh: http://www.aromaleigh.com/arcussercen.html and on the page after, she gives the shipping rates. FedEx just seems easier on so many levels. USPS registered mail is a headache for the sender, too much crap to fill out. -
My order was on 3/16 - I just need it by 4/20 - the big bottle is a birthday gift ... glad things are getting back on track! Helpers are good ... Oh jeeez, I was typing this while you were typing about midget porn! Things are definitely looking up!

So very sorry to hear about your pain. As soon as I read the word "dilated," I felt like I was going to vomit. Been there, done that, HORRIBLE, and I still have revenge fantasies on the doctor. Healing thoughts your way, no worries, no pain, good sleep with sweet dreams ...
