It smells like a concentrated version of the bath oil with the additional notes of oak and leather peaking out. The oak and leather doesn't overpower the scent of amber, vanilla, and figs; but it makes the scent darker than the bath oil version.

This bath oil is simply amazing. I agree that it smells even better than the (new or aged) perfume oil. In the bath: I only use a small amount compared to the other bath oils - maybe that's why the scent dilutes to the smell of fresh Snake Oil. In any case, out of the bath, the scent is faint and lingers close to the skin. It also leaves my skin super silky soft and moisturized like no other BPTP bath oil has ever done. (Baby skin smooth - it's so great!) As an after shower moisturizer: An aged snake oil scent that lasts and lasts. In addition to moisturizing, it scents absolutely every article of clothing I've worn while using SOBO. It's absolutely wonderful. Hope this makes in into the Bath Oil GC.

Snow White 2009 Fresh: It smelled like coconut with wisps of white florals on the edge. On the skin, it turned into a coconut with hints of vanilla that bordered on plastic. Aged a bit: Much better. Vanilla with hints of white floral and snow all around. I can see why it's so popular, but it's something that definitely needs some aging before it can be worn.

The Peacock Queen 2009 In the bottle: It smells like real red roses at the height of bloom and beauty. A very strong rose smell. Afraid it might be overpowering on the skin. On the skin: Surprisingly mild on the skin. It's still red rose, but delicate enough to be worn all day without inducing a headache.

In the bottle: Smells like Snow White with rose. On the skin: It starts off akin to Snow White blended with rose. Very pink and feminine. Once it completely dries, it's a soft vanilla rose. I tried layering Snow White with The Peacock Queen (since I don't have any Rose Red) and got an extremely similar scent to Pink Snowballs. I have also layered Peacock Queen with Pink Snowballs for a rosier vanilla.

Smut 2010 In the bottle: Sweet red musk infused with booze. It smells heady and intoxicating. On the skin: Sweet red musk with a barely noticeable amount of booze. There's some vanilla peeking out too. It gets a little bit powdery, but that's probably something that can be fixed with age. Luscious blend.

Lovely red currents with bits of blackberries mixed together with some honey. Like the bath oil, a very clean and refreshing scent. Fortunately, the perfume oil lasts much longer than the bath oil with staying power of a few hours.

The bath smells of vanilla, fig, amber with hints of neroli. On the skin, the pine needle comes to the forefront and takes awhile to burn off. Once it does, all that's left is a beautiful scent of sweet vanilla fig with dabs of amber and teeny bits of neroli. Very beautiful.

Juicy red currents with the smallest hint of honey. It's a clean refreshing scent. Unfortunately, as a moisturizer, the scent doesn't last very long on the body. I also used it to scent some homemade body scrub - the scent lingered for a few hours afterward.

Raw pumpkin and spices. As a moisturizer, it turns into the smell of pumpkin pie on my body. It lasts almost all day. A very comforting foody scent.

Snow-laden woods, iced blackberry and bergamot, white rose, and crystallized amber. My favorite of all the Yule bath oils. A sweet icy blackberry with trace amounts of florals. I use it as a moisturizer. The throw lasts until I bathe again the next day and scents everything I'm wearing with the smell of Winter Maiden.

For some reason, this is a very comforting scent to my nose. The red musk in this blend is swoon worthy. Mostly red musk with hints of other notes I can't individually pick out. It's extremely well blended. Mysterious, deep, and dark, but not cloying or sinister. It has decent staying power and throw.

Got Sachs when it was first released. It originally smelled like a smokey buttery vanilla with a hint of chamomile. Same on the skin. Now all I can smell is chamomile with a hint of vanilla in the bottle. On initial application, the chamomile and bourbon vanilla (which I couldn't detect before) come out quite aggressively. Once it drys, it turns into a smoky vanilla with the tiniest hint of booze. This scent stays close to the skin as the description describes. Average lasting time, but with age, it seems to stay on longer.

Thanks to the lovely Suusje for a partial of Lady Una to try. I can smell the honey musk and blackberry leaf with a hint of spice in the bottle. The green tea leaf note appears to taper the honey musk preventing it from being too strong. Initially, Lady Una is a musky vanilla blackberry on my skin. After a couple of hours the blackberry disappears turning the scent into a light musky vanilla for the rest of the day. Though I wish the blackberry would last all day, it smells wonderful either way. Bottle worthy.

Candles Moon is a stunning blackberry scent. For me, it smells the same in the bottle, in a burner, or on the skin. Blackberries with a milky undertone. I can't detect any of the other notes. The throw lasts for several hours. Very similar - almost like a much stronger version - to The Winter Maiden, but Winter Maiden is sweeter and the blackberry a bit fainter.

Hod Resurrected smells completely different in the bottle and on my skin. In the bottle it smells like freshly crushed raw green carnations. On my skin, it becomes an amazing creamy spicy carnation scent. I can detect hints of vanilla, almond, and amber. The throw lasts all day. So beautiful.

I think it's a batch difference. It has happened in other blends too. In this case, I guess the myrrh in this batch is super strong. I ordered a bottle of Inez late last year and got the same "Whoa. Myrrh!". Based on reviews, especially the earlier ones where there's no mistake of what it's suppose to smell like fresh, I don't think Inez is usually that myrrh heavy. I've been aging mine and the myrrh is no longer as prominent, but still one of the dominant notes. Hopefully a little bit longer the myrrh note will get even less pronounced.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

What scents are similar to Hod? On me, Hod is a creamy spicy carnation. I've read that Morocco is similar. Could someone give me a scent comparison between Morocco and Hod please? (And any other scents that might be like Hod. ) Off the top of my head, I would say Lady Una. Candle Moon is a milky blackberry and Lady Una is a musky blackberry, but it's definitely the same blackberry note to my nose. -
Do you have a helpful friend who can sniff test the bottles for you? I would suggest having them blind sniff and try not to lead them in the direction of "does this smell different to you?" Yeah, I can definitely do that. I am really 99% convinced that the scent in the bottle is not The Girl based on reviews that I've read, but I don't want to e-mail the lab before I'm absolutely sure. I also thought it was kinda weird that my bottle was not quite full, whereas the bottle of Cake Smash that I got with it was full to the shoulder like they normally are. The bottle of TG that I got was right around the top of the label. On the positive side, I do like the scent (since UTHM is a favorite), so at least I have more of a scent that I like... ETA: Upon about the thousandth sniff, I can tell a little bit of a difference. Barely, but my bottle of The Girl is a little more vanilla-y, and the UTHM has a little more of a floral coming through. They're still super close, though. Actually, Under the Harvest Moon and The Girl smells similar to me too. My initial impression of The Girl was UTHM with something more cloying. At first I was a bit confused because they don't even share remotely similar notes. To me, UTHM smells smooth (I don't know how else to describe it) whereas The Girl is a muskier version of UTHM. The similarities are definitely there.
