straight sniff from the bottle is a booze-laden tobacco.....perhaps that cognac that was in "the imp of the perverse"... once applied this doesn't do a whole bunch of morphing with my chemistry.... in a way, it quite reminds me of samhain 2005, albeit samhain has a sweeter, much smoother quality to it.......i think i need to age this bottle and see what happens as it is a very unique perfume..... how ironic~ i pulled this out yesterday (march 8th to the date one year later) and it is sooooooooo gorgeous... ...aged to become so stunning...extremely smooth and sweet and resinous...gah! i am thrilled i kept this

absolutely glorious!!!! usher is my fav of the entire maelstrom line!!!!! i get a touch of mint and some very expensive tea......it is like sipping iced tea in a beautiful connecticut garden surrounded by mother nature;lots of daisies and peonies... most definitely a keeper and i cannot wait to wear this in the warmer months ahead

straight sniff from bottle is aerosol aqua net hairspray and spit *gag* once applied the honey takes forefront but i still get that soury, spitty smell.... iggy..... this bottle needs to go off to a loving home without a doubt

to me this is smut/snake oil variant.....and something really jasminey or floral boohoooodles..... sadly enuff mad monkey musk is most definitely not for me and is off to a more loving home come 'morrow

straight sniff from imp is quite masculine to my schnoz..... this is sharp .... very sharp..... citrusy and very jasmine......something herbal as well......coriander perhaps?? meh.......this is an ok blend....nothing particularly mind blowing......

wet, juicy, ripe fruit......omg, in one word, lucious......... once applied the fruity goodness gets amplified in a splendidly glorious way...... gosh, this is so pretty!!!! i can hardly wait to wear this in the red, hot summertime as this scent seems just perfect for a warm and sultry day at the beach

straight sniff from the imp is jasmine and lemongrass....... upon application the jasmine takes over and everything else is gone with the exception of the a lovely, lemony smell.... hmmmm.....i do believe this could possibly be another jasmine scent that may possibly agree with my chemistry as it mellows nicely ........

straight sniff from the imp is carnation and lemon .... in that order.... once applied the honeysuckle takes forefront with this blend and then it softens up......the carnation and lemon are beautifully balanced..... such a shame this one does not last long at all on me......

sweet and pungent cedarwood and bay leaves are predominant in this blend.....seems quite masculine.....i think i will pass this little imp onto my dear boyfriend and see how yummy he might smell wearing it.....

cathedral and the pit and the pendulum are dead ringers of each other....

this is zombi's younger, more youthful sister the most predominant note in this blend is the earth followed by just a hint of floral....also has a light or airy quality to it.... this scent fades fairly quickly....

straight sniff from bottle is an herby floral blend..... yessss! i have finally found a scent with civet that agrees with my chemistry!! this is just beautiful....i get the notes of sage and iris perfectly... this is an extremely well balanced scent and i will cherish my bottle...

dizzying jasmine..... and since jasmine and i don't normally play nicely together this is not a good scent for me....i think that maybe the geranium in this is what amps up the jasmine to the fullest......not good

straight sniff from bottle this smells just like the great sword of war...... pure orange and cocoa.....maybe some underlying dirt or earth this is one potent blend as i only applied a small amount and it lasted for hours...this is a very foody/gourmand scent to me....interesting but i am not sure i am head over heels for it

straight sniff from the bottle this smells dead on to my beloved cathedral.... once applied it is all about the incense....lovely...... i had to do a side by side comparison and oddly enough cathedral and this scent are identical.....no ifs, ands or buts.......i have never had this happen with any bpal scents before......must be my chemistry (??) weird...

sniff from imp is all about roses.....mellowed roses...... when applied it is heavy duty rose and cognac...this does not morph or change....pure rose and booze..... extremely long lasting as i applied the teensiest dab on my wrist and it kept going strong for hours......

ok so i "thought" that i had created a pretty darned fabby dupe of POTL (see above post) but by the grace of higher powers i have finally perfected it yes, i am simply mad about POTL and just had to have the perfect dupe ala bpal blends..... my recipe: 1 ml - smut 1 ml - dragon's milk 1 ml - midnight mass 3/4 ml - cathedral 1/2 ml - kyoto i put a cool label on my bottle of the tokidoki heart and crossbone design.... i am just thrilled i have done it, albeit, smut and midnight mass are LEs.....

straight sniff from imp is plum and berries... upon application the plum turns sharp, almost acidic...after 30 minutes i get some floral action going on; it must be the gardenia and lilac....then some spiciness....such a morpher this one is not sure if i want a big bottle but i will keep my imp and love it a few more times....

straight sniff from the imp is dragon's blood and beautifully complex amber upon application this warms up beautifully with my chemistry.....the amber amps up after awhile and sweetens this blend into something i will be wearing time after time....i love this

straight sniff from imp is all apple and cinnamon goodness!!! upon application the spiciness takes forefront and the apple fades softly in the background....lovely.... i will be wearing my imp when i feel the need for making myself more adaptable

straight sniff from imp is a delightful airy floral blend upon application i get lots of beautiful flowers...daffodil, peony, violet and just a hint of rose....thankfully i get no soapiness....and oddly no spice but that is really o.k. with me this is very long lasting and strong on me....the tiny dab on my wrist from the imp is still going strong after a few hours wear!! while it does not morph much, the florals are simply glorious; enough that this warrants a big bottle purchase for the upcoming summer months

straight sniff from bottle is very woodsy....almost like cathedral.... upon application it stays pretty cedary... but after awhile this turns into a beautiful bouquet of herbs and greens combined with a cedary type of incense with some smoke and spice...gosh i love this and i am thrilled i ordered a bottle and will certainly cherish and wear this with all the good intentions it delivers

straight sniff from the bottle is way lovely i get all the bamboo pulp and white sandalwood..... after only 5 minutes this amps up into the most intense ylang ylang that i simply cannot bear my stoooooooooooooopid chemistry is so unfrigginpredictable ...boohiss

the only coconut that works for me that i can vouch for is red lantern.... insanely cocconutty with my chemistry.....love it to pieces!!
