This was one of the very first imps I tried, back in May. I enjoyed it but there was a very strong perfumey note in it that kept me from wearing it. I'm not sure if it's just that my nose has gotten more sophisticated or if aging just does amazing things for Grandmother of Ghosts- or even a little of both- but I love this now. The wood is dry but whisper light, with a veil of pepper and a mere drop of sweetness from the florals. It is quiet but has a definite and long lasting presence. Another one for my big bottle list.

This smells predominantly woody to me, with a wee kick of lemon. It's a brisk, imposing, and very sexy scent and my husband is jealously guarding the imp he swiped from me.

Oh, I love this. This isn't your shy, retiring floral, nor is it a loud, sugary floral. Hell's Belle is a sinister, sneaky floral that will probably try to kill you when you aren't paying attention. The magnolia is rich and voluptuous, with a little bit of spiciness to keep it from being too sweet. It's also very long lasting and definitely going on my big bottle list.

For the first few minutes, this smelled like the kind of fancy hand soap that comes in a pretty box and you aren't actually supposed to use it because you'll mess up the picture that's pressed into it. That kind of soap- lovely, expensive and not to be trifled with. After a few minutes, it smoothed out into a light, creamy floral with a kick of carnation and maybe a bit of almond. I don't think I need a big bottle, but I will use my imp.

I love chilly scents like Szpasszonny so I thought I would adore this. Even the rumors of violets didn't sway me, as I quite enjoy violets. Numb smells exactly like White Linen on me and that, unfortunately, is a dealbreaker. It's a very nice perfume, just not me at all.

This is every spooky, dark forest that has ever appeared in fairytales or nightmares. It evokes the image of being in a dense, tangly pine forest on a crisp fall evening, smelling the rich, loamy dirt, wondering if the sounds you hear are simply twigs cracking beneath your feet, or someone, SOMETHING creeping up behind you. It's absolutely brilliant. I do find that it fades very quickly on my skin, but have solved that by dabbing a bit on the inside of my shirt collar. This is a definite big bottle scent.

This was a frimp from the lab and I'm so happy that they picked this out for me. The only note I really recognize is the violet, but they are cool, dark violets. This is very feminine without being candy sweet, and makes me feel elegant and sophisticated. It IS rather strong, but applied sparingly it's lovely. I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so it must be a quirk of my skin chemistry, but several hours into wearing this, the violets disappear and leave behind the aroma of freshly baked bread. Very odd, but I enjoy the phenomena.

At first whiff, it's pure salt and leather, like a saddle after a hard ride. Immediately after that, the oceany tang comes through, with a good glug of rum and something that might be nutmeg. I find myself being so relaxed and happy whenever I wear this, to the point where I am sure to put some on when I know I am in for a long day. I will definitely get a big bottle.
