scherezade is nicely warm and spicy on me, with something else i can't detect. must be the saffron. i know i've smelled it before, but can't really remember what it smells like. i like this, i just don't love it. i like a little floral with my spices. but if someone had this on, i would think it was a nice smell, just not me.

this is a nice scent and very refreshing for warm weather, but my skin seems to bring out the lemon far too much. so all i really smell is strong, acidic lemon over slight green tea. it gave me a headache, it was so strong on me. i washed some of it off and then was left with a softer green tea scent, and liked it a lot better.

when i read the scent description, i knew this was right up my alley. i LOVE this scent. at first i strongly smell the bulgar rose and candles. i dont really know the exact definition of bulgar rose but it's just not plain ol' roses. as it mellows the carnation comes out more and it warms into a nice floral-oriental or spicy floral, which is my favorite kind of scent. this is very sexy and warm to me. i couldn't stop smelling myself last night. though i have that reaction to many bpal scents.... love it so much!

i'm not sure if i am smelling the crushed jungle blooms or the sweet orange- but i get a warm, sweet smell. it's heavenly! and faint incense in the background. i did think of desert or jungle flowers when i put this on. i guess because it makes me think of the sun. it also smells really familiar, but i don't know why.

normally, if i'd read the description, i'd have steered clear of vice. i do not like to smell like chocolate. at all. but someone sent it to me as a freebie in a swap. and OMG i love it. but it doesnt smell like chocolate to me. it starts off as an herbal vanilla, then settles down into a warm creamy smell with cherry in the far background. i love this

i loooove the living flame. it smells sexy! kind of like a vanilla-y floral with a touch of spice that i cannot place. as someone else mentioned, it does kind of remind me of commercial perfume to a degree, but i still like it gotta track down a bottle of this.

wolfsbane smells like an herbal, green, woody, peppery rose to me. it does remind me of being in the woods. it's a weird scent, but strangely enough i like it. not something i would wear everyday, but once in awhile.

gluttony is NOT my kind of scent. i got it as a frimp with my last order. i sniffed the imp once and had no desire to even try it on. i got a strong butterscotch/coffee smell. i guess i don't enjoy smelling like baked goods.

...A gossamer scent, as light as a spider’s footfall, touched with sighing mists: pallid flowers, dusty woods and soft herbs. i got arachne as a frimp with my last order. i had to try it twice before i could decide if i liked it or not. at first i really liked it- it's not offensive or overpowering, sort of a soft floral but with a sweet bite to it. the second time i tried it, i still liked it, but realized that it's not a "me" scent. and got a tinge of 'old lady perfume' feeling when i sniffed it the second time. i like stuffy victorian florals or spicy florals, and this one is just too sweet for me.

i was at an friend's house and sniffed her bottle of this, and then decided i needed to get an imp. the 'skin' note is wonderful in this for me. it's interesting that everyone makes comparisons to o, because i really did not like o (it smelled like hay dipped in honey on me), nor did i find it sexy, but la petite mort is definitely sexy. it smells like a very very subtle floral mixed with skin and pepper to me. i like it- definitely keeping my imp, and maybe a big bottle in the future.

snake oil smells warm, spicy and powdery on me. it reminds me of this amber musk oil i had in high school, but more complex. it has a very incensy smell that i like. i like spicy scents, and i like snake oil a lot, but i like my spiciness a little more floral or firey. i'll keep the imp though- it is a really nice scent. ETA: i tried snake oil several times at later dates after writing this original review and i found it to be pretty baby powdery on me. however, it's 2014 and i am trying some aged snake oil from january 07 and i am digging it. it's a bit strong, i seem to amp something to 11 in this so i get a bit of a headache, but it's definitely not bad and not as baby powdery as i recall. i guess i should just use it sparingly.

i like the spiciness, but the scent of dragon's blood continues to turn my stomach and give me a headache, regardless of what other notes are involved. off to the swap pile with ye, wrath!

