i was iffy on the vetiver in this, since it can go either way, but i think it works for me in this blend! i get kind of a powdery leather from iago. perhaps the musk turns a bit powdery? and the vetiver doesn't overpower like it can. a very nice leather scent, i may get a bottle of this someday.

The Giver of Pleasure, Euterpe is the Muse of Music and Lyric Poetry. She is Delight, and her name means "Rejoicing Well". She is credited with inventing the aulos, and is most often depicted playing that double-flute. Her scent is the joy of performing, the euphoria in song, and the passion inspired by all music: carnation and white poppy, honeysuckle, lemon, iris and white musk. i really wanted to love this, since it contains carnation, lemon and white musk, all of which i love. however poppy and ylang ylang don't always do so well, and i think they overpower this one and it turns powdery.

this smells like powdery, slightly musky roses. amber doesn't always turn powdery on me, but in some cases it does. but then so do roses in some cases, so i'm not sure which is the culprit here. or if it's something else entirely. anyway, i like both amber and rose, and this scent is ok...i might wear it from time to time, but not all that often i dont think.

florals are hit and miss, some of the florals in here work well on me, others do not, but i should learn to stay away from calla lily, which my skin tends to amp. i like this one from far away, if i get a random whiff of it from my arm, but up close it makes me a bit nauseous. it smells too funereal on me and not in a good way. i think if the phlox and violet had come out more on me, i'd have liked it better.

i got this as a frimp, i normally would've avoided this one because bay rum scents tend to not do so well on me. at first i get major nuttiness and not much else. now that it's dry it's a slightly spicy, slightly woody scent, and i think mostly the clove is apparent, which i really like. this one was a pleasant surprise!

got a sniffy of this in a swap. for the first hour or two, the rose turns badly sour on my skin, which might be the pomegranate blending with it, because rose often works on me. after about 2 hours it smells kind of pretty, almost fizzy rose champagne, hard to describe. but...i dont want to have to wait 2 hours before it smells good, so i don't think i'll get anymore persephone.

this is a very sweet, tropical floral. it reminds me a lot of shampoo. i think i mostly get the grape and plumeria with a bit of bubblyness to it. this is blended so well though, that no notes stand out greatly. pretty scent, but not really my thing.

i got this as a frimp. smells like a strange floral... the closest thing i can think of is lilac, but i'm not sure that's it. there's also a bit of nuttiness and a murky musk to it. strange scent, and it's late at night, i'll have to see if it brings any good luck my way tomorrow.

nyx is all jasmine and myrrh on me, starts off with a bit of a bathroom cleaner smell. i keep trying jasmine scents, though i should know better...they are just not my thing. i had thought night-blooming jasmine was better on me, but apparently not, or maybe just in nyx. it doesn't smell bad, i'm just not a fan of jasmine. i like rose, but i don't get any rose from this at all.

smells like fruity incense, but incense in a headshop way, which isn't my thing. too much patchouli i guess? reminds me of strawberry incense sort of, even though i know it has a grape note. urd is just too hippy/earthy for my tastes.

the description is so lovely, i just had to try this. however, i vow to never get a scent with cedar again! it never fails, i smell like pencil shavings. kathmandu happens to be pencil shavings mixed with root beer. :/

i am getting smoky, musky, dried leaves. at first it was the musk was too masculine for me, ( i love musk, but this musk is just manly smelling to me...maybe it's the booze combination?) however, now that it's dried down, it's a bit better. i think maybe i'd wear this once in a great while, but not often. it's for a very specific mood.

smells like fruity wintergreen pine trees at first it's a burst of pure wintergreen, and i thought i would hate it. on the drydown though, it becomes more pleasant- mountain air with a sweetness..i guess it's all the fruits, but notes don't really stand out. this is an interesting scent but too sweet for my tastes.

this definitely has jasmine or some white floral in it. i dont get any rose...i am more a fan of rose than white florals, but this isn't so bad. it's like a musky/resiny white floral. it's hard for me to pick out any other notes. i like it quite a bit for a white floral blend! i don't think i'll get a bottle, but will keep my decant.

this smells so familiar, i feel like i've worn a scent like this before in the past. it's a beautiful musky floral, and a bit perfumy, but in a good way. i think my skin displays the magnolia, blood orange, tobacco flower and white musk up front. somethign about it reminds me of stardust, it has a similar feel to me, but is a little warmer than that scent. definitely getting a big bottle of this

i like a lot of citrus scents, but this one just isn't doing it for me. it's very crisp and fresh, but i don't generally like that sort of thing. kinda reminds me of hairspray or some kind of zingy detergent. off to the swap pile.

ooh i like this a lot. i love coconut, and when i first put this on it's all sweet-lemony coconut, if not a little too sweet. once it dries a bit, the smoke and musk comes out and i now i absolutely love it. i don't get any tuberose at all, which is strange because i think my skin generally amps it, so this must have very little in it. must add it to the big bottle list!

ooh at first this doesn't smell all that great on me, grapefruit with a weird old-herby smell, which may be the white tea or apple blossom? but now that it's been an hour it smells beautiful warm and the ginger has come out more. i get a grapefruit-white musk feeling. very clean and summery.
-
i get a sugary-sweet lemon floral from this. i can't seem to pick out notes but it's definitely a fizzy lemon scent with a floral backdrop. i like it quite a bit!

this smells just like freshly turned earth, and i do get a mushroomy feel from it. it smells like dug up dirt to me with a hint of herbal-sweetness and incense. it's beautiful in a really weird way. it reminds me of big sur for some reason, incense, a slight scent of perfume and fresh earth. this is earthy but not in a hippie-ish way, so i actually like it. i will keep my imp for sure.
-
this smells very green with a touch of golden light and earth, but not in the 'dirt' sense. it's calming and pretty and smells a bit grassy too. it's reminding me of something else that i cannot quite place right now. at the beginning wet stage, i thoughti sensed something aquatic, but i am not getting that anymore. it does smell very cologne-y at first though.
-
hm this is interesting...i'm not even sure how i feel about it. it's warm and smoky and a bit earthy. it smells dark and really familiar to me. i can't really pick out scents, but this is the second scent containing vetiver to work on me, in a week! all previous scents i tried with it, (which wasn't many admittedly) did not do well at all.

honey and ylang ylang tend to not be my favorite scents, but i thought perhaps mixed with musks and laudanum i'd fare better. i suppose i did, because this IS a pretty scent, but i think the honey ruins it for me. bpal's honey note often turns to a strange straw-like musty scent on me, and it's doing that in this blend. luckily the ylang ylang isn't too strong. in fact my skin eats most of the scent up and leaves a linger of honey behind.
-
this smells warm and golden, like an incense stick. i think i am getting mostly myrrh and herbs, with the myrrh being most strong. it smells pretty much like generic incense with my skin chemistry. nice enough i guess, but not really me.

at first this started off smelling like b.o. and shampoo...not sure what notes were doing that! now that it's faded a bit it's a sweet berry-floral with a soft almost powdery undertone. it smells kind of good, but i'm not sure it's my type of scent. i don't get lavender from this at all either.
