initially, the red musk is the strongest. in the imp it reminds me of smut, but a clearer, less murky smut. on my skin the other notes blossom in a few minutes. the black currant and orchid become more prominent, but red musk remains the strongest note. all the other are in the background as supporting notes. i quite like this- a more subtle, everyday-wearable smut on my skin.

this is a pretty floral aquatic. very clean and fresh but with a hint of sweetness. it smells like freshly shampooed hair to me. it's kind of familiar and comforting. it's also cooling-perfect for the spring and summer.

damn, i thought caramel would be the deal-breaker here, but it's the teak. i get a weird sharp-wooden smell from teak that is just totally unenjoyable. all the other notes work on me though and this would be a drop-dead gorgeous scent if it weren't for the teak adding a wonkiness to it. it's been years since i tried this and was frimped the latest version: this smells very apple-y sweet at first. i think it's honey and apples. my impression seems quite different from the past, where apparently, i didn't get apples at all! i don't wear many fruity scents, so i'm not sure about this. after a couple of minutes i get some woods, and yes theyre a bit sharp, but not too sharp and some cream accord. the apple seems to be giving me a headache. it's a very green granny smith sour apple (which i love the taste of) but it's not really what i want to smell like. after a few more minutes, this changes completely-the caramel comes out and improves the scent for me, but it's still too sweet and appley for my personal tastes, plus i seem to amp the caramel and apple quite a bit.

Rose, rose geranium, myrrh, ylang ylang, French gardenia, tuberose, red sandalwood, and palmarosa. this is one of those rose scents that turns horribly wrong with my skin chemistry, which is about 25% of the time. it's like a sour, decaying rose. unless it's the rose geranium. i can sort of smell the tuberose but that's about all else i can make out. i need to wash this off right away, the rose is just sickly smelling on my skin :/

this scent surprised me with how PRETTY it is!! it's like a sweet, soft slightly sugary lemon scent on my skin. i can't really pick out a lot of the notes, as they are blended so well. i do smell the beeswax too, which adds a nice honey backdrop for the lemon. thankfully, i don't smell the frankincense at all, which sometimes turns on me. this is reminiscent of another scent i've tried, but i can't place it. this is kind of the perfect honey scent on me. i may need a bottle of this one...

in the imp i smell patchouli and pepper, pretty simple, however this scent blossoms on my skin quite beautifully. i love carnation scents, and it adds a nice extra spice to the black pepper and clove, which is all i can really smell, the clove being most prominent. that's fine with me, because sometimes patchouli can be too earthy for my tastes. i only wish the tea came out more on my skin. this actually smells a lot like clove cigarettes, but without the hint of sugary sweetness. very nice!

wow what a pretty scent! in the imp, the fig and orange are very prominent. on my skin, the notes are blended so beautifully that it is difficult to pick them out. i definitely smell the fig and musk as the most prominent notes. the nutmeg is (thankfully!) just a hint in the background. this reminds me a bit of lancome's tresor which i used to wear some in high school, except this is subtler, prettier and more complex. i am contemplating a bottle of this one.

i have been dying to try this for ages and i hoped and prayed that it wouldn't be too foody, but it is. i wish it were "Crushed roses and blackcurrant tarts." then it would be perfect for me, but that foody-cakey part from the tarts is not making me happy.

what an interesting scent this is. it strongly reminds me of something i have smelled before, but cannot place. it has an ethereal ozoney quality but there is an underlying sweetness and slight fruitiness from the yuzu. the lavender and white musk are the base of the scent, and the patchouli and vetiver are very subtle. i like this more than i thought i would, but i can't decide if i would actually wear it or not.

this is a very mossy, woody scent. it brings to mind brown and dark green. it's foresty and earthy, reminiscent of tarot: death, without the vetiver. there is also a slightly damp feeling to this, like damp wood. very dark, earthy and interesting!

weird, something in here reminds me of buck moon/ivanushka (which remind me of each other). i think it's the musk? and i smell the coconut and the sandalwood is hinted at in the background. this scent is very warm and and dusty. the incense is very strange. this is a really interesting scent-so difficult to describe but it is an incensey buck moon on me, with a less outdoorsy quality.

all i am really getting here is amber, leather and wood, i think? maybe a hint of the flowers. it smells like leather + tobacco though. very reminiscent of other bpals ive tried. i love leather scents, so i quite enjoy this!

