'07 Blend Got this as a decant in my Santa package; thanks again, moonjelly! In the decant, I'm getting florals of some kind, not quite sure what. On my skin, it's pretty much the same; some kind of vague florals, maybe some incense, not much beyond that. We'll see if this turns at all.

Got this as a BPAL Santa gift from moonjelly on LJ; thanks again! In the decant, this smells like vanilla, saffron, and cream. Pretty straight forward, no? On my skin, it's a faint vanilla saffron, maybe a bit of the cream smoothing it all out. We'll see what this does on the drydown. ..And it fades away to almost nothing pretty quickly, sadly. Well, at least I know there's a chance of this being better on someone else. Swaps/sales.

In the imp, I get spicy honey cakes. Oh, this is going to be good. On my skin, it's still spicy honey cakes, and wine added underneath. Oh my. I'm thinking this may be a bottle, barring any horrible twists.

In the frimp, I'm getting lavender and sandalwood. Something tells me this isn't going to work well. On my skin, I get a faint floral for about five seconds before going to nothing. Stupid lavender. Swaps/sale.

Got this as an unexpected return package for BPAL Santaing someone. In the decant, this smells like orange blossom and blackberry, with a hint of mint lurking in there somewhere. On my skin, the blackberry seems to be amping, with the orange blossom underneath, and maybe a kick of mint in there? No sandalwood so far, which is good. We'll see how this goes. Ends up being way too blackberry on me, borderline boozy. Swaps/sales.

Got sent this by ifinena as a BPAL Santa package; thanks again! In the decant, I definitely get orange blossom and amber. Eager to see what comes out on my skin. Once on, at this point, it's pretty much the same; orange blossom, amber, maybe a little vanilla in there. We'll see how this goes. Ends up fading quickly, not that appealing of a scent on my skin. Ah well. Was definitely worth trying it. Swaps/sales.

Got this as a free decant in a BPAL Santa package from fairynymph; thanks again! In the decant, I'm getting pretty all of my death notes. This is probably not going to turn out well. ...And on my skin it's pretty much dirt and herbs. Sadly, not for me. Swaps/sales.

Got this as a decant with my Santa package from fairynymph; thanks again! In the decant, I get orange, and wood. On my skin, the myrrh, patchouli, and wood all amp with an orange wood polish undernote for a world of no on me. Stupid death notes. Swaps/sales.

This was passed onto me as a tester by fairynymph with the recommendation that its similar to Candy Butcher. Eager to test this out. In the decant, I recognize the cocoa note from El Dia de los Reyes, but there's something smoother, creamier about it. ...I may have to start praying that this goes desperately wrong, cause this may be a DISO. And oh dear god, this is amazing on me. Damnit. DISO, AWAY!

Got this as a tester from a wonderful fairynymph; thanks so much again! In the tester, I wasn't really sure what I was getting. On my skin, it's a fruity ambery honey muskish sort of scent. Hmm. This is a nice enough scent, but not anything I really need to track down more of, I think. Plus, there's probably somebody out there who wants to test this really bad.

Got this as a decant in a BPAL Santa package; thanks, LJer who sent me Milk Chocolate Buttercream! In the decant, this smells like licorice, vetiver, and teak, none of the other notes at all. On my skin, it's pretty much those same three notes. We'll see if the rest of the blend comes out to play. Nope. The wood/vetiver/licorice combo dominates. Swaps/sales.

In the frimp, I get a dragon's blood/cherry note, with a really sweet kick to it. I'm thinking I may like this. On my skin, it's pretty much the same, with the sweeter lotus amping a bit. Hmm. This may be bottle material. And there's red musk in here, too. Definite bottle buy.

Got this as part of a BPAL Santa package; thanks again, wonderful LJer! In the decant, this smells like chocolate frosting. Mmmm. And it's the same on my skin. Oh my. This may be a bottle, straight off the bat. This just keeps on getting even more creamy and chocolately as it dries, so yeah, this is definitely going to the DISOs. (If there's a Box of Chocolates for this year's Lupercalia, I may be doomed.)

