Got this as an frimp in the order that arrived today, and trying this out now that Summer's Last Will + Testament doesn't appear to be working. In the bottle, I get a really tangy scent, mellowed out by an undertone of baby powder. Wet on my skin, I get a baby powderish sort of scent, with what I think is honey underneath. EDIT: This has dried out to a baby powderish sort of scent with honey mixed in. This seems more like a summerish scent to me, would probably work more on an incredibly humid day. Probably not going to wear it on a regular basis, will keep the imp, but no bottle here. EDIT EDIT: I lied. It's grown on me; need bottle.

Out of the bottle this smells like that lemonish-cleaning stuff that you use to polish wood. ...Which is called wood polish. *facedesk* It's the same on my skin, wet; VERY strong citrus, borderline citrus cleaning scent. I've had it on for about a half hour now, and it's gotten a bit less strong and softened out, which I think is the amber coming in, but the citrus is still the dominant note. I'll check back in a few hours, but I don't know if I'll be keeping this scent. EDIT: It's definitely softened out, and I'm pretty sure that's the amber, but there's still this tinge of citrus that just isn't doing it for me. I think this one is going into the swap pile.

Yeah, apologies for the fail. Good to know. Thanks. -
Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?
Venneh replied to Snow White's topic in BPAL FAQs
Okay, so, question I don't know is appropriate here, but I think this fits. I placed an order back on August 27th. According to my order information on CCNow, the order shipped on August 31st. I never got a CnS on the order (and I've ordered before wtih this email, so I know it works, and I got the order info from CCNow at this address) and it's now... September 14th, with no sign of the order showing up at the campus mailboxes. (Admittedly, I live in WI, and I forget how long it took the last one to show up.) Should I wait a few more days before emailing the Lab and seeing if I can get a tracking number for the order, or should I do it now? EDIT: Aaand I just read a few posts above mine. *facedesk* Is it safe to bet that my order's not actually been sent yet, in that case? -
I've worn this a fair bit, and almost every time, I've gotten compliments on the scent. I can't really explain what it smells like, except for bright florals and this darker tone as it dries, and dries down to a floral, powdery sort of smell, as I'm not nearly as experienced all the rest of you in this. The best way I can explain it is that it smells like my mom, or at least the perfume that she uses, which I like quite a bit. Just ordered a 5ml, will try to post a better review. ADDED Sept. 22: Wearing this for the first time out of the bottle, and not an imp. In the bottle, I get a sweet floral, with what might be the peach, a bit of amber, and just a hint of darkness underneath, which might be the vetiver? Not sure. But once on my skin, I get the sweetness of the florals and amber, and a bit after application, that darkness comes out. EDIT: It fades down to a really sweet floral with what I think is peach and the powdery softness of amber on me, and the vetiver/galbanum (no clue what those smell like just yet). It faded really quickly, so I don't think I applied a lot. Reapplying it. This is one of my favorite scents, and has been ever since I got it in my first order as a frimp with Mad Sweeney.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
Venneh replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
The codiene reaction we know for sure, from a reaction in preschool with medications after my tonsillectomy. Fun times. Good point on asking the doc about complete opiate allergic reaction, will ask that the next time I'm in. And thanks for answering this slightly bizzare question. Yayz! I'm safe! -
Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Hm. In the category of odd reactions, I have allergies to codiene. My parents and I have theorized that this reaction might apply to any opiates; however, this is only when ingested, as far as we know, as I haven't gone rolling in codiene. Would any of the perfume blends have opiates in them and, if so, do you think there would be an allergic reaction if I applied them to my skin? (I don't exactly plan on ingesting the perfumes, just for the record. ) -
This was a really tangy scent on me, which I'm betting was the dragon's blood, when wet and first on the drydown. In the first hour or so, one of my sisters, who was maybe a half foot away from me at the time, asked what scent I was wearing, because she felt it smelled really good on me, so, it's fairly strong at first. Right now, I've had it on for about... seven hours, and it's mellowed out to a sweeter scent, I think a cherryish sort of scent, with maybe a hint of myrrh. It's not my favorite scent, won't be buying more than the imp I got with Sweeney free, but it's worth a wear here and there for me. ADDED Sept. 6: Silly, additional warning with this scent. Do NOT wear Blood anywhere near mosquito-infested areas; we have a lot at my work, and I've been wearing this the last few days, and I've noticed a pretty exponential increase in bites than when I've worn, say, Mad Sweeney or Marquise. They like this scent, clearly.

This was the first bottle that I ever bought from BPAL, and it ends up smelling a bit like cloves on me at first, but mellows out to a warmer scent with a hint of booze. Twenty-five dollars well-spent. EDIT: Wore it today for the first time in a while, and it's been aged now for about six months. In the bottle and wet, it's a very strong, almost nose-curling scent; there's the rawness of the boozes here, like if you're stupid enough to sniff a bottle of whiskey, so be sure to put it on light, but not too light, otherwise you won't get enough of a scent. On the drydown, it mellows out a lot to a more cinnamon/clovey smell on me, with just a touch of whiskey. And, oddly enough, a touch of vanilla?
