i've had more trouble sleeping lately than usual, so i gave this a whirl last night. it's lavender and herbal, like others have said, but i have no idea what herb it is. i slept pretty well for awhile, but i didn't remember my dreams. i was awoken by my cat and after that had restless sleep. i should've reapplied some. but the first few hours when i first went to sleep i slept very soundly. i am going to try it some more and see how it works and also let me insomniac best friend try it and see if it works for her.

i smell a snowy note like the one in talvikuu from a few years back, as well as a soft green floral with slight powdery? overtones. the snowy note is more prominent on my skin, but i wish the florals were stronger. it's a pretty scent, but i don't think i'd wear it much, as snowy notes are not my favorite.

this reminds me of the rose version of premature burial (old version, i haven't tried the new PB.) the dirt note is subtle like that in PB, and is not as strong as the one in zombi. also the dirt note in zombi is long lasting, but this one doesn't last long on my skin and gives way to a pretty floral scent. the stephanotis adds a softness to the scent and i can detect the ivy. calla lily sometimes goes wonky on my skin, but it's ok in this blend...though i can't necessarily pick it out. definitely a keeper!

oh god i love this one! it's definitely the hands down winner of the 6 retail exclusive salons i tried, and also the one i was most excited about. carnation and skin musk are 2 of my absolute favorite notes. as someone else mentioned above, i get a cocoa-y scent from this, which may be the honey. this is blended perfectly, and i cannot make out the patchouli at all, which i good because i don't like strong patchouli. this is a musky-cocoa-y-floral on my skin. the carnation is subtle and the magnolia i can just make out in the back adding a slight sweet floral to the rest of the mix. i must get a bottle of this!

i like this better than i thought i would, but it's a bit perfumy on me as well. mostly i get peony, spanish moss, violet leaf and marine accord. this is aquatic but dark, as others have said. it makes me think of a dark pond in the middle of nowhere on a completely silent night-it really evokes the artwork fabulously. i'm not sure if i would wear this, but it is pretty and very evocative.

at first the lemon verbena is most prominent, then the other notes come out more. in rare cases, rose goes sour on me, and it does so in this scent, (unless it's magnolia, which i have less experience with?) i can smell the rose, moonflower and musks. if the lychee is there, it's subtle, as is the lemon verbena. this is very pretty in the imp- a cool, floral aquatic. unfortunately it doesn't do all that well with my skin chemistry.

this is a warm, spicy resiny scent. the clove seems to dominate on my skin and the orris and rose add a softness. the patchouli must be supporting in the background because i can't really sense it here. this is woody and resiny on my skin with a bit of musk. i like it but don't love it, so i think it will go to swaps.

i'll start off by saying i figured some of the notes might not work on me, and i basically tried this because my name is kate. this has a LOT of throw. in the imp all i really smells is the freesia and gardenia and other florals. on my skin it's strong sharp green florals, with a hint of honey, and the currant adds a slightly nauseating sweetness on my skin. unfortunately, this just doesn't work on me- the throw is just way too strong and gives me a headache.

wow i always avoided this one because of the peach, but i just got it as a frimp from the lab and i like it a lot! it's a warm, golden happy scent. the peach is subtle enough to be a supporting note instead of the main thing, which is nice for me, since i don't do fruity notes. all the notes are blended very well, and flow together seamlessly. i'll definitely keep my imp!

i got this as a frimp from the lab. in the imp i smell green tea, grapefruit and something foody which doesn't seem to be listed in the notes...something toasty smelling. on my skin it's a fresh pale green scent with that hint of toastiness to it. after awhile the toastiness fades completely and i'm left with a soft aquatic floral. very pretty and light. not really my tastes, but still pretty!

