this was a surprise hit for me! first it started off by smelling like almonds (or some other kind of nut) and dirt, which i wasn't too wowed by, as bpal's almond note smells weird on me. soon the almonds disappeared and only dirt remained. now that it's been about half an hour and i get a great spiciness with a hint of dirt in the background. it's not cinnamon spicy either, i have no idea what it is, but i love it!

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Cross between Angel and Lolita Lempicka: Xiuhtecuhtli Prescriptives Calyx: Empyreal Mist Terpsichore: Oscar de la Renta (maybe only on me though??) Othello & Ode on Melancholy: Jean Paul Gaultier -
this is a summery, sweet and warm floral on me. not what iris generally smells like to me, so maybe it's the herbs that are the floral-scented component? i dont get much sandalwood, except perhaps way in the background. something about this scent is extremely familiar but i can't place it. it reminds me of the desert.

all i get from this is a strong powdery violet. the lilac and tuberose must be playing subtle supporting roles. this smells a lot like violet candy. it feels very victorian to me, therefore i love it.

this smells like apple cider to me, thus reminds me of christmas/winter/autumn. i can see that it smells like orange spice, but it still reminds me of apple cider, even if it doesn't smell completely apple-like. i think i'd like to wear this one at the beginning of fall, but not much during the rest of the year. it is very evocative of autumn to me though.

i love this one just as much as faith, which i was pretty much sure of. this smells like rose candies. i think the rose stands out here more than the violet in faith, which i think is more creamy, whereas this is more sugary. it smells gorgeous, i definitely have to get another set of these in the future! the cream note in this scent is the only one that frightened me, but the rest sounded amazing. when first applied, i get a creme bruleeish smell, like caramely-burnt cream. once it subsides a bit, the carnation and orange blossom come out , and it reminds me of a perfumey orange tea with cream. the iris adds a strange metallic zing to the background that i actually quite like. at first i didn't like this, but the longer i wear it the more it grows on me.

i absolutely love this. it's a beautiful, soft vanilla-violet scent, what i would imagine violet cake frosting tasting like. i think this may be a multiple bottle purchase. Switched --Shollin

O smells like hay on me, but i'm probably the only one.

oh wow i love this one. different kinds of lilies seem to work on me and others not. black lily is the best lily i've come across. it's creamy and reminds me of orchid a bit for some reason. the color that comes to mind is purplish-black. i think i'll have to get a bottle of this.

at first all i get from this is lavender, then the rose, orchid and white musk peek out. thankfully, i cant smell the frankincense, so i like this one quite a bit. the only thing is, my skin seems to eat most of it up and it becomes very faint

this is very strong and smells like tuberose, gardenia and anise at first. when it dries i feel like i sense some lavender in the background, or something a touch herbal-spicy. as it dries the gardenia is everpresent and now there's a spicy-powdery scent that i can't place. it reminds me of some moonflower bath gel i tried from the body shop once, so maybe that's what that note is? this is like pale shining white in darkness and evokes the moon beautifully.

this scent evokes a lot of imagery for me. this reminds me of a damp forest like others have said, and not of death necessarily, but it smells very familiar. i smell herbs, wet woods, vetiver, and leather. maybe a touch of patchouli too, but it's not strong. it is very comforting and natural in some way, not scary or dark to me at all. i often don't like earthy scents, but i just adore this one. it really reminds me of a forest and is absolutely beautiful.

this smells like apples and amber with a faint scent of herbs in the background. i'm not sure what possessed me to try this, as fruity scents arent usually my thing. that being said, this is a nice smelling apple and is very authentic and not too cloying. i think it would be a nice scent for fall. not sure whether i'll keep it, since i don't think i'll get a lot of wear out of it.

this is an herbal-vanilla-powder scent. i am getting the cotton blossom sort of note that is in enraged bunny musk, but it's much stronger and there is no white musk. this might be ok if it were softer, but i am not a big fan of powdery scents, and i think my skin amps this one into headacheland

both of these are decants i got, one from swapping, one as a frimp. MCCXXXVII: i cant really pick out many specific notes in this, but it's a vanilla-incense-floral-wood scent to my nose. there is an underlying warm scent that burns my nostrils a bit, but i just can't place it, but it could be some sort of sandalwood, which my skin amps sometimes. i think perhaps this has rose or some sort of powdery floral, incense and sandalwood. maybe some tonka or vanilla too. CXXXV: this one smells very light and pale green and watery but with a little sharp citrus. maybe green tea, grapefruit (or yuzu?) and some light watery floral? reminds me of baohban sith a bit, if i am remembering correctly. except i think it's more subtle and not as citrussy. this is a super-turbo-aquatic. in the beginning i think i smell some melon? then it fades into aquaticland. and gives me a headache. off to swaps.

this is an incensey ozone scent on my skin. it almost reminds me of the smell of rain on the sidewalk, but not quite, as this has a frankincensey vibe to it. bpals frankincense wont work with my chemistry, so ill have to swap this one. this is a very interesting scent though, dark and light at the same time.

this smells like an ambery-musky white floral with the white sandalwood underneath. i get a slight dry and woody feeling from it, perhaps it's the hyssop or immortelle? it's very well blended and a bit sophisticated. however, the lily of the valley turns sour on my skin so i think i'll be swapping this one.

ive waited so long to try this one, and i wish i hadn't. i love this!! it's the male dorian to me, even though i know dorian is considered gender neutral. it doesn't smells like dorian, but it gives me the same sort of feeling that dorian does for me as female, but in a male way. or something. but i like it on myself too. it smells a little bit foody to me- vanilla with an underlying spice, which may be the rosewood and how it's mixing with the other elements? the pine and juniper are very subtle and not overpowering at all. it's sexy but also very comforting to me.

this one is sweet and has a teaish-floral quality mixed with incense. the juxtaposition of the violet and mandarin is really interesting, as the mandarin has a slight sharpness. the vanilla musk seems to temper these two notes which i think would be a bit discordant. i quite like this! it's very different than any bpal ive smelled before, yet at the same time, the scent is very familiar. there is something slightly off about this (in a good way). this may have to be a big bottle purchase.

this smells musky and resiny, and unfortunately, i detect the frankincense, which turns to pencil shavings on me :/ however, it's pretty subtle, which is good. it's warm and resiny and a tinge masculine, and i sense some sort of subtle floral, but have no idea which note is doing that. after half an hour the frankincense disappears and it smells like sweet incense. i'll have to give this one another try before i decide to keep it.

i wasnt too sure about this one, as i'm not a fan of fruity or foody scents. i got the decant and it smelled of sickly sweet bubblegum. i put it on my wrist and still got the same bubblegum, but then after a few minutes it faded a bit and i got a beautiful, soft sugary scent. i can hardly make out any notes because this is blended so well. i do think the orange peel and pepper temper the sweetness. it definitely is a sugary scent, but not all that foody. i love this and may have to get a bottle.

in the imp this smells like an orangey-tea with a slightly resinous thing going on, and it smells GOOD! unfortunately on my skin, it smells like sour, rotting orange blossoms soaked in tea. it's a shame because i love orange blossom. i think white tea, and only white, has a tendency to sour on my skin

i wasn't too sure about this one, but i am loving it more every minute. it's musky but with a slight crispness (night time air?) and i definitely sense something animalistic, but in a more passive way, not animalistic as in ferocious it reminds me quite a lot of death cap without the dirt/earthy notes actually. i think this'll have to be a big bottle purchase, if i can get my hands on one...
