  1. In the vial, its a medicinal mint.......and damn it opens up my sinuses!

When it dries its pretty faint, but still medicinal. A type of green herbal mint.

It doesn't really have a lot of throw, but i imagine it would knock you over if it did. Its very strong in the vial. I'm not really a minty type of person, as I dance, and most of the time, dressing rooms smell like tiger balm or icy hot and i just associate mints with muscle aches.

I think I'm going to keep the imp around for sniffing when I need some pick me up

  2. In the vial, its chocolately lavender and tonka. I'm excited.

On my skin, it starts to smell really girly, which is bizarre.

Then, all the chocolately lavender and tonka goes away and my wrists screams ROSEWOOD

Damn my body and its love for amplifying rose.

I'm keeping the imp just for sniffing.

  3. oh this is SO beautiful. In the vial is white floral, but a cold white floral. I get a touch of mint?

On the skin, its iris, calla lily, and ivy. This is such a light, beautiful scent. I love white florals and this is a great balance of light white florals and ivy. Its very faint on the skin, one of those nose to wrist scents.

I'm wearing this to bed tonight :P

  4. In the vial, its all merlot with a little bit of leather.

When it dries, its mostly leather, roses, and the sweetness of merlot. Its pretty. Sometimes it crosses to the boundary of too perfumey, but then comes back. For some reason, I'm getting a little bit of chocolate.

Its very faint on my skin and doesn't have much of a throw. I have wonky body chemistry. I'm glad the rose doesn't completely take over.

  5. Very airy, much like the Sylph's in Les Sylphides or the 1 Sylph in La Sylphide

As it was said in the other reviews, in the vial its primarily lavender and citrus. I think I'm detecting jasmine, but I could just be on crack.

Dry its almost all lavender with a little citrus. I was worried about the citrus as that doesn't play well on my skin

This is a very pretty, light scent that reminds me of something that could be in the Sominum.

It kind of reminds me of what the love child of Nanshe and Oneiroi would smell like

  6. Oh this is a bizarre scent! Its a bright scary red in the imp. I'm getting a little astringentness, cinnamon, and PEPPER. Like, cayenne pepper.

When it dries, its almost pure cayenne pepper and a little cinnamon, then a little bit of soap?

Its subtle once it dries, but still, its a very HOT scent. Definately a fire scent!

  7. Inspired by and created for my beloved Tedwin: my eternal, beautiful, wicked Dorian Gray. Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

I get ginger, vanilla, a tea.

Its a little masculine, but it also kind of smells like gingerbread cookies or Kirklands at christmas. I might try it on a male, but I'm not sure. I don't think its something I'd wear. I was expecting vanilla tea, but its more ginger cookie-ish.

I'll definately have to try it on a male and see what happens.

  8. Wow, this is SWEET

    like, really really sweet.

In the vial its honey and ylang ylang with a tiny bit of grape.

On the skin it smells like honeyed grapes and sugar with a little bit of musk.

I just can't get over how sweet this is. Its like I dipped a grape lollipop in sugar then smeared it all over myself

    ADDED Dec. 25:

Very very sweet honey. It reminds me a bit of bastet when it first goes on, as I seem to be getting an almond note

  9. in the vial its dry white florals.

On my skin, it starts to do the same thing Shroud did, which was to sort of smell like pickles.

It eventually morphs to violets, gardenia, and orris. It is a very soft, dry, gentle scent.

    It fits the name well.

  10. SAMHAIN '04

In the vial it was very strong and sweet, and a little boozey. I get a little bit of dr. pepper lip gloss that I've gotten from a few LE's.

On my skin, it goes a little head shop, but its mostly sweet apple smoke with a little bit of booze. I get the fir and outdoors, but its very faint. I'm so glad the apple didn't take over like it tends to do in other blends. It stays in the background.

I guess i can sum this up by saying that its like drinking apple wine in front of a bonfire.

Now i want to try the '03 and '05 versions :P

  11. This is very unusual, but beautiful.

Its a very soft musk, but there's also under currents of grasses, and a slight touch of coconut and vanilla. Its almost a creamy musk once it dries.

