This is kind of a cool scent. It's too cologne-y for me to wear, but I like to sniff it every now and again. Maybe I'll hand this one over to my bf.

Now THIS is what a sexy oriental should smell like. I don't wear this one because it's too spicy for me, but my best friend loves this and I love it on her. It smells heavenly on the right person. A mindblowingly hot, womanly scent. This is everything I expected Snake Oil to smell like, but compared to Bien Loin D'Ici, Snake Oil smells overdone and bitter.

This smells like a cheap hooker. I don't know how else to describe it, but the smell makes me sick. It's that damn plum note again... Plum AND booze in the same blend does not make my skin happy. It turns into cherry cough syrup on me.

Whoa. This certainly does smell like Hellfire. It's an unpleasant, evil fire scent. Smells like a forest fire or something-- there's a heavy dose of anguish in the scent. It's definitely not a pleasant fire scent, like a bonfire or a campfire. It's bitter.

UGH! It's another insanely sweet blend with a backdrop of musk and spice. Why are there so many of these? And why did BPAL trick me into ordering this with no scent description. This is vile.

This smelled nothing like the scent description on me-- just a bright, white floral that went sour on my skin.

This is delicious. Astringent herbals tamed by robust florals and sweet grape. On me, it's mostly full-bodied rose, fresh lemon peel, and sugary grape, with a breath of rosemary. I *always* get compliments when I wear this. It's just lovely. Definitely a big-bottle scent. I also love this scent because I feel such an affinity for the red-haired queen. I admire her so much, and I'm glad I can smell like her!

This comes out as almost entirely mint, with a backdrop of sickeningly sweet vanilla sugar cookie. Normally, I love foody scents, but when BPAL means sweet, they mean SWEET. There is just something about BPAL's very sweet scents that when, combined with my skin, smell flat and unsophisticated. I was so fed up with this bottle I threw it out! (should've swapped it. D'oh!)

I have to be REALLY careful whenever I purchase any BPAL blend that has strong plum, cherry, or SUGAR notes. They all tend to turn ridiculously sweet, in a bad way. Like, scratch-n-sniff sticker. This smelled like that, only amplified by 100x by the strong booze notes, which are enhanced by my skin. Yuccccckmo.

Maybe I just have weird skin, but I've found this to be one of the few blends that actually works for me. I *always* get compliments when I wear this. It's a very, very sexy perfume, great for autumn and winter, especially. It's a very textured, layered scent. I imagine soft wools and glossy silks when I wear this.

This is a lovely blend. The orchid really jumps out on me, and with dry-down there is more sandalwood. This one is a keeper... but I don't know if I love it enough to purchase a 5mL bottle. **EDIT** I've changed my mind. I've bonded with this scent a little more and it's now one of my favorites. Then again, that's not hard to accomplish since I don't even have a top 5 yet.

Unlike everyone else, I did not find this perfume to be too sweet. If anything, it was DUSTY. and DRY. After dry-down, it smelled very strongly of burnt cloves and very dry red wine. Kind of like how I used to smell after a crowded party during my freshman year. At one time, this might have been an appealing scent to me, but my debauchery days are long since over.

There is something so... old-world about this scent. It seems so dreamy and far away, though not at all what I imagine Rome must smell like. I don't know what I expected, but this is such an unusual scent. At first it's all dark, smoky greenery and then it fades to a powdery rose with a green backdrop. I don't necessarily *like* it on me, but this would be heartbreakingly sexy on a man.

BPAL strawberries don't work well with me-- it tends to turn into a kind of sickeningly sweet, strawberry marker kind of smell. Not very pleasant. On me, Bordello's all overripe, sugary strawberry with the faintest hint of spices. Too faint to really make the scent more than one-note perfume on me, and I don't want to smell like fake strawberry.

This scent is one of the most straightforward scents from Black Phoenix, and I've tried a bunch. It's pure white tea and ginger-- crisp, fresh, summery, and lovely. This is definitely a big-bottle scent for me. My one complaint is that it doesn't last very long on me and the throw isn't that great. You have to get really close to the skin to smell it since it's such a subtle scent.

This was my first BPAL perfume, along with a bottle of Spooky. However, I found myself disappointed with both. At first Snake Oil smelled nice. But then, all hints of the soft, sweet vanilla disappeared and I was left smelling like an ash tray... maybe an ash tray filled with the remnants of Djarum Blacks. It was NOT sexy. I just smelled... dirty. Yuck. I actually don't like Snake Oil on anyone I know who's worn it. I think it's stinky and cloying. Why the heck is this one so popular?

This scent smells a LOT like sickly sweet champagne-- or maybe just sparkling juice-- with overripe strawberries and sugar. It smells that way in the bottle, wet, dry, and even as it fades it just smells like cheap champagne with LOADS of sugar added. I'm thinking Andre Strawberry, that $5 sparkling wine that tastes like strawberries. It's kind of a cute perfume, great for people who are afraid of more sophisticated scents, but you'd have to be 15 to pull this off without seeming delusional and tasteless. Overall, not one of my favorites. If the champagne were more alcoholic, maybe it would work better.
