<runs off to look up the Raven> Body chemistry is some crazy stuff...Like on me, Bastet is a lovely rich spiced almond, Asp Viper's a good almond too...Queen of Sheba? Corn chips. /hijack Yes! I'm not the only one! Queen of Sheba went corn tortillas on me, I thought I was just a freak. Also, I love keeping a spreadsheet of everything I've tried with my comments on them. That way I can search a particular note and see everything I've thought of it in different blends. But on the subject of "training my nose," it wasn't until I had tried Smut that I recognized the scent of red musk. Which is funny, since I've worn plenty of Scherezade, Mme. Moriarty and some Mircalla. There was a similar feel/scent to them, but it finally clicked when I wore Smut. Suddenly that "feel" or vague scent was clear. It took weeks for me to smell something other than red musk in my old bottles, once I knew what it was Sorry for the hijack.. it was still sort of related!

I have to say Doc Constantine. I'm obsessed ever since my Easter Bunny sent it. Once the lemon dries out, it's all fir and leather on me. I found it well balanced and incredibly sexy. I tried it on the bf and he got a lot less lemon early on than I did. Just straight yum. Not that I'm planning on sharing any more with him

Miskatonic University is a great "I need a hug" smell to me. So is Cake Smash, though if I'm feeling too down I won't put on any perfume. Bengal and O are hug-like smells to me (though O might be a fairly naked hug, I do feel hugged when I wear it!) I realize this probably makes little to no sense.

Wet this is all grape and pomegranate. As it dries, the sweet pea comes out and blends with the grape and pomegranate. It's a very sweet, fruity scent. Dry, the sandalwood hovers softly in the background. This is incredibly fruity, but it's a soft fruit that doesn't quite punch me in the face the way some fruit blends have. It's sweetened by a kind of honey-vanilla smell and sweet pea. If I put my nose directly on my skin, I get the cognac in the background, but just smelling it from a few inches away, or a foot as I type this, I only get fruit and sweet pea. I'm not sure what I think. This definitely isn't something I'd usually go for, but I've said that about a lot of blends only to change my mind later.

I always figured that if there was, say, a drop of cinnamon in a bottle, the cinnamon was "diluted" by the other oils, so a carrier wasn't a necessity. But I'd love to know what the lab uses, just out of pure curiosity. All I know is that when I was little, my aunt tried to cure a stomach ache I had by rubbing pure cinnamon oil on my stomach. She had been learning about oils, but apparently hadn't gotten to the chapter about diluting She loves lavender and I'm hoping to enable her when she visits from France. So I hope that experience doesn't end up in this thread

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
Klepz replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
Hmm, Snake Oil turned my cleavage bright red, almost like a rash a few days ago. I would say that patchouli is common to both blends but you say you've never had a problem with it, and I don't know if varying types would make a difference. Lilith Victoria did the same thing to me yesterday. I'm thinking it's either 1) a reaction to a particular ingredient, or 2) repeated application of concentrated oils on a daily basis. I mean, I'd imagine that cleavage-skin ( ) is thinner and more sensitive. Have you ever had other oils produce a similar reaction? I've been giving my cleavage a rest in case it's just reacting to continued application. Does anyone think that could be it? -
Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I tried on Black Pearl today, and it smelled exactly like Victoria's Secret Mood Ripe. I remember having that back when I was a freshman in college, and I think it smelled like fig, which isn't listed as a note in Black Pearl. I'll have to try it again to make sure my nose isn't broken -
I'm interested in your compiled list! Really though I wish I knew which snow scents had mint in them and which didn't, since mint does horrible things to me. I'm pretty worried about the coconut in Snow White. I thought Yew Trees would just have a hint of coconut in it, but all I smelled was COCONUT WHOA! :\

I have a stack of separated and labeled droppers I guess that might make me a slatherer.

What are the best oils for arousing one's own sexual desire?
Klepz replied to AcadianSidhe's topic in Recommendations
I can guarantee sex every day I wear Snake Oil, it really is lovely! I suppose it's the vanilla... my fiance just can't seem to resist it's lure As for getting myself going, I recently found Dorian great for that. I waited hours for him to get home Maybe it's the fact that Dorian is a lighter scent that prompts me to action while a heavier, spicier blend ends up having the opposite effect. I'm not quite sure how to put it in words so I won't try! Has anyone tried Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht? I'd imagine the caramel + skin musk + amber + vanilla in it must pack a wallop.. any comments on it? -
Oh. My. God. Is it possible to marry inanimate objects? Because I don't mind forever with this one... When wet, Dorian definitely has a bit of that lemon that people mention. I was surprised to find that I adored the lemon. Once it dries, the lemon vanishes and Dorian only gets better. I definitely get vanilla tea and victorian gentleman from it. I expected Dorian to be too sweet on me, but it turned out perfect - just a mild sweetness that made the scent feminine enough for me, while still being wearable by the boyfriend. It also seems to have amazing staying power - at least 7 hours yesterday (I went to bed afterwards so I can't really tell). This is amazing for me, as I seem to eat a lot of lighter scents. 5/5, definitely getting a bottle. Or two. Or three.
