i wasn't sure about this one, as florals are often good to me but not always. this smells very green, wet and earthy, but earthy in the sense of dirt and moss. i smell white flowers...maybe magnolia or gardenia? that's just a guess, though, i can't seem to place the florals. i am surprised that i like this one as much as i do!

i get a sweet, fruity red scent with woods. this reminds me a lot of hell's belle, except it's not spicy. hell's belle is very spicy on me, and i prefer the spice to this as it tempers some of the sweetness. lampades is just too earthy-sweet on me.

i am a carnation fiend, and i personally think the most carnation-y scents are alice and maiden, though maiden's rose note is a bit more prominent on me. carnivale was overpowered by berries, maenad by fruits. i love brisingamen but didn't realize it had carnation, so i'll have to re-try it. i also love the bow and crown of conquest- i get leather, musk and carnation from it mostly. it's so good, but the leather does put a different twist on the carnation. i am dying to try the carnation single note, but i have never even seen anyone with it.

i got a sniffie of this from someone with just enough to test it once or twice. to me this is a very clean scent...more oceanic than cold or snowy, yet not aquatic. i smell a soft herbal-musk, and something slightly crisp. this reminds me of something, but i can't put my finger on it. very nice and clean and refreshing but it doesn't go wonky on me like aquatics do. even though it's not aquatic, it's very blue. that's the only way i can think of to describe it.

someone sent me this as a frimp, and it was on my wishlist, still i was a bit wary of so much.....berry. but i thought i might get more wine like in bordello. this reminds me of bordello without the wonderful vanilla and wine. i just get berry berry berry. it's very sweet and fruity and i can't smell the wine or thyme at all. not a bad scent at all, just too sweet for me personally.

hm, in the imp this smells crisp and a little masculine, lemony with a herbal sharpness in the background. on my skin however, it doesn't smell masculine at all, and actually a bit perfumy. in the beginning i strongly smell the white musk, verbena, plum and fig. as it fades the lavender and coconut comes out more with the white musk, and the fruity notes settle down a bit (which i like.) as for the vetiver, i'm not sure. i tend to avoid it, and in other scents it's been kind of overpowering, but i don't think i smell it at all in this. i don't think i'd buy a bottle of this but it is a nice, sweet, crisp scent and i will keep my decant.

Bright, intoxicating, hectic notes masking a twisted, corrupted core: sweet wild berry, spicy carnation and heliotrope layered over deep amber and musk. i got this basically because it has carnation in it and i <3 carnation. i was wary of the berries, as i well should be, as they are hit or miss on me depending on the blend. carnivale is pretty much a miss. it doesn't smell horrible on me, but not that great either. at first it is musty berry-musk with baby powder added. an hour later it smells like cheap berry candles.

i can't seem to pick out any notes in this. i get a kind of sweet herbal-floral, with a sharp musk and a slightly underlying pencil-shaving scent that i get from frankincense. it burns my nostrils. this one doesn't seem to work with my skin chemistry at all...i wish i could pick out some of the notes. i'll have to try it again at a later date and see if anything changes.

i really wanted to try the hermit becaue it's a card i closely identify with, even though the reviews sounded iffy. i can't tell what notes are in here at all. it smells fruity, but not too sweet, with an herbal-ness to it and maybe a teeny bit of spice. it smells closest to grapes, and very familiar, but i still can't place it. an hour later it smells similar to white wine you spilled on a tablecloth and let sit for a day or two. not for me.

when i initially saw this description, i had no interest in it, then i read some reviews on here and thought it might be right up my alley. at first it's a beautiful warm musk with leather, both notes i love. then, the cedar comes forth and drowns out everything else. cedar smells like pencil shavings on me, not unlike frankincense, and it gives me a headache, and now after about an hour of wearing, all i can smell is strong, strong cedar and all the leather is gone

first off, i must say that this scent really evokes the artwork, the color especially. something in this reminds me of the haunted palace, as someone else said. also a little of stardust i think. it's a soft floral with a tinge of spice and darkness added, and the mandarin is definitely apparent, but it's not strong. the florals are really well blended, as it's very difficult for me to pick out any of them. there is a sense of them being there, but i can't really smell a separate rose, orchid or carnation. i really like this one-it's subtle but sophisticated. on my skin the mandarin and vanilla flower with florals seem most apparent. all in all i really like this, and i am glad i bought a bottle. my only wish is that it had a little bit more throw.

i had some fear of the calla lily and honey in this, but figured i'd try it anyway. in the bottle it smells like a crisp, white floral-i definitely get a 'bride' feeling from it. however, on my skin it makes me sneeze and unfortunately i am getting a wilting-sour-floral scent from this, like that point when flowers start to turn. i think it's the osmanthus or calla lily, which my skin seems to have amped to the nth degree. i am so sad, i was really really hoping this would work on me.

