Wet, this is a somewhat sweet dragon's blood. When Dragon's Heart dries, it's a hell of a sexy musky dragon's blood. It's a heavy scent to wear here in the middle of summer, though. Makes me feel hot and sweaty. Later on, it loses the dragon's blood and smells like menstrual blood. I've had this problem with red musk before.

It does smell like dried apricots on me too, and is making me thirsty/crave fruit. When it was wet and freshly applied, Grand Guignol smelled like peaches and cream. Now, dry, it's dried apricots and fizzy champagne!

Dried herbs, the bite of pepper, and roses. Imagine opening a spice drawer that's empty now, but has been used as a spice drawer since the beginning of time. Now add a few roses to the room, and there you go. (To clarify, the spice drawer wasn't full of cinnamon and cloves, but instead bottles of italian seasoning, basil, oregano, etc.) It's not a bad smell, but not something I would ever wear as just a perfume. Unfortunately the intent of it didn't seem to work either, as my boyfriend spent the evening beside me playing video games rather than ravishing my wrists.

Vetiver is a note that really amps on my skin, and turns into a burnt tire smell. Oddly, Fallen doesn't do that to me at all. Fallen smells like powder, pretty violets and ylang ylang on me. I smell *something* heavy that's darkening the whole thing. Is this vetiver? This isn't bad. Why isn't vetiver always this kind, taking the backseat and letting the lighter notes poke out? After half an hour, Fallen has fallen off my skin, and I can only smell it on the bit that got on my shirt collar.

Mr. Babylon tested Nero out. Wet: It smells like sage, resting on a bed of pine needles. We think the bay and rosemary are combining to give it the sage-y scent. Boyfriend says it reminds him of an old aftershave he had, but better. Dry: Black licorice and pine. Odd, but comforting.

What the heck? My nose must be acting up. I get pure vetiver from this, and nothing else. Vetiver always amps up on my skin and smells like a burning tire. And unfortunately beautiful Clio smells like said burning tire on my wrist.

For me, this smells like a craft shop at first, then calms after a couple hours into an autumn/Christmas scented candle. The dominant note through it all is clove. It's alright, but is something I'd rather have in the fall and winter.

Wet: Freshly crushed mint, very chilly. When I sniff this, I'm half expecting to see my breath when I blow it back out. It smells that cold. As it's drying, I feel like Undertow is actually pulling me under water. The scent is still chilly, but now there's something dark lurking there at the bottom. It's not scary down here under water, though. The lotus is giving the scent just a touch of comforting sweetness, like the feeling of water enveloping you, which is a comfortable feeling this Cancer loves. Dry: The water is all around me, black as night, and I can see no light. It's mostly juniper at this point, but doesn't smell fruity like juniper sometimes does on me. Instead it's more reminiscent of wood, or deep underwater plants that brush against your legs and wrap around your feet. Of course I dig this scent. Can't believe I haven't ordered a big bottle yet. I consider it a much more wearable Cthulhu for me.

This is my boyfriend's new favorite scent. I had ordered an imp for myself, but he snatched it and would probably growl if I went near the imp. He even made me order a big bottle of it just for him...keeps asking if I'm sure I ordered it, how long it will take to get here, etc. He's NEVER like this. I hope that tells you something about the powah of Shango. This review is how it smells on his skin, to he and I. (Though this is definitely gender neutral, and I'd wear it if I could.) Wet on skin: Freshly picked apples, pineapples, and this nifty "spiciness" from the chili pepper. I put it in quotes because it's not like any spicy stuff I'm used to in a scent. It's not like cinnamon of course, it's not like pepper. It gives the fruit a bite that it normally wouldn't have. Dry: The candy Runts. Specifically, banana Runts, being chewed up in your mouth. Chili pepper stays with it to give it that bite. Mostly, it's banana with coconut. The fruits that came out at the beginning decide to take off after awhile, pineapple being the last to go. Hours later: Still banana Runts, coconut, and chili pepper. Like nothing I've ever smelled before, and I love it.