Champagne and roses. Got this as a BPAL Santa from whome; thanks so much! In the decant, this is a little frightening; it's either cherry Pepsi or ammonia. oO Only doing a small skin test with this one, as it's a little frightening. It's calming down a little on my skin, but I'm still getting that ammonia/cherry Pepsi smell. We'll see how this goes. It ends up straying towards ammonia, so I had to wash it off multiple times. Not for me, sadly. Swaps/sales.

In the imp, this is what I'm going to bet is orchid, a really dusky, sweet flower. And it's pretty much exactly the same on my skin. I'm liking this on the back of my thumb, but I think I'm going to give it the both wrists test too, just to see if I like it enough to order a bottle. Suspecting I might be.

Here's my slightly odd suggestion: If you have soap in it with a note that you know takes everything to dead nothing on your skin (say, for me, lavender), rub it on, and wash. Almost nothing survives those sort of death notes in my experience.

Got to try this thanks to Santa EmpressPixie, who actually spilled her bottle while decanting this tester (I'm so sorry again for indirectly causing this!), again, many awesome Santa thanks! In the bottle, this smells like mint and apples, with maybe some skin musk? On my skin, there's definitely those mint apples, with a note that may or may not be skin musk. Either that, or a floral of some kind. Hmm. And unfortunately, it fades quickly into this soapy scent. Glad to have tried it, but won't need more, I think.

In the frimp, this is straight up apricot and BRANDY. On my skin, it's pretty much the same. We'll see how this goes. The apricot and brandy combine in a way that is just world of no on me. Swaps/sales.
-
In the frimp, I'm getting what I think is the orchid, the white musk, and the bergamont; no patchouli or juniper. On my skin, the Faerie King seems to be made of a rapidly fading white musk and a vague orchid. Hmm. His Majesty is mostly white musk and bergamont. Nothing I'm too big of a fan of; swaps/sales.

In the bottle, I'm getting a scent that's similar to El Dia de los Reyes; dark creamy chocolate, maybe some of the incense in there? On my skin, the chocolate quickly fades away and I'm getting what I'm pretty sure is the black incense and some musk, maybe a bit of chocolate lurking in the background. No, that's wood. Erm. Hoping this stage passes. It eventaully fades to wood/incense, and then to fruit/incense a few hours later. The last stage is lovely, but it takes forever to get there, and the stages in between are full of death notes for me. There's going to be someone who can love this far better than I can; swaps/sales.

Got this as a decant as part of a PIF package from Dark Alice; thanks so much again! In the decant, it feels like I'm not really getting a scent at all. On my skin, it's a really faint, clean scent. We'll see if there's more of a scent on the drydown here. It ends up being a really powdery scent on me. Not really working the greatest on me, but there's bound to be someone else who's interested.

Got this as a decant as part of a PIF package from Dark Alice; thanks again! In the decant, I'm getting the leather, some kind of booze which I assume is the cognac, and the berry and maybe the cream. Wondering how this'll act on my skin. Ooooh. On my skin, I'm definitely getting the cognac, fig and berry at first, with the leather and cream lurking underneath. Depending on what this does, this may be a bottle scent. It ends up being too much of a berry/fig/booze scent, with just a hint of leather underneath, and is the first blend to have given me a headache. It's just very overwhelming, and not working for me. Not going to be looking for more, sadly. But someone else is bound to love this.

Got this as a tester as part of a PIF package from Dark Alice. Thanks again! In the decant, this smells like Snake Oil, but with a blast of sugar and really heavy on the spices, with incense, too. We'll see how this goes. On my skin, this is Snake Oil with more sugar and a little cinnamon(?) at first, but with some resins starting to come out. We'll see how the drydown goes. Ends up drying down as an incense with a kick of sugar, and smells vaguely like cigarette smoke. Not for me, sadly.

I got a tester of this as part of a PIF package from Dark Alice. Thanks again! In the decant, I'm getting what smells like the mahogany and the patchouli/frankincense. No sign of fruit anywhere. On my skin, I'm not quite sure what I'm getting. Wood, and spice, with some fruits trying to fight their way forward. Hmm. We'll see how this goes. The fruits come out later in the drydown, and they're really sharp. The combination just doesn't work well on me, sadly. Ah, well; someone else is bound to like it.

'07 Blend In the bottle, this smells like spicy gingerbread. I can't wait to see how this goes on my skin. Stays as wonderfully spicy gingerbread. I likes.
