this is pretty much cocoa-butter on me, and not much else. maybe almond milk? it's very buttery, and that's all. i like it, but it's not really my kind of scent, so i will swap it. i like the scent of cocoa butter, but not as a perfume, for some reason.

hmm, i felt kind of meh about this scent at first, but as it dried, i liked it more and more. i mostly get saffron, tonka and tobacco i think. it is a nice scent, but not very remarkable on my skin. i think if the orange blossom honey was stronger, i'd be more into it. don't get me wrong, it is pretty, but it just doesn't wow me right now.

damnit, this is just too resiny for me...must be sandalwood or frankincense? all i seem to get is heavy resins that turn to a peppery-lead scent on me. not all that romantic. i wish the musk, plum and amber blossomed on my skin more, but this is pure resins and opium, which isn't working with my skin chemistry. bummer.

OMG i love this. i didn't think much about it, till i read the review that mentioned hypnotic poison, then i became interested. this definitely is reminiscent of HP, but is a little sweeter and more musky. this is gorgeous, and i must have a bottle now! i don't know what sweet spices these are, but i am really liking them. this is like a creamy vanilla-orange-musk on my skin, it's to die for. the gardenia is very subtle and the orange is not overly orangey either. perfect!

Deadly and seductive: vanilla-infused sandalwood, blood musk, antique patchouli, vetiver, lavender, bitter almond, amber, and a trickle of Snake Oil. i get a clear red musk when i put this on, mixed with florals? though it doesn't really smell like lavender much to me, hmm. i can see how this is reminiscent of snake oil, but i like this better, because snake oil isn't all that great on me. there's a bit of spiciness here too, very pretty and sexy. i'd file this under One of Those Sexy Red Musk Blends, like ecstasy of passion. i love those kind of scents, so i pretty much love this too, though now i have a lot of scents that are very reminiscent of each other, and this one is no exception. still i think the floral/lavender component is what makes this one stand apart a bit. i like it and will keep my decant.

umm, hmm. i tend to avoid fruity scents a lot, but i have another creamy-strawberry scent i like, so i figured i'd give this a try. in the vial it's a foody-vanilla mixed with a hiny of strawberry, but on my skin, it's a leafy-green strawberry scent with lots of vanilla. it smells more what i imagine strawberry leaf to be, rather than strawberry itself. so on me it's a green-vanilla scent. it's not necessarily bad, but i don't really think this is my kind of scent.

damn my skin chemistry to hell! this is another scent that i was fairly sure would work, that smells amazing in the vial, but just does not work on me in the vial it smells like soft, bright florals and oakmoss! i love oakmoss scents, and they tend to work on me, as do most of these notes, most of the time. what i am getting from lady on the grey is a pretty tobacco-floral, with a hint of something sharp, that i generally get from paper/parchment notes, and maybe sometimes wood notes? so it could be the sandalwood or the "soft resins" but something is ruining this scent on my skin, and sadly, i will have to swap it.

wow, i was sure i would love this! i love carnation scents, and i liked the infernal lover a lot...this smells like infernal lover in the bottle with a hint of something in the background which i cannot describe. on my skin, it starts out as a slightly-foody vanilla, like in infernal lover. then the carnation comes through, and it smells like sour, rotting flowers. what, no! carnation always works on me, so WTF. there must be another floral in here that's going wonky. occasionally rose does, but we are generally good friends, so if there is rose, there is that possibility. this is a huge bummer, as i was really really looking forward to this scent. i think my skin chemistry must be changing lately.

got this as a frimp from the lab....oooh OMG this is beautiful. i love TKO, both for it's scent and it's aromatherapeutic properties. so this is TKO with an added slightly candy-like sweetness, which is quite nice. it must be the melon? it's not over melon-y at all, thankfully, because i am not a fruity fan. i gotta get some of this right away!

this is a great scent for a hot weather/cool water bath, which i tried last night. it reminds me a lot of embalming fluid with a bunch of ginger added. very crisp, green, clean and refreshing. i didn't get any strong jasmine, neroli or lotus, it was mostly ginger and tea in my bath. very lovely!

trying this on my skin to get a feel for the scent. i am a painter, and also enjoy writing, and i really need some creative inspiration lately. i think what i'm smelling is lemongrass and ylang ylang? or some other white floral. it has a very medicinal scent to it, and it's very lemony and herbal. i could see how this could be uplifting but focusing at the same time...can't wait to try it soon for its intended purpose!

this is lovely, haven't had a chance to try it on candles, but i can see how the scent is joyous and uplifting. i tried it on my skin and it's a citrussy bubblegum scent. it reminds me of juicyfruit gum, but isn't as strong smelling, and has a hint of something to soften it a bit, though i cannot pick out just what that something is, but maybe some kind of resin? i know that's vague, but i have trouble placing the scent of certain resins sometimes. can't wait to try this on candles!

ooh this is nice! i get incense and leather mostly...maybe some benzoin and oakmoss as supporting notes. it's got a freshness to the leather that i am really liking! there is also something kind of woodsy or tree-like in this that i am digging, maybe the guiac?
-
ooh, mama likes this! at first it's all lavender, and then it fades to a rose-floral, with rose and lavender being most prominent. a beautiful, floral scent. it seems very "victorian" to me, but what do i know? the only thing is, it doesn't seem to hang around as long as other bpal room sprays i've tried, unfortunately.