Absolutely delicious. I wish it were edible. At least this way I'm not cheating on my diet. In the imp: Butter, cake. Somehow Beth stuffed someone's kitchen in here. Wet on skin: Black currants and a lick of frosting (vanilla) on cake. This doesn't smell like the yellow cake scent I get from Monster Bait: Closet. It's more "white cake" smelling. No butter smell at all. Dry: The currants take over for a bit during drydown. Aw, it fades pretty quickly.... which means I need a big bottle. If you're a foody scent person, you should be ashamed if you haven't already ordered a bottle of this! After you're done hanging your head, go make the order. It really is a yummy scent. Edit: I agree with blood*rose*flowers. It's definitely a lighter/quieter foody scent than others.

I hope you never have to go back to that place.... Can't believe they made you guys do that!! They should give you hazard pay or something for that shift, but that wouldn't even make up for it.

Olokun is CthulhuLite. >:E It's a shiny, bright, salty, ocean smell, but much lighter than Cthulhu. You will love this if you dig marine scents or are looking for something fresh with absolutely no florals, woods, or green bits involved. The best part of Olokun today was when I took a shower hours after putting it on, and smelling it wafting around with the real water for at least half the shower (it really stays!).

Alright, I bought a bottle of this unsniffed, right when it went live. It's RAMSES, man! omg!134253$%#! I'm a shameless Egyptophile, and majored in both ancient History and English (wtf? ). I swear my debit card helpfully leaped out of my purse downstairs and into my anxious hands the second I read Ozymandias and its description. Here goes! Wet: Perfumey! And I put a LOT on! It's on my neck, behind my ears, on my wrists, and in my hair. I'm coughing and argh... I smell like sharp cheap perfume. Oh no! It'll be hard to wear this one, and I was hoping to wear it pretty regularly. I'm horribly disappointed and want to go to my bedroom and cry and hug plush Cthulhu, but I have to go to work. At work, within 15 minutes of slathering: This is just GORGEOUS, uncannily evocative of what it's named after, and, well... like nothing else (bpal or otherwise) that I've ever smelled! I smell a faded incense and something that literally smells like a crumbling, powdery stone. It's not a powdery smell, but rather gives me the visual image of ancient stone blocks and statues that are weathered and crumbling off at the edges. The next time I wore it, boyfriend said it smelled like myrrh and rock dust. Staying power: Phenomenal. After the inital sharp perfumey smell, that only seems to last for about 10 minutes on me, it continually smells like incense and stone for at least a 9 hour shift at work. Overall, I'm glad I just went ahead and bought a bottle. I seem to wear it on days when I want a quieter Anne Bonny or an incense blend.

A deep, rich sherry encased in dusty darkness, touched by oak, and damp catacomb stone. The scent begins with a sense of drunken glee, of orange peel, bittersweet berry and rose hip, and moves inexorably towards the dread and terror expressed in black patchouli. Fortunato is very straightforward on me, and is the perfect scent for the name. It starts off smelling a little like a screwdriver. Oranges with a bit of some kind of liquor. It really is the scent of drunken glee. After awhile, the orange wears off, and the entire scent fades to a dark patchouli. I love you, Fortunato! I don't get any of your berries, rose hip, oak, or stone, but you're gorgeous nontheless. For the love of God!

At first, The Fool is spearmint bubblegum. Not just mint, but the gum smell too. Then lilac comes out to play, and for awhile it's an oddly zesty mix. The mint is like having your head in the clouds, and the lilac is like having your feet on the ground, being grounded and calmed by an earthy bouquet. Perfect! After awhile, I also get this nifty HUMID scent! It's the same smell I get when I stick my head in our hermit crab cage, or like how a reptile cage smells, without any food/poop/animal scent. Just the heavy humidness. It's very hard to describe in scent terms.