A disconcerting scent, heavy and oppressive, through which no light, no matter, and no spirit can escape. Black opium, labdanum, opoponax, black orchid, and benzoin. i thought i could get around the opium in this, because as far as i know, all the other notes work on me, however, the opium is pretty prominent, so it's adding a sourness to the scent that i am not enjoying all that much. i basically can smell the opium, orchid and opoponax. it's resiny and the orchid adds a nice subtle hint of floral...i love orchid, so that's why i picked this one up. i might wear this occasionally, but opium tends to turn on me, so probably not all that much.

i got an empty bottle of this from a decant circle not really my type of scent, it's very sweet and fruity but with a crystalline aquaticness to it. sniffing the bottle, the pear is very strong. the pear and freesia are the strongest notes on my skin, and i do agree this reminds me of a black moon, but it's more sugary. the white musk adds a nice softness to the background. it is very pretty, just not really my style.

aw i was hoping for more of the violet, but this is very foody on my skin. at first it's a caramelly scent, and that's ALL i can smell. once it settles down a bit, the florals come through and i am enjoying it a bit more, but the caramelly note is much too sweet for my tastes, so i'll have to swap this. eta: after an hour or two, this is really nice. i am just contemplating whether waiting on the foodiness to settle is worth it. hmmm.

this is resiny-musky and the orris adds a powderiness, but i like it. the copal is way in the background and i have to breathe deep to smell it. luckily this frankincense works with my skin chemistry and does not turn to pencil shavings. this is warm and sensuous, definitely a keeper!

when first applied, this smells EXACTLY like black pearl on me- musky-coconut. when it fades some the coconut settles and musk comes out more and it reminds me of a cross between buck moon and black pearl. very very pretty and warm. i will definitely be keeping my imp.

this definitely smells like sweet nightblooming flowers, with an added ozone quality, which i think is the blue musk. i defnitely get moonflower and phlox, and thankfully the mint and honeysuckle are non-existent on my skin. this is a pretty scent, but too sweet and aquatic for my personal tastes, so i think i will swap it.
-
when i first put this on, there is something SO familiar about it, but i am having trouble placing it. it's minty but with something herbal underneath. i like it quite a lot at that stage, but once it fades, the mint is gone and i get an old and musty smell :/

this is a soft, warm pretty scent. it's musky and a bit powdery. the florals are subtle and not cloying at all. very pretty! another snake pit scent that i love.

this is a sweet, almost tropical floral. i definitely smell plumeria and tuberose the strongest, with the incense and sage adding a slight herbal quality and keeping the florals in check. this smells very pink and purple to me. it's very pretty-i'd love to wear this in spring or summer.

this is a musky vanilla-floral, though no floral notes are listed, this definitely smells "floral-oriental" to me. i LOVE this. easily shot up to the top of my favorites list. something here is reminiscent of carnation or chrysanthemum, but is neither one. the tobacco is warming and lovely, and perhaps combined with the vanilla gives me the floral feeling? i'd love to hoard many bottles of this one

in the bottle it smells like a mish-mash of florals with a hint of something foody (maybe rice flower?) on my skin it blossoms into a beautifully blended floral. i enjoy the scent for about 20-30 minutes, as a nice, sweet, feminine floral. soon however, the scent fades and all i am left with is a generic white floral scent...probably honeysuckle and lily? i wish the mid-phase lasted on my skin, but alas it does not.

i got a sniffie of this in a swap. and i admit, i probably never would've tried it otherwise. pine smells like pine on me, but i don't generally like smelling like pine. however, this is one of the nicer pine scents i've tried. i do love ambergris and black musk and they give the pine a nice warmth, that is a bit powdery on my skin. the juniper and cypress remain subtle enough in the background. not a scent i absolutely adore, but a nice surprise nonetheless.

this is one of beth's most interesting scents. when i first sniffed the bottle i was a bit apprehensive because it smelled very herbal and slightly sour. it's strong on my skin at first, but once it settles it smells really lovely. very dry, it definitely conjures up imagery of dead leaves. i can smell the clove, saffron and amber the most. this is a pleasant surprise, i'm glad i got a bottle of this. eta: a few minutes later the chrysanthemum comes through (one of my favorite notes) adding a more feminine edge to the scent and now i really love it

what possessed me to try this, i do not know, as dragon's blood is not a note i really like, but i think the smoke and blood musk notes drew me in. at first i smell the dragon's blood and pomegranate very strongly-it's very sweet and fruity. once it settles down a bit on my skin, the myrrh, musk and smoke come through (my favorite notes in this scent) and it smells like a nice sweet smoke.

this is really nice stuff. very warm and amber-musky. i can't pick out many notes, since it is well blended, but i do put it in the same camp with trick #1 and the ecstasy of passion, which are 2 of my absolute favorites. it doesn't smell exactly like them, but i get a similar feel from them. i only have a half-imp, but i may track down a bottle one of these days.
