THE PHOENIX IN AUTUMN Through swirling winds, the Phoenix restlessly wanders: dry leaves, Indonesian patchouli, coffee bean, twining ivy, teak, hyssop, and tonka. I generally fond of the phoenix scents and I LOVE autumn so it was made to be? Wrong. In the bottle it's a soft, woody, scent that gave a hint of spice! So far so good. Once on my skin something just doesn't play nice. Not the frontal wedgie!! AH! It turns slightly sour on me. Nooooooooooo. Not the BO smell! Anything but that!!! Why??? Why don't you play nice with me??? 45 minutes later it softens a bit but it still won't give me my ball back. It taunts me. I don't think I'll be playing with Autumn Phoenix any more. I just wanted a new friend.......*sniff, sniff*

Named in honor of the most notorious female pirate to ever set sail. Wicked, cruel, beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and dangerous: a true role model. A blend of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood, and frankincense. A million thanks to Juliana Williamson-Page for inspiration! In the imp it's nice and spicy. Oooh goodie!!! On the skin it very woody....well on me at least. I'm getting a lot of "cedar" and I don't know why. Maybe the Frank and Sand mingle and have a cedar baby. I'm not complaining because I dig that. Not a BIG throw but more than some in the beginning. It gets eaten up on my skin but unfortunately most do. After 2 hours the scent is all but gone on my wrist. I can still get the scent of woody spice but it's very faint. All in all I really like this scent. Eventually, I may need to purchase a bottle!

The Lab frimped me this! It's a beautiful dark red color. At first sniff, I get resin but not a spicy resin. Must be the opium which is darker smelling but not SPICY. Rubbing it into my skin it has a very.....typical smell for headshops. Not all head shops mind you.... I can honestly say I'm not digging it. It's sweet smelling but not CANDY sweet. On dry down it turns to wax on my skin. Ehhh.... I'm glad I got to test it but it's not for me.

I bought the bottle straight from the lab! I loved all the scent notes in this one at first read.....except for the dead leaves. I tried it one year and didn't love it but I thought with all the other notes it HAD to be good. Well, as most sniffers have already stated at first sniff it's SO LIGHT. I couldn't discern any clove, leather or vanilla at ALL. The blending of all 4 scents combined into something else..... On the skin it was more of a CLEAN scent. Not rich or heady with clove or leather at all. I was bummed. As it sat on my skin the scent stayed very close. Not much throw at all. It didn't change much on me from wet to dry. It's not bad. It's just not what I was looking for.....

I was frimped with this little baby and I'm so glad I was. In the imp it's resiny which I love! I got a hint of dirt but it went away pretty quickly. It's Patch but not really HEADSHOP patch. It could be if not for the vanilla that seems to be hiding in the background. I know there isn't any in it but the combination of scents morphs into vanilla. On the skin it's vanilla and woody which I'm really digging. And there really isn't the true COCONUT scent which is good because it can be very fake and suntan-like. This is a resiny/woody vanilla scent that's very earthy. I really like it. Bottle worthy.

I just got this in the mail and I love it! It's clove and more clove. I ordered 2 more bottles. Love at first sniff!!

I was frimped this little number. In the imp it definitely smelled like a version of absinthe. Yes, I've had it. And it's not bad. It had a minty, anise scent with a hint of CHOCOLATE? Humm... On the skin there was no chocolate but the anise was stronger and cleaner. I don't get much lemon and that's good because I'm not a fan of the lemony scents. As it melts into my skin it's minty without being really harsh. It's blending very nice with my skin and isn't being eaten up as a lot of the scents do with my chemistry. It's fresh and sort of clean. I'm enjoying this very much. I keep getting wafts of the scent from the front of my shirt and it's SO LOVELY. I can see a bottle of this in my future for certain!!!

I am a FIEND for Achulophobia in the 2013 Weenies! Is there ANYTHING in the GC that is close?? I will cry when my 2 hoarded bottles are empty. Even though the scent gets eaten up on my skin, I LOVE it and end up making sure it's in my clothes to make the scent last longer. Notes are Black patch, tobacco absolute, opoponax and inky black musk

In the bottle and immediately on skin is smell is....sweet. Candy-like. The more it sits on my skin I can smell the berry and the amber and possibly the iris. It's smelling like a berry cough drop. I can smell the powder in the background. My skin is just eating it up. Not my favorite.

I really wanted peach but all I got was rose. All floral rose. *sigh*

I was so excited to try this one so I bought a bottle "unsniffed." Unfortunately, it was not what I had hoped. In the bottle is all red musk and dust and I LOVE dust but not in this unification. So I put it on and all I could smell was.....ROOTBEER?????? What?? No like it, no like it. I didn't get much leather at all and I LOVE woody notes and it just....wasn't. *sigh* Off to the swaps.

WOAH MOIST DIRT!!! It smells like my cubby hole underneath my parents house! I ploughed thru....as it warmed up on my arm the cloying dirt smell subsides and I'm left with something kind of pretty. Sort of floral but still mossy and green. It doesn't have a lot of throw and on my skin type doesn't last very long. I do like it but not enough for a bottle. My husband and dad said it was nice from the bottle. They didn't get the heavy dirt scent like I do. maybe it's a guy thing.

