In imp: definitely jasmine, but with a hint of what I assume is ginger. In my notes I have written "moldy wood" haha On skin: slight fruity sweetness of apricot peeks out, but still the jasmine/ginger combo Drydown: light femme musk, with a creaminess that lends it some sophistication Verdict: I was hoping to be mega-wowed but I suppose I was only a little wowed I'd like to try this a few more times before I make any rash decisions, but frankly I'm not so sure I like the combination of jasmine with... well any of these notes. On a personal note, jasmine itself reminds me of this jasmine-scented coconut hair oil my mother used to have, that I'd use to mix with henna and other ingredients for my hair in high school.

In imp: creamy honey amber On skin: takes on a slightly powdery tone with a light drift of what smells like musty sandalwood to me. Amber? Drydown: powdery amber creaminess Verdict: Wasn't terribly exciting but I do like it, I've tried Womb Furie and this seems like a less sexy version of that. Perhaps I just need to try it again.

*cue angelic choir* Honestly when I first saw this description, I worried that pine would equal PineSol. Luckily it isn't so. In imp: smells like.... patchouli over something light? Smells pleasantly piney. On skin: Creamy vanilla pine, with an undertone that reminds me of light vetiver. Must be juniper? Nice. Drydown: more sandalwood toned ambery spice with a fresh undertone of pine/juniper. Verdict: Understated sexy. Just this side of masculine, in my opinion, but I'll definitely wear it

In bottle: grape bubblegum/chiclets with a very faint almost chocolatey musk quality? On skin: Plummy, deep purple musk with a sweet floral tinge Drydown: Darkly sexy fruits... forbidden fruits eh?? Verdict: Not quite what I was hoping to smell from Bordello, but I'll definitely try it again. I was hoping to get something a bit more lusty and wanton than a bowl of overripe fruit.

In imp: Bright juicy orange tang with a touch of rose On skin: Roses with a citrus twinge, a bit of creamy honey lurking in the background. Is sandalwood here yet? Drydown: Oranges and honeyed, crushed roses, with a slight powdery, musky quality to it Verdict: In all honesty this reminded me a great deal of this roll-on perfume my mother used to always wear, Cleopatra's Secret. I forget the brand name but the bottle had a dream catcher on the side, and a black lid. Very sexy and feminine. Funny story, the night I chose to wear this I ended up being invited to a church function, and for the first time in AGES someone asked me what perfume I was wearing!! I lied and said Cleopatra's Secret because, come on... I was enough of a Jezebel in that church as it was...

In imp: The sharp bite of lemon soaked lavender with an undertone of... like a white musk. Hollow, is the word I'm feeling. On Skin: Sage-rosemary rubbed on skin perfumed with white musk. This is dry and nearly metallic in its... hollowness. Drydown: Do I hear an echo? Haha this is a very sexy, coolly collected feminine musk on me, reminds me a bit of Kataniya in that cold muskiness. I get the memory of a lemon every now and again. Verdict: Basically already said this, but The Scales is cool and sexy white musk, I could see a stern businesswoman wearing this scent in her pencil skirt and blazer, with her hair pulled back TIGHT. No nonsense! Well, except for that lemon... sly little thing.

Sin! In imp: straight up skin-warmed patchouli On skin: more sandalwoody patchouli, something bright and sweet playing at the background. Ambery cinnamon? Drydown: sweet and sultry sandalwood with the deep earthiness of patchouli grounding it Verdict: I do like it, I was kinda hoping this would smell like liquid sexuality, but it reminds me a bit of my patchouli-wearing grandfather. It's probably sexy if you're hot for hippies, but regardless it has potential ETA: This oil was a very dark red, and kind of funny to see swiped across my wrists. Maybe I'm just morbid >_> ETAA: Hey now, what the. It's a sexualized sandalwood now, like what a vixen faun might smell like.

Well, my grandfather's cousins had their grandchild/grandnephew with them. After a long car ride, the two year old was desperate to cause a ruckus no matter the time. Desperately I reached for Somnus. Remarkably, it helped. Usually I don't apply oils before bed but that one was soothing enough. I would also think Dirty would work, it's such a clean comforting scent.