i avoided this one for the pine element for so long, but the lab frimped me some in a recent order. however, i was pleasantly surprised by this! for one thing, it smells much better on my skin than in the imp. it's a sweet sugary pine, not sharp at all, i think the orange rounds it out nicely.

i got this as a frimp from the lab. at first it smells EXACTLY like a page in a scratch n' sniff book i had as a child-there was one page where there was a bouquet of dark pink flowers, and it smells exactly like those flowers. i wish i could remember what book it was now! i'm not sure what palmarosa smells like, but i think perhaps that and the sandalwood are dominating. it's a strange sort of sweet floral similar to orchid, with a touch of rose and the sandalwood mixed in. it reminds me quite a bit of another bpal i've tried but i can't remember which one it is. i often like rose scents, but this one doesn't really work for me.

got this as a frimp from the lab. at first it smelled just like damp soil with a bit of sharp greenery maybe? now a few hours later it has morphed into a completely different scent, that's kind of a sweet and dry scent with a sort of musky undertone, or close to musk...i can't quite place what it is, but it smells very familair. i am pleasantly surprised by this one!

i tried this from a friend who had it, and i was surprised by how much i liked it! i don;t get all those notes though, i really only think the grapefruit and red currant come out (maybe the chamomile). i dont get the dark musk at all, but i'd love it if i did. it was a light, clear grapefruit scent mostly. very pretty, fresh and summery with a little sweetness.

i sort of knew i would either really love or really hate this one. i can't pick out the florals in this, but it's a soft, bright floral that comes through the main aquatic note. i think the 'salty' part does not work with my skin chemistry. the aquatic gets a strong bitter edge to it on my skin that is nearly nauseating. now that it's faded it smells soft and clean and kind of pretty, but it's too aquatic for my tastes and the bitter note at the beginning isn't worth it for me. this one will go to swaps.

i love neroli and orange blossom, so i figured this'd be right up my alley. i find bpal's orange blossom to be sweeter than most i've tried, but still nice. this scent starts off very citrussy- all orange blossom and neroli, then it fades and becomes very powdery, almost how violet can do, but there's none in this blend. so i am not sure what's doing it here. after awhile the powder dies down and it's a soft, beautiful orange blossom scent. i wish it had a bit more throw, but other than that i really like it.

like others have said, this reminds me of the show LOST, smelling it while reading the description, anyway. it's heady, damp flowers with musk and a touch of smoke. it's tropical but not in a cloying, fruity way, and reminds me of dark green, more like an island at night. very pretty.

out of all the new catalogue scents that had come out a couple months ago, this was the one i was most excited about. all my skin seems to emit is the white tea, lemon peel and orchid (mostly). i get NO leather from this, and i think if i had i would've loved this more than i do. it's a mostly orchid scent on me, and i like orchid so i do like this, but it's sweeter and more perfumy than i had hoped. i will keep the imp, i am just not sure about a bottle.

i am in love with this one- there is a soft, warm vanilla. the musk and the delicate white sandalwood blend perfectly with the vanilla. i can't really smell the lily or sea moss at all, and am not sure about the other notes. all i know is this is gorgeous and warm. trying again 18 years later, thanks to a frimp: i get a lot of lily, orris, ambergris and sea moss this time along with vanilla. it's like a vanilla aquatic. pretty but, too aquatic for me.

The Native American Creator / Trickster God of Chaos and Change. The warmth of doeskin, dry plains grasses and soft, dusty woods warmed by amber and a downy, gentle coat of deep musk. oh man, this is so evocative. i don't know why or what, but it just IS. it's warm and a bit sweet and i can smell musk and amber and something sweet with a slight spice that reminds me of dragon's blood, but doesn't seem to actually be dragon's blood, because that is a note that does not work on me. this scent smells so soft to me, but in a tactile way, not soft in a scented way. it's very lovely!

i got this as a frimp from someone, and initially would've avoided it because of the frankincense and jasmine, which usually turn bad on me, but in here they're pretty ok. i definitely smell the moonflower and blackcurrant and maybe the sandalwood, as this has a slight woody quality to it. prettier than i thought it would be with my skin chemistry, but this is still a bit too sweet of a floral for me.

...Beauty, joy, pleasure and delight: devastated. This is the scent of the hopelessness, torment and despair of love. Lavender and wisteria, heart-wrenching pale rose, desolate white sandalwood and thin, tear-streaked white musk. this is very pretty and blended very well. a dry floral with a soft musk base. mostly wisteria, white musk and white sandalwood. This is light and vintage smelling. It’s comforting to wear to bed

this is simple, crisp and summery. very light and fresh, it's definitely white tea and ginger, but the ginger is very subtle, and i thought i smelled citrus, but maybe that's just the white tea. very light and pretty, seems like it'd be perfect for spring or summer.