this was a frimp from the lab. it's surprisingly pretty and feminine, really not what i expected at all. in a way, it reminds me of oscar de la renta's scent, which my grandmother wore. (i've said this about another scent which was a dead ringer.) this one is not a dead ringer, but it's definitely reminiscent of that scent to me. it's soft and almost powdery in a way. it kind of smells like coty powder, like the powder my grandmother's used to wear, so yeah, i'd say this is a very classic scent. i can barely detect the tobacco, i am guessing this is mostly date palm and snakeroot? there is also no leather to be found. this is a powdery, sweet scent. i almost want to keep the imp, but it's not really the type of scent i'd wear.

this was a frimp from the lab. this is sour lily of the valley and something gross and sour-smelling underneath. i thought opoponax worked on me, but i'm not sure i've ever really smelled it as a prominent note, like it is in this scent. all i know is, this is a wet sour-floral on me...it smells like a bouquet of dying flowers when they get that sour, but at the same time, sickly- sweet smell. no thank you!

hmm, this is an odd scent? i was expecting a kind of resiny-rose scent, which i thought might work, but alas, this does not. it's kind of peppery and foody in a way, but not sweet or spicy foody, but more like regular non-dessert food-foody. i looked up some of the notes, and i am not sure what yew smells like, but i know i often have issues with bpal's wood notes. i also have issues with their frankincense (sometimes), and i think elemi isn't working too well for me either. wikipedia says elemi is a lemony-pine scent, and i think i am detecting that plus this weird foody-peppery note? it almost smells like dill?! wtf skin chemistry!!

this definitely smells kind of golden-brown, like the description, but there is greenery and mild aquatics here too. i think i am getting the woods and the bay, and that's pretty much it. maybe the "gleaming" feathers is the kind of golden ozoney-aquatic i am getting? yeah, i am really not like this too much, as i am not a big fan of woods or bay...i was hoping for more vanilla and carnation, but sadly i can detect neither one.

wow, this one is quite a morpher on me! in the bottle i smell red musk and something green, maybe juniper? at first on my skin, this is very much like trick #1 or the ecstasy of passion. a clear, sweet, beautiful red musk scent. then it morphed into something strange that had a bit of a lead scent, that i get from sandalwood or frankincense sometimes, then it changed again to a beautiful red musk with what seemed like a hint of vanilla, and it's pretty much stayed like that, though the vanilla-y scent has faded a bit, and this is now a sexy, spicy red musk. it is a very hot smelling scent, like warm blood, it totally has that feeling to me. i get none of the icy musk or veined marble, this scent is very warm on me.

now me and plum have a difficult relationship-it usually turns plasticky on my skin, but in this scent it behaves! there must not be very much of it? however, all i seem to get is berries and plum. this is straight up sweet-fruit on my skin and nothing else. i like non-fruity scents for the most part, or fruits as accents in darker scents, but i don't get any smoky amber, benzoin or myrrh from this at all! it actually reminds me of the smell of my mom's house, if some sweetly scented candle she has. this will be going in the swap pile, because sadly, it is not me.

i knew i had to get this because my own natal mercury/venus are at 26 aries, pretty much conjunct this conjunction! when first applied, this smells like an herbal-lemon scent, but it quickly morphs into a lemony-floral. i cannot place the floral, so it may be magnolias as others have stated above. it's a soft, white floral scent with just a tinge of sweetness. hard to explain, but this is like a subtle-floral-skin scent. it is not a skin musk or anything, but reminds me of a skin/hair scent, like the scent of something alive...hard to articulate. i just put this on this morning, but i do feel kind of a mood boost from it. it seems comforting yet motivating at the same time, and very familiar for some reason, but i cannot place it. i look forward to using this one and will cherish my bottle.

damnit damnit, opium sometimes works on me, rose usually does, but rarely it doesn't. i thought if anything, opium would be the culprit, but noooo, it's the rose! it smells good on top, but there is a sourness underneath that i often get from white florals, and occasionally get from rose. other than that, this is a beautiful scent, if it did not have that rosy-sourness, i would love this. so sad. ETA: ok, after about an hour, this is a dark rose scent and i it. if only it weren't for that supreme sourness in the beginning...i'm not sure i could deal with it for as long as it lasts.
-
aw, what a pretty, soft scent this is! i think i am mostly getting amber and petitgrain, because i get a slight white-floral scent in the background, and the only thing that seems close would be petit grain. this is a very warm, fuzzy scent. slightly sweet and very comforting. it kind of just brings a smile to my face i don't know if i need a bottle, but i will definitely keep my imp.
-
this is a powdery narcissus-patchouli scent on me, with a hint of neroli in the background. none of the other notes seem to stand out much, so they must be blended very well. i also get a very slight sweetness, but i am not sure what it's from. sometimes teak goes bad on me, but it behaves here! this scent is alright, but not amazing on me.

hrrm, i definitely smell the plum the strongest, as usual. i think my skin amps plum and turns it plasticky, so it sometimes overwhelms. sigh, i guess i should know to steer clear of plum, but this sounded so neat! however, as time passes, the plum does tone down a bit, and i am getting some kind of slight spiciness? but a soft spiciness, not spicy like cinnamon or anything. not sure what that is. the cream isn't very creamy and i am not getting any overwhelming floral either. what an odd scent...it's plum with something, but i cannot make out what that something is! perhaps it's just a subtle creaminess? because there is definitely a warmth to it. i almost like it, if only plum didn't turn plasticky on me. ETA: about an hour later, i kind of like this, against my better judgment. i think i could wear it in winter and like it a lot. so i will keep my imp. the plum is only slightly plasticky now, and it's kind of a comforting scent.
