    Love and Sleep

This is a very pretty blend with a dominant note of creamy (as in actual milk) fig and ylang ylang. There is a base of vanilla in the background, grounding the scent nicely. I'm not sure I detect the orchid, but then again, I'm not entirely sure what orchid smells like in the first place. It's an extremely sweet and creamy blend, and I was positively surprised by how life-like the milk note was. I absolutely love milk scents! It has the same overall feel as Reflected Vulva, although this one seems a bit lighter. I love both, and deciding which bottle to get will be difficult!

    Absinthe Bonbon

In the decant I get a lot of white chocolate with a background of the well-known Absinthe scent, which to me is mainly anise and very fresh. On the skin, the white chocolate all but disappears into a very faint background note that I only detect because I know it's supposed to be there. The rest is all Absinthe. It's a nice enough scent if you enjoy Absinthe, but I was a bit disappointed that the chocolate note faded so quickly.

    Thrice Toss These Oaken Ashes

The apple is the dominant note for me, with a woodsy background, although I can't identify whether it's the cypress or the pine. Probably both. After a while the blend overall becomes more "ashen", but the apple remains a central note. It is not altogether so different from for example All Hallow's Apple. It is probably not the kind of scent I would be wearing regularly, but I really like it for the images it evokes and I love the concept. It's a different take on a spring perfume, although to me it still seems more fitting for autumn than spring. I'm glad I got to try it, but I won't be getting a bottle.

    Reflected Vulva

This is a fun and candy-like scent! The sweet pea is the most prominent note, which is fine by me as I love anything sweet pea. The cream is not very noticeable, but it lends a softness to the blend overall, and the sugar makes me think of candied sweet pea flowers! The cherry blossoms are mostly in the background. I can see this scent appealing to a lot of people. It's fun and sweet and pretty, and floral without being heavy. Wonderful creaminess!

Kneel Down, Fair Love, and Fill Thyself with Tears

It opens with mainly the orris root, but rather quickly the other notes come into play as well. Dove grey would definitely be a colour I would describe this with. The musk is very light and snuggly, and the florals are wistful and faint. It is a very understated blend that would fit a lot of occasions. No note is really overpowering the others, and they blend together well. I probably won't be needing a bottle, but I am glad I got to try it!

    Shamisen

This was a lot lighter than I had expected with all the wood notes listed. It opens with a citrusy touch, and I don't really know what is causing that. It's very nice. Maybe it's what's listed as the silk note, hm....? After a while it turns more smoky and woodsy, although the citrus is still there. It is actually quite sweet, and definitely has a cheerful lightness about it. It is a very pretty scent, and I am contemplating getting a bottle!

    Plovers Above the Waves

So far, this has been my favorite of the ones I've tested. It is incredibly creamy and sweet. I can't really pick up any individual notes, except I'm getting a bit of the tea rose, but not as overwhelming as roses sometimes go. It's heavy on the cream, but not cloyingly so. Overall, it's a very light, almost ethereal, and creamy floral blend with a bit of an aquatic feel from the abalone accord. It's not an aquatic perfume, however, it just has a little hint of it. I'm totally in love with it!

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

Unfortunately, the only one I'm familiar with is Hope and Fear Set Free, but I would also have recommended Ossa Arida. Others with a similar vibe are La Lugubre Gondola and Hesiod's Phoenix, which is also resins and vanilla.

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

I'm afraid I don't know most of those, but if you enjoy Mrs. Grose, maybe you'd also like White Rabbit, which is another very nice black tea blend. On me, Mrs. Grose is heavy on the cinnamon. If you like the spicy aspect, maybe you'd want to try Playful Wooden Mallets, which is cinnamon and musk. It's very good. Anyway, my top 5 are (in no particular order): 1. Picture Books in Winter 2. Mouse's Long and Sad Tale 3. Snow White 4. Alice 5. La Befana What are your thoughts?

    Bog water etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions that just keep on coming. I have a lot to seek out and test for sure!

Please help me find a signature GC scent

If you like rose, you might want to check out Roses, Pearls and Diamonds. I find it's very pretty. I haven't tried any of the LEs you listed, so sadly I can't compare them to GCs.

Notable LEs from 2012 and 2013?

I second Hesiod's Phoenix for a beautiful amber blend. Also, Autumn Fancies was a little hidden gem for me. Also a very pretty lemony amber blend.