this is all rose, skin musk, and coconut on my skin, after about half an hour. prior to that it's mostly coconut, sage and orchid or calla lily...something floral, but not as rosy. the rose doesn't come out until later. this reminds me of a rosy version of tarot: the star instead of a lime one. very light, springlike and pretty. i will probably keep my imp but not get a bottle.

inez is my favorite newer-CD scent thus far. carnation is one of my absolute favorite notes, so i was thrilled to try this one! it's a warm, musky, spicy scent-very sexy! the notes blend together seamlessly, and while i note the spice of the carnation, the notes are blended so well and none really stick out prominently. at least on my skin. love this one, want a bottle!

i can smell the tea, vanilla musk and chrome in the imp. on my skin, all i get is the chrome-ozone and not much else! i am not a big ozone fan and this ozone is not subtle, so it's off to be swapped.

ooh so pretty. it starts off a peppery amber with a bit of tangerine to liven it up, then the deeper notes of tobacco and maybe a hint of vetiver come out after being on the skin about 30 minutes. the vetiver is pretty subtle in this one. it ends up being mostly amber, pepper and tangerine. it's so rich and pretty.

at first all i smelled was watermelon and aquatics. then it mellows out and i get a soft aquatic, but i can't really make out any other notes. i can't seem to sense the violet or mint at all. it's very ethereal and it is pretty, it's just not for me.
-
at first, this definitely smells like one of the musky sexy blends- smut, voodoo queen, venom or trick #1. the red musk and clove are the most prominent. when it sinks into my skin, i think the florals come out more. the vanilla is a background note- i am mostly getting a musky floral. i really like this, it's very beautiful. i think i might have to get a 5ml.

got this as a frimp from someone. i'd always avoided it because dragon's blood isn't my thing, but i was kind of curious to try it anyway. this is a very fiery scent. all i really get is cinnamon and dragon's blood with maaaybe a slight hint of vetiver in the background. not my thing, so it shall go to swaps.

Babylonian musk, vanilla tea, tonka, tobacco, coconut, hyssop, and lilac. this is very floral and perfumey on my skin. there is a sweet floral and vanillas, except the floral doesn't smell like lilac to me, in the traditional bpal sense. usually bpal's lilac is very strong on me and smells similar to the jasmine and honeysuckle notes, which all turn on my skin. not so with this! this has a beautiful almost tropical feel to it and it is very pretty-more reminiscent of orchids or gardenias, i think. i will keep my imp but i am unsure about buying a whole bottle yet.

not sure what notes makes desert sand, but there is definitely something airy and dry in this. i get some cinnamon, ginger and black pepper, maybe a hint of red musk. i don't detect any dragon's blood or tobacco. this seems sort of masculine to me, in a boyish way. something about it is almost powdery, giving it a more youthful feel. this one is very hard for me to describe. it's not really something i would wear so i will swap it.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
theseagrows replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
The only BPAL that I find smells like cannabis is Bien Loin D'ici, but I think it might be just me haha, well cannabis santal doesn't really smell all that much like cannabis to me, even though it's in there. it's more like a green-chocolate-vanilla. i think i tried bien loin d'ici and it didn't work on me :/ -
Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

does anyone know a bpal that smells similar to fresh's cannabis santal? they say it's a men's scent, but i find it rather sexy for a woman. anyway, here are the notes, according to fresh's website- # Top: Bergamot, Brazilian Orange, Black Plum # Heart: Patchouli, Cannabis Accord, Rose # Base: Chocolate, Vetiver, Vanilla Musks thanks -
ooh this is a nice one. in the imp i smell the absinthe and sugar and not much else. on my skin the florals bloom and i get a slight smokiness. there is something candylike about this, and there is a slight sourness at first, which could be the rose water. however, i really like this scent overal- it's subtle and pretty. the only problem is it fades very quickly and doesn't have much throw.

eh, i get a sharp rose and patchouli from this with something else that i can't quite place. maybe benzoin? except i thought i liked benzoin, and i am not much liking this scent. it's kind of sour and unremarkable on my skin. rose often works, but this is one of the roses that just doesn't work. perhaps it's because it's mixed with patchouli, which is also hit or miss? i can't be sure.