What first came to my mind is The Isles of Demons, but that can't be totally right

I received a sample of Port Royal soap in a forum purchase, and it's just amazing. The soap itself is very much salty sea, and some sexy ladies dipping in it. I accidentally pressed my lip to it when I smelled it and now my upper lip smells of salt. I get a FAINT hint of the spiced rum if I inhale deeply- must be the ladies drank all the rum (Why is the rum gone? ) Since it's a pretty small piece of soap, I just chose to wash my hands with it, it has decent but not overwhelming silky ocean lather, and it leaves my skin pleasantly scented (SALTY SEA AIR with a bit of musk) and surprisingly moisturized. I may have to break down and buy ALL THE SOAPS someday.

Purchased from chromeoxide! My little impy decant tells me mine is Womb Furie 2012, not sure if she's a different blend or just aged or what. In bottle: a lightly spiced vanilla on skin: Weird, sort of vanilla-y... is this... lady parts that I'm smelling? Lady parts freshly washed with vanilla soap. O.o With a very mellow incensed honey background. Unnerving but amusing. Drydown: Sensual creamy honeyed musk <3 Very much a skin scent, reminding me of the sensuality of Les Bijoux, without so much of the peachiness. Verdict: I AM SEX ahem. I adore this smell very much, it makes me feel lickable in all the right ways Oh goodness me. *fans self*

Purchased from Chromeoxide! In imp: pine, eggnog, and sugar cookie. Hello Christmas? On skin: A spicy cinnamon/clove smell, this did irritate my skin to a lovely shade of pink, but I pressed on. Drydown: I'm rewarded for my efforts with vanilla chai tea eggnog. The vanilla and pine must make the eggnog scent? Verdict: Surprisingly yummy for something so ghastly! Part of me was rather hoping this would be unusual and bordering on disgusting, but I like this scent in general. I recommend wearing this while eating pie, because YUM.

Perhaps I'll bring this thread to life again I've never experienced any of my oils going "bad", and most of mine were bought from other forumites (I assume already aged), the oldest I have are from the lab from 2009... but now that I've found this thread I worry that maybe some of mine are bad and I don't even know it? Thoughts?

purchased from chromeoxide! In bottle: Ginger candy and red kool-aid? This is a sugar rush in a bottle. On Skin: A warm spiced baking scent, like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger pie crust. Drydown: This is my grandmother's peach pie recipe- all creamy, spiced, sweet fruit. Verdict: A great scent to get in a baking mood, just in time for the holidays! I do love this scent. I'd read that some people likened this to Sugar Skulls, so I'm thinking maybe I should get my paws on some of that for comparison

Purchased from chromeoxide! In bottle: Soapy jasmine? Must be chamomile, but I'm getting a slight sharpness from this. On skin: Warms to a powdery, creamy version of the aforementioned note, sharpness disappears Drydown: Powdered milk and honey. This is a honeycomb. Verdict: My skin must amp honey something fierce, because almost everything else drowned out. I do like honey but I was hoping for more variety. I may have to try this one again to determine if the honey thing is a monthly issue or what...

Purchased from chromeoxide! In Bottle: reminds me of Akuma's fruitiness, with a sweetly medicinal background. On Skin: mature floral honey, but not quite as sweet- almost salty? Drydown: Reminding me of hand soap. Oh wait- hours later this is a musky honey. Verdict: I'm starting to think that my chemistry amps honey, not that I dislike honey, just... to have my variety of imps all becoming honey? Seems a bit boring. I'll have to try this out again to get a good read.

purchased from Chromeoxide! In bottle: PURE GINGERBREAD before I even got the thing to my nose! On skin: Cinnamon red hots, with a hint of gingerbread underneath. Where'd my gingerbread go?? Drydown: Welcome back, gingerbread! I feel tasty in this over the course of the day I'd catch whiffs and have to smell myself again, in between actively smelling myself. At one point the gingerbread toned down a bit more and smelled like horchata, a rice milk drink native to my heritage. I got a little emotional Verdict: This is an incredibly realistic interpretation of gingerbread, the whole thing is just delicious from beginning to end. This may end up being a favorite of mine, especially for this lovely fall to winter weather I'm experiencing.