I really like the spiciness of this scent. It's nice and deep. The woods are sweet and grounding. I was nervous about the rose but it adds just a hint of floral to lift the scent and not be so basey. I could detect a smidge of chocolate when I first put it on but as it melts into my skin it rounds out the other scents. I'm really liking this! It doesn't last long on me but very few really do. A winner for me!!!

Well, I put it on and got the thick buttery note but as it warmed on my skin it turned into a real squashy scent. It was as if I rubbed a gourd on my arm. But it didn't last long at all on me and it turned to straight up candle wax after an hour.

I was hoping it would be a little like my Decrepit House from Halloweens past but alas, it was not. It had a slight woody scent to it but turned musky/floral on my skin. I love a good musk but it wasn't the type of musk that made me crave it's mellow scent. It was pleasant enough but not bottle worthy. The pale feel and scent was spot on by others who commented. It did have a creamy golden feel to it. Interesting.....

I LOVE IT !!! Incensy, spicy and sweet. It has a nice throw and lasts on my skin. BOTTLE WORTHY!!!

In the bottle it's a strange mix. I can smell a little booze, blood and grain. Not unpleasant but it makes you go, hummmmmm. Wet on the skin it goes floral/banana. Just like a few others mentioned! No booze or blood. A little grain but it's peeking in the background because the banana is holding it hostage! Dry on skin it's all floral and a clean smelling soap or detergent. It's kinda nice.....if you like cleaner, floral scents. I'm a spice gal but this is something I'd dab on for something different. A big bottle is not in the cards for me, but I'm happy that I got to experience it!!

I got the imp months ago but never tried it past the sniffing stage. So, today was the day! It's all butter in the imp. Very rich and buttery. I don't get much else but butter. Wet on the skin it begins to open up a little. I can smell a tart waft, but it's not peach, it smells more like apples, it's probably from the spices. Dry: Wax. Damn it! My skin turns everything to wax. It wasn't on half an hour before it went straight to wax. My skin chemistry sucks!!!

I'll start off by saying I love wood. You can snicker if you need to......I was looking forward to all the notes in this scent but was sort of disappointed. It smelled a bit like The Wrestlers to me. Which I liked but didn't love. I'm not a fan of the tonka or should I say, it's not a fan of my skin. Pussy smelled the same wet to dry (snicker some more) but once it dried it turned to candle wax on my skin. I'm bummed.

Alice's Evidence is wonderful, spicy ginger. Cassis and Prune round it out nicely. It's in the GC too!!!

Like everyone echoed, it's ROOTBEER!! Heavy vanilla rootbeer. It stays very true from imp to dry down. It smells sweet and bubbly. Unfortunately, after 3 hours it turns to candle wax on me. Damn my PH!!!

I got my hands on some peach moon! Thank you CIRCAEA!! In the bottle: I get that wonderful dry peach and Chrysanthamum with a big whiff of Jasmine. Wet on Skin: Peach and Jasmine. But the Jasmine is tempered by the mums and ho-wood, which I'm happy about. Smells very nice on me. YEAH! Dry Down: Everything plays so nice together. It's a brighter scent but a lazy bright scent. Like bathing in the sunlight. Only problem for me is that it doesn't last long. My skin gobbles it up. I have to sniff my wrist really close in 3 hours of putting it on to smell it. Why does my skin eat EVERYTHING??? I'm still enjoying this scent. I'll just keep reapplying it.

I DO love fig and oakmoss but I'm not a fan of patch or shroom but I thought I'd give this a whirl and I'm glad I did! In the bottle: it's patch and sweet fig with the dirt undertone. I hope it doesn't go all dirt on me. Wet on the skin: The oakmoss is tempering everything, I think, making the patch not so headshop on me. I can smell the dirt but it grounds the sweetness of the fig. I'm liking it. Dry: It's a rich, sweet scent that I'm enjoying very much. I don't believe I'll get a bottle of this, but when I feel the urge to enjoy a GOOD patch scent, this is definitley the one I'm going to eek out. On my skin, it doesn't last really long. It stays close on me. Most oils break down quickly on my skin though which sucks because I find I need to reapply a few times in the day to continue to enjoy the scents. Slathering = buying more = light wallet.

Fresh imp from the lab: In the imp: WOAH! Strong. Sugary floral. Do I smell a lemon? Ugh. Not liking it. Wet on skin: AH!! ROSES. Lots and lots of sugary roses. My husband smelled me and told me to wash it off. I didn't though. I wanted to see if it turned into something else. Oh, please, please..... Dry on skin: Still roses but with a spicy, heavy undertone that I can't put my finger on. The lemony smell is gone (yay), and the roses linger. It's kinda pretty now. Kinda soapy but not quite. Hummmm??? It has some throw and lasts a bit on me. I can't say it's a favorite or that I'll wear it a lot at all, but it was the first rose scent I ever tried. I'm not a floral gal. I do think I amp rose. It lingered!!! I wish the spicy/resin came out more. I'm definitley glad the wet stage didn't last that long.