Spices of the Orient mingle with crystalline musk, midnight flowers and cereus, jasmine, primrose and vesper iris. smells like a warm floral oriental. a lot of times jasmine is overwhelming on me, but the musk reigns it in a bit here. there is some thing underlying that doesnt mix all that well with my skin and brings up a musty smell. i think it's the iris. this one is ok, but doesnt wow me as much as some of the other floral-orientals i've tried.

this is sweet but smokey. and i like boozy smells. it kind of smells like burnt maraschino cherries- which i believe another scent smelled like on me. there is definitely a deep, burning, warm smell to this. its not my typical scent, but it's kind of nice- maybe something nice to wear in winter.

i think the bay rum is coming out mostly on me- i cant smell the tropical blossoms, AND its giving me a headache. i usually love scents with tobacco, and i thought i might even like the bay run, but i guess it doesnt like me! it's also a bit too masculine for my tastes.

roses are hit and miss, and this is a miss for me. it smells like roses and dirt, but not in the good way like zombi does. more like roses and stale dirt. it kind of turns my stomach when i smell it on my skin. i suppose some spice in there is not sitting well with my skin chemistry. off to the swap pile!

at first this was WAY too violet-y, and i like violets. but after it faded a bit, the vanilla came through. reminded me of what violet cake might smell like. if it existed (maybe it does?) but not strong like the violet candy. then after it wore off even more, it started to remind me of black pearl, which is one of my favorites so far. on me it smelled like a more violet-powdery version of black pearl. i thought this was strange because neither of these contain any of the same notes. i might have to get a big bottle of this one! once i decide if i like this one or black pearl better.

this was a weird one. when i first put it on my skin, i didnt like it at all. after it faded some it smelled like floral musky skin scent. just smelled like someone's skin who had worn something floral that had faded. if that makes any sense. i attribute the skin scent to the musk, but i am not sure. after it faded i decided i liked it. i cant even pick which scents came out though- i didnt smell the violet much, so i think maybe my skin picked up more of the iris. ill keep the imp but probably wont buy any bottles of this.

i should have learned to stay away from apricot scents. siren is no exception- i smell basically apricot and something else- i think it's the ginger. but the strongest smell is apricot. and while i think apricots are tasty, i dont like to smell like them. not that this is a bad scent, just not me. back the imp swap pile!

this is the second scent i've tried with dragon's blood in it, and i just don't think its for me. i can see how someone would like this- it smells sweet, kind of like maraschino cherries. this is way too sweet for me- it makes me kind of nauseous when i smell it. that could be the honey though, as i tend to like vanilla. probably a combination of honey + dragon's blood, neither of which i like on me. oh well. i really wanted to like this one
-
this was my first brush with dragon's blood. i thought i had smelled it before, but wasn't sure. now i know i have. this reminds me of stores i went into that sold oils and incense. i have tried other wine/rose combinations- some work, some don't. with blood rose, wine is the faintest, and i mostly smell the dragon's blood and rose. it smells like burnt cherries and roses to me, which really isn't my thing. however, this doesn't stop me from wanting to try other dragon's blood scents.

i got this as a freebie from the lab, so it's not something i would usually order at all. i think all i am smelling is the honeysuckle and jasmine. i can't detect the lavender at all. it's very soapy/commercial perfumey like others have said. at first it's very strong and sharp, and causes me to wrinkle my nose. it fades a bit, but is still too strong and floral for my tastes. i do like florals...but more of the violet and rose variety, so this scent is just not me and is off to swap.

love in the asylum is my first LE bottle purchase, so i was very excited to open it! when first applied this smells very rosy. it kind of reminds me of a tea rose i once tried, but as it dries the tonka/carnation/vanilla comes through and turns into a bit of a spicy rose. it also smells familiar, somehow- it reminds me of gaultier perfume, but obviously not as strong or alcohol-y, and more rosy. i think the similarity lies in the florals mixed with tonka/vanilla/spiciness. i really love this scent- it's warm and sexy.

i have been searching for earthy scents that might do well on me. maybe i should just stay away from them though! i'm not sure what exactly i am smelling in the caterpillar- i think it's mostly patchouli, vetiver, and carnation. i am not a big fan of patchouli or veviter, but i thought all those other notes might balance the scent out for me. i really wanted to like this one, as the name 'the caterpillar' is so endearing...maybe because i think of the cure song, but it's just not my kind of scent/doesnt do well with my skin chemistry.

when i first put this on i didnt like it- the cocoa/chocolate scent was very strong and was too foody for me personally. later on, it still smelled slightly foody, but more spicy and 'exotic'. i can also see the 'scent reminiscent of blood' and it smells good- a slight metallic edge. i've never quite smelled anything like it. it's not really for me, but i do like it and will keep the imp and wear it from time to time.
