this is an incensey ozone scent on my skin. it almost reminds me of the smell of rain on the sidewalk, but not quite, as this has a frankincensey vibe to it. bpals frankincense wont work with my chemistry, so ill have to swap this one. this is a very interesting scent though, dark and light at the same time.

this smells like an ambery-musky white floral with the white sandalwood underneath. i get a slight dry and woody feeling from it, perhaps it's the hyssop or immortelle? it's very well blended and a bit sophisticated. however, the lily of the valley turns sour on my skin so i think i'll be swapping this one.

ive waited so long to try this one, and i wish i hadn't. i love this!! it's the male dorian to me, even though i know dorian is considered gender neutral. it doesn't smells like dorian, but it gives me the same sort of feeling that dorian does for me as female, but in a male way. or something. but i like it on myself too. it smells a little bit foody to me- vanilla with an underlying spice, which may be the rosewood and how it's mixing with the other elements? the pine and juniper are very subtle and not overpowering at all. it's sexy but also very comforting to me.

this one is sweet and has a teaish-floral quality mixed with incense. the juxtaposition of the violet and mandarin is really interesting, as the mandarin has a slight sharpness. the vanilla musk seems to temper these two notes which i think would be a bit discordant. i quite like this! it's very different than any bpal ive smelled before, yet at the same time, the scent is very familiar. there is something slightly off about this (in a good way). this may have to be a big bottle purchase.

this smells musky and resiny, and unfortunately, i detect the frankincense, which turns to pencil shavings on me :/ however, it's pretty subtle, which is good. it's warm and resiny and a tinge masculine, and i sense some sort of subtle floral, but have no idea which note is doing that. after half an hour the frankincense disappears and it smells like sweet incense. i'll have to give this one another try before i decide to keep it.

i wasnt too sure about this one, as i'm not a fan of fruity or foody scents. i got the decant and it smelled of sickly sweet bubblegum. i put it on my wrist and still got the same bubblegum, but then after a few minutes it faded a bit and i got a beautiful, soft sugary scent. i can hardly make out any notes because this is blended so well. i do think the orange peel and pepper temper the sweetness. it definitely is a sugary scent, but not all that foody. i love this and may have to get a bottle.

in the imp this smells like an orangey-tea with a slightly resinous thing going on, and it smells GOOD! unfortunately on my skin, it smells like sour, rotting orange blossoms soaked in tea. it's a shame because i love orange blossom. i think white tea, and only white, has a tendency to sour on my skin

i wasn't too sure about this one, but i am loving it more every minute. it's musky but with a slight crispness (night time air?) and i definitely sense something animalistic, but in a more passive way, not animalistic as in ferocious it reminds me quite a lot of death cap without the dirt/earthy notes actually. i think this'll have to be a big bottle purchase, if i can get my hands on one...

this is dark and dry and resinous. i am getting a slight powdery thing, perhaps from the opoponax? this one sure is a morpher. one moment i sniff my arm and think 'eh this is ok, and too masculine.' the next 'ooh i think i might really like this!' so i dont know how i feel about it yet, and i may have to try it again. thankfully the patchouli is mellow and i am mostly getting the Opoponax, myrrh and amber. it reminds me a lot of a solid amber perfume i wore in high school, actually.

A modern incarnation of the Queen of Pentacles, or Disks, the Queen of the Thrones of Earth. Nurturing, warm and kind, she is practical, quiet and domesticated, and yet still ambitious, and possessed of the sensual lushness of Mother Earth. Soft, deep earth notes with myrrh, amber, pomegranate, dark incense, red currant, rose and vanilla. this is warm and fruity. it smells like dirt and pomegranate/currant to me, and there's a little rose and vanilla in the background. ithe dirt/earth element adds a nice touch, and in fact i think i'd like it less without the dirt note. i think i'd like it a bit more if the rose/vanilla came out more and less fruit. not sure if i will swap or keep my decant, i may have to try it again.