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

La Befana is a sparkling, sugared floral. Very pretty and fun. It might suit brightly coloured hair like yours (it's not foody, even though it lists candy notes; it's more sugared violets, actually). Well, that was what came up off the top of my head (and I have a serious weakness for La Befana, so ).

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Oooh, how about Silver-Haired Bat, then? It has silver hair like you, and it has resins, spice and woods. (I haven't tried it myself, just going on a hunch here)

    Leaf-Strewn Couch

In the vial, this smells odd, not really like leaves, but I guess I can see how the old musty fabric comes into play. It is a little bit plasticky, to be honest, nothing like the leaf note I'm familiar with from several Halloween blends... My skin totally eats this. So I can't really comment on how it smells on my skin, sadly.

    Veritas

In the bottle, this is a very light and faint floral that I can't quite pick out. On my skin - call me crazy, but I get this extremely peppery note that I have no idea what is! Or almost like dark leather. SOMEthing. It's very strange, but it's basically all I get from it. I can't really comment on the blend, since I obviously get something entirely different upon application, but the pepper thing is not really to my liking.

    Eve

I starts out as a lot of sweet, juicy apple! Mmm. As it dries, the rose rears its head, and all the while there is the sweetness of honey in the background. It's a very pretty and festive blend that would be perfect for spring or early summer. It has decent throw as well. Overall, I really like it; it's bright and cherry and just the right combination of fruity and floral!

    Chaotic

This is sharp and almost fruity on me! The wasabi could be what's giving the blend the sharp edge. It's quite interesting and pretty, though I can't quite pin down individual notes. I can see it layering prettily with other RPGs.

    Thieves' Rosin

I'm sad. There's something in this that turns sickly sweet on me, not unlike the sickly note I unfortunately got from A Low Candle-Lit Room. I'm not too pleased, and I really wanted to like this.

    Elf

There is a whole lot of notes going on here, but I'll try and distinguish as best I can! At first, it has a rather soapy quality to it that I don't like. The violet is also strong at this stage. But as it dries, it mellows, and I get more of each individual note; there is sweetness from the berries, snuggliness from the musk, greenness from the aspen and the hawthorne, and a floral edge as well. It's a very clean, fresh and magical forest blend that makes me envision fairy lights and long shadows in summer woods with fireflies fluttering about. Very fitting for an Elf scent! Overall, it was a surprise hit for me, as the initial stage wasn't to my liking. If you find it too soap-like, give it a little more time!

    Paladin

I'm mostly getting frankincense and leather from this one. As it dries, it gets fairly faint, and a hint of metal peeks out as well. The faintness of the scent makes it suitable for layering with other RPGs, I think. It's very soft and comforting, and surprisingly the metal doesn't give it too much sharpness. The leather is a soft "white" type, and the frankincense isn't completely overpowering the scent. Overall, it's very well-blended and pretty. Kind of unisex, bordering on masculine, but not too much so.

    Lovers in the Tea House

This scent is quite heavy on the lemony amber to begin with! I like amber a lot, so I'm happy. It has a bit of bite from the rice wine as well. After a while the sandalwood comes out to play, and somehow I'm getting a slightly foody quality that must be the yôkan. It's very delicious in the dry stage, and the lemoniness of the amber has faded. It saddens me a bit that the dry stage is also very faint. Maybe I didn't put on enough of it? Or maybe it just IS supposed to be very light, as GoldenRubee mentioned in her review. Overall, it's a very pretty, slightly sweet and foody, blend that has all the goodness of both amber and sandalwood. I'm happy for my bottle!

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Lol, that actually sounds like my hair! Anyway, for some reason I immediately thought of Tristran. But then again, it could be because he is described as brown with more brown in the book. Also, Haunted would be pretty, I think. It has that sweet dusty kind of feeling I get from the color "bronde" as well.

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Maybe not overly foody, but I thought of Zephyr when I envisioned your hair! It has that citrus-vanilla thing going on that can be a little bit foody, and other than that it's just very light and pretty. Also, the recent 13 from December is a great light foody scent with white chocolate, coconut and pomegranates. That might fit as well.

    Shoggoth

This one is heavy on the lime while wet! I'm not able to distinguish all the different flowers, so to me there's just an overall floralness to the blend, but the citrus is definitely dominant. An almost dark citrus, even! Very befitting of Lovecraft. As it dries, it disappears almost completely on me, which is a little sad. What remains is a light muskiness and a teensy bit of flowers that for some reason seem "white" to me. Overall, it's a very delicious and fresh floral scent, but unfortunately it has almost no lasting power on me.