My dog is part akita, part border collie, so she has this beautiful soft, thick coat. I generally bathe her with a special oatmeal shampoo. This reminds me of sitting in front of the fire place and her snuggling up next to me (once she's forgiven me for the bath) and she smells so nice, like oatmeal cookies and soft fur.

I wish I had bought a bottle when it was up.

  12. I finally got a chance to try the 2004 Dia de los Mueutos. I really really wanted to because I heard this version was mostly chocolate and tobacco.

In the vial, I can smell chocolate, smoke, and flowers. I have high hopes.

On my skin, the chocolate and smoke all go away and I'm left with florals. All florals. It starts to go generic perfume on me.

It is different from the 2005 version. The 2005 version was all cactus and tobacco on me, and I ordered a 5mL immediately after trying it.

The 2004 version did last a long time, but its a little too floral for my tastes.

Maybe my body chemistry was hungry and ate all the chocolate and tobacco

  13. I was really expecting not to like this. I haven't not met a food scent I like.

This little imp proved me wrong

In the imp, it was warm maple sugar with a touch of booze.

I LOVE the smell of maple sugar, and hey, who doesn't like booze??

On my skin, its maple, booze, and spices. The candied fruits show up, but its like the fruit has been soaked in booze, candied, then coated in maple sugar. It has great throw and I'm in love with it

I'm wondering if this is going to convert me to a foody??

Edited to Add: I accidently put too much on before dance and got "Someone smells like Gingerbread"

and my teacher said "Did someone light Christmas candles??"

  14. oh poo, I'm sad this is discontinued. In the imp, it smells like the jasmine vine in my backyard after the rain. I also detect a little of #20 Love Oil??

On my skin, its all jasmine and heliotrope. Its a very dark green, like being entangled in damp vines.

Thankfully, the rose stays hidden. It comes out just to sweeten it a little

  15. In the imp, it smells like cotton candy and sugar

On my skin, it immediately goes to plastic, like I'm finished with the cotton candy and chewing on the plastic stick......

The plasticness fades, but never goes away and winds up smelling like a vanilla candle.

My body just does not like foody scents

  16. mosses and smoke with a little leather and wine.

I wore it to a dance class and sweating amped the smoke a lot, but it mellowed to a smokey/sweet scent, almost powdery, but not quite. At the end of class, it was like smokey vanilla and wine, with a little bit of grass.

    Odd, but it smells good!

  17. Smokey rose and moss in the vial. I was hoping the tobacco leaf would be stronger, but the roses are dominant. When it starts out, its definately smoke and rose. The smoke goes away and just leaves the roses after a while. My body has a supper power of amping up anything rose.

The roses are a pretty note in this, but I can't wear rose unfortunately

  18. Oh wow. In the vial, this is a gingery, chocolately booze.. It smells the same on my skin, but it kind of starts going a little craft store ginger. Thankfully when it dries, the sugar and booze comes out to tame the ginger and its really a fun playful scent. It fades a little quickly on my skin. It doesn't go away, just gets very subtle and soft.

All in all, a beautiful scent.

  19. In the vial and on my skin, its all deep rich potting soil. I adore the smell of dirt. This is definately Zombi without the roses. It fades on my skin almost right away, which makes me sad. Perhaps its more of an oil burner scent, or i just have wonky chemistry

  20. In the bottle, this is a very soft, subtle floral. I don't like florals, but this is a very soft scent and I like it. On my skin, I'm not really sure what notes are coming out, but its a very subtle scent, and a little sweet.

This is a very soft, subtle floral, good for spring or summer. It reminds me of Easter for some reason

  21. In the imp its very green and sharp. I'm getting mostly juniper and bamboo. I'm a little frightened because Juniper likes to make itself loudly known on my skin.

Once it dries though, the cedar comes out and mixes with the cardamom and moss. Sadly, it wasn't one I would have originally chosen so I didn't order a bottle when it was availible. This was one of those "surprise me" swaps I like to do and its absolutely beautiful and woody. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for more of this