in the imp i get a chocolatey-rose-floral. on my skin it starts as a pungent floral and now that it's dry it smells like a rosey white floral with a slight earthiness. i dont get any chrysanthemum, and i wish i did! this one's ok but i think i'll swap it, as there are many more rose scents i like better. i iwsh the other notes came out more on my skin!

i was frimped this, it's not something i'd ever buy since i'm not a fan of either note. so yeah it smells like earthy apricots pretty much. the apricot note is stronger than the patchouli on me. and this is off to swaps for me!

i get amber, white tea and some sort of floral that i dont immediately recognize, so it must be the gladiola? i loved picking gladiolas in my grandmother's yard as a child, so they have great associations. the more it dries the more the gardenia comes out though. i like this one a lot, not an absolute favorite, but i think it'd be very pretty in the spring.

at first i get a ton of almond when wet, then once it dries i am getting a woody scent with slight cedar or frankincense? i'm not sure. i guess the woody part is the red sandalwood. i can't really make out any notes in this at all, and it's pretty unremarkable on my skin anyway. off to the swaps pile it goes.

this is a perfumy musky floral on my skin. i smell some sort of white floral in the forefront (maybe some sort of lily?) with the violet in the background. i dont think it's very masculine at all, and the more it fades into my skin the more i love it

i smell pencil shavings. this means only one of two things: cedar or frankincense. not sure which one, but it's all i can smell.

i am definitely getting the skin musk, tuberose and night phlox with a hit of carnation. not sure what osmanthus smells like, and i dont get too much iris. in a word, this scent is ethereal. very delicate and floral, though the musk does add a bit of depth. this is interesting, and i quite like it!

at first i get lavender and white musk with a soft black cherry, then it dries to a soft black cherry and white musk. i LOVE this. the only thing is, i wish it had a bit more throw.
-
at first i thought the honey was too strong, but now that the oil is dry it's just a soft, warm honey-floral. i think this will be good as a comforting, everyday scent!

mag mell is a gingery amber-citrus on me with hints of greenery, which i suppose is the grass. i think i also sense some sweet wet florals, but perhaps that's just the combination of the notes. this is a very pretty fresh scent, perfect for spring or summer.

In dramatic contrast to the soft innocence of Snow White and the dew-kissed freshness of her sister, Rose Red, this is a blood red, voluptuous rose, velvet-petaled, at the height of bloom. Haughty and imperious, vain, yet incomparably lovely to the eye, but thick with thorns of jealousy, pride and hatred. this smells like velvety dark red roses to me with a bit of a watery undertone. i think crabtree and evelyn had a similar scent that my mom had, because this smells very familiar. this reminds me a bit of tea rose but is less sweet and more watery. it's less sharp and more well rounded than rose red. i like this a lot for days when i want a pure rose scent.

this scent is truly evocative of the description. i can't decide whether i like it or not, at first i get the leather and a bit of smoky sweetness, but now that it's dry i am getting a weird fruity-candle smell, which i think is dragons blood because dragons blood hates my skin generally. i'll have to try this one once more at a later time to be totally sure how i feel about it, but right now i'm not loving it all that much dry.

this is mostly a spicy rose (from the carnation?) with amber and bergamot. thankfully i dont get too much jasmine! everything else is blended well and doesn't jump out at me. it reminds me of love in the asylum a bit, but is less spicy and more subtle. i love spicy rose scents, so this works great for me.

this smells powdery on me with a slight floral tinge. bpal's honey note often turns powdery on me though, so i kind of expected it, but figured i'd try anyway. it's just too sweet and powdery for me, so osun's off to the swaps.

i think i mostly get the orchid and currant with a greenish background. i generally like orchid and currant, but i think perhaps having them in one scent is too sweet for me. the scent is nice, i just wish it had more muskiness or incense to it, then i think it would work perfectly for me.