Another delicious scent! I don't get cotton candy from Pink Phoenix, but then again, I ate cotton candy maybe twice when I was a kid, so that's probably why I don't have that association. Wet, this is sugary strawberries dropped in a bowl of honey. Mmm! My first dance with a BPAL strawberry. She's very loud (where are you, pear, sweetpea, and vanilla?), but she's a pretty one and I'll forgive her. After it dries, it's still mostly strawberry, but I think I can smell some vanilla smoothing it all out, because it smells very much like strawberries and cream to me. Kind of like those hard candies, CreamSavers. A few hours later, Pink Phoenix is sweet strawberry, and... hey, some sweetpea! Didn't know sweetpea would stick around that long, but glad she did. This has awesome staying power, makes me feel girly, and is great for a different fruity scent (all my other fruity oils are citrussy).

This starts off as a chilly green winter mint (definitely not a foody or sugary sweet mint) on top of slushy snow. Beautiful! After awhile, the mint fades away, and the scent becomes... well... It's hard to describe the scent. It's just a really chilled, barren and desolate, never-ending cold nothingness scent. It's the perfect capture of a nuclear winter. You can almost see ruins, covered in snow, with a constant wind howling, no signs of life... that utter stillness. I love the imagery, and I love Nuclear Winter. It's turned out to be one of my favorite scents.

Absolutely delicious! 13 is pure chocolate and orange, and I love it. It lasts forever (last time I put it on at 3pm and it was still going strong when I went to bed 12 hours later!), and makes people's stomachs growl when they're around me. So happy to have a bottle of this yummy chocolate scent.

Hmm, this is really perfumey on me. It's almost a pure "perfume" floral smell for a few hours, and then I can detect the faintest whiff of honey. Good throw, and lasts hours and hours. Unfortunately, it never loses that department store perfume smell for me. ETA: This is the first and only BPAL oil to smell this way on me, so it must be one of the rarer flowers or something that's doing it, not something that I've experienced in any other oil.

Weirdly, this smells floral at first. Kind of like powdery jasmine. After 15 or so minutes, it becomes cedar and sandalwood and incense. Sri Lanka stays that way for a few hours, and then I'm left with just cedar hanging out, until he too fades. Pretty nice incense/wood blend that actually wasn't as dry on me as I was led to believe by the description.

Starry white lilies lend an eerie brightness to the deep black wooded scents of cypress and oak, layered with a touch of crushed dried leaves and the faintest aquatic note. At first, this is pungent wet earth. It's so strong that I feel like I'm being buried alive. Every breath is dirt. Already I'm thinking I might have to scrub this off, the dirt smell is so strong compared to any others I've sniffed (Jazz Funeral, Graveyard Dirt, etc). I swiped the imp wand maybe twice across one wrist, and it's very overpowering. 5 minutes later: Yay! It morphed completely! Now it's a wonderful patch of moss that's growing on treebark, covered in dew and some wet dead leaves. It makes me think of bugs a bit, smells like someplace where bugs would be living. Half an hour later: Whoa, where'd it go? It's entirely gone. Well if I sniff *real* hard, there's a faint leaf smell. I have Hamadryad, the Caterpillar, and Luperci, and those all work well for a mossy scent for me, without having to get past the omgoverwhelming dirt phase. Off to the swaps with this one, unfortunately!

This definitely is a fruit scent on my skin. Wet: Melons, backed up by a soft floral scent that I can't put my finger on. Dry: A juicy orange melon cut open, but softened and faded by that floral. This is probably the first fruity scent I don't care for all that much. I don't like to eat melons, so I don't really care for the smell of them either. I got no hint of the spices, which probably would have smelled great with the melon. Ah well, I still have my Mi-Go when I need an uberfroot scent. The scent faded fairly quickly on me, so this would be a slatherer.

Wet: Rose, with fresh zingy juniper and a touch of chamomile. Very herbally smelling, but still mostly rose. Dry: Hmm, oddly, it smells like a burning rose to me now. If I sniff my wrist lightly, I can smell rose and chamomile. But if I inhale deeply, yep! That rose is on fire! In a bed of charcoal. Very weird. I don't think this is for me, but will give it another try before the final decision.