Purchased from Chromeoxide! I tried v3 the day before this one, so my perceptions may have been skewed. In bottle: straight butterscotch. On skin: oatmeal and faint redwood with a slight coffee background. Drydown: coffee-stained wood table. After a while a rumminess peeks out, making this like Elegba's shy sister to my nose. At the very end of the day, however, this becomes a soft creamy scent that's very lovely. Elegba doesn't do this. Verdict: Though this is nice, I prefer the v3's intense coffee to this one. I can't really even think of these two as being the "same" though, Miskatonic University reminded me wholeheartedly of Elegba, a scent I already own. Will have to try this one some more to get an official read on it. My review of Elegba, for comparison.

Purchased from chromeoxide! For whatever reason, the universe wished me to try this one before my imp of the original I also had a speech in class today, so this certainly perked me up for that! In bottle: first whiff coffee, then tootsie rolls? Maple syrup? Hmm. On skin: Somehow I get the doughiness of pancakes, with a cinnamon/maple swirl, and a hint of coffee. Drydown: Ohh I get what that doughiness was- an undercurrant of whiskey This seems musky and warm, hazelnut coffee in the hands of a cute dude in a sweater vest Verdict: I LOVE the coffee in this, and the complexity keeps it from being boring. I feel like a baristaaaa!

Purchased from Babypopje! In bottle: A swirl of smoke, charred wood On skin: More woodsmoke, and somehow a hint of post coitus? O.o must be tonka. Sandalwood maybe? Drydown: Burning sandalwood/incense, creamy tonka/vanilla undertone, and it's lost that sex smell haha Verdict: I do LOVE this one! Even the part where I had my eyes closed enjoying the scent of a bonfire, and ol' Rumpy decided to stick his junk in my face. I don't know how she does it, but there's burning in this bottle. Good burning. Me gusta. ETA: Checked out the description once more... Where on earth am I getting sandalwood? BUT I LOVE THIS SCENT.

Purchased from Babypopje! In bottle: sweet light musk underneath a clean orangey floral. Not orange as in the juice, but orange as in the essence of the peel, the oil that comes off onto your fingers as you peel. On skin: Orange soap. I get a faint whiff of musky cat pee. T_T Drydown: Marquise de Merteuil, is that you? Smells like you. Verdict: I feel like I already have this scent. It's nice, but everything up until the drydown I'm not a big fan of. May need to retry before sending off to the swap corner of no love.
-
Purchased from Babypopje! In bottle: sweet crisp pears and a floral undertone. Not sure what at the moment. On skin: Rosewater! Drydown: Roses and pears and light musk, oh my! Lovely indeed. Verdict: A very pale green rose scent. I find this gender neutral bordering on feminine, it's so pretty! It's that man you find otherworldly gorgeous but are too afraid to find out if he's gay or not! I was pleasantly surprised, I expected the white musk to go very cologne-y on me, but it didn't.
-
Purchased from Babypopje! In bottle: sweet artificial orange flavor, like those chocolate oranges you find around Christmas. On skin: BLEGH! Weird scent. Reminds me of orange cleaning products and... vetiver? Weird unsettling background to this. Drydown: The orange returns but gently, almost as an apology for the initial application period. By the end of the day I'm somehow a sexy creamsicle. Verdict: I'm going to need to try this again to get a decent read, but as far as I can tell I'm not terribly impressed. I've read where people compare this to Vixen, and it doesn't compare in my mind/nose. Still pretty once it's dried down, so maybe I'll keep some hope alive for Ravenous.

Purchased from Babypopje! In imp: Metal, sweetness of maybe a motor oil? Patchouli... very clean scent, musky pennies in my mouth. Bright copper. On skin: Slight nuttiness peeks out, with an undertone of ozone, otherwise this is the same scent... from far off I get coffee? Interesting. Drydown: I'd compare this to a male Kataniya The Clockwork Woman. He's a musky metallic ozone and I love him! Verdict: Galvanic Goggles is divine. I'm discovering that I'm a fiend for this steamstuff, and this scent didn't disappoint! Makes me long for more leather-metal scents.

Purchased from Babypopje! In imp: Lemongrass gummy-bears-lime-hazelnut-what?? Watch out, we've got a morpher! On skin: Lemongrass coconut peach mumblemumble but it's wonderful! I feel fresh fruity and pretty. Not exactly the amorphous beast I would have imagined. Drydown: Rose soap?? What on earth. VERDICT: VERY weird! But I LOVE IT. I'll need to take more time to really admire the nuances in this perfume but holy cow!
