ink heavy! and I agree with those above - cucumber/melon I get a beautiful leather too but underneath and not in every sniff mostly it's the cucumber melon then the ink I confused and a bit sad the leather isn't more dominant, but it is an interesting blend - just not right for me
-
quick sniff of good notes - I thought this was going to be a winner.....then immediately turns to an almost soapy version of the notes (like a smokey soapy mix) and it hangs very light/close to skin.
-
on me this is soft - not a strong throw I get cherry, then a sugary/apricot leather? maybe some pepper/vetiver? but mainly it's a soft cherry and leather that's really the best of both -- neither being too strong and the cherry not being too syrupy unfortunately this creates a BURNING sensation on my skin :@&*$!:
-
*sigh* starts great - an initial wiff of cinnamon that fades to a background spice, overall smooth, soft, warm...no note stands out then, within an hour, cloys I can't pinpoint the culprit note or notes, but turns a bit sickly. *sniffs again* (sour leather maybe?) If I sniff through that I think I still pick up a few good notes, but I shall be swapping this for something that loves my chemistry more.

Very sweet. Lots of cherry and leather at first. But it's a nice sweet cherry, not syrupy. I get some tonka too as it wears the cherry dies down some and it turns more suede and vanilla with a hint of cherry leather, stays sweet I plan on trying it again before making up my mind. I wish there was less cherry, but I kinda like the sweet

WOW very cypruss - very x-masy! there is cinnamon and incense NO leather after a bit, it turns a bit "dryer sheet" on me and loses the cinnamon

the mix of tonka and dragon's blood turns sickly sweet (sort of a cherry-almond-db) amid pencil shavings that are very blackened to top it off, it turns soapy on me *sigh*

this is definitely one for the vetiver lovers! and wow is it gorgeous! I definitely need more in the imp: vetiver dominant with a muddled mix of the other notes. hard to pick them out distinctly except maybe the currant on my skin: vetiver with a touch of fruity current and the musk and amber come out much more! and I can pick out the patch but it fades to the bottom of the mix. At first, I don't get any carnation that I can tell, but then it wraps itself around the vetiver like they were meant to be together.- 16 replies

In the imp: heavy cacao and clove, then vanilla-amber, current, maybe red musk. No patch. No leather. wet: very nice, current and cacao mostly, layered over musk, amber and tobacco dry: a musky fruity scent? really, I can't pick out any particular notes after it's been on a few minutes. but it smells nice I guess? It's also fading away in general, so it's hard to pick it up. If it didn't fade away from what it smells like wet it would be wonderful, and the first cacao scent to really work on me..but it just doesn't have the staying power that I like sadly, no leather ever shows up

first impression: Vicks vapor rub- ALMOST (some BPAL nails that note imo) also almost xmas pine but not exactly it really smells like something I would expect in a xmas candle lol only a touch more medicine-y yeah, not a keeper for me.

red musk wrapped in the fougere initially there's a sharp herbal note. that settles pretty quickly to have less sharpness/bite but is still there mandarine comes out a bit more after it's been on for a few minutes and any hints of the fougere dies down a very nice blend..I wish it had a bit less herbs and a bit more lavender

wow! very apple. very crisp sweet apple champaca and tobacco strong, but not as strong as the apple note it's also very "white" and floral - too clean and fresh for me *edit though it didn't work for me, I left it on. After several minutes (less than 30 I think?), the apple dies down, the tobacco and champaca, vanilla, and honey come out more. also starts to cloy, so still not for me.

oudh and the leaves ..and "brown"...almost spice...not really leather *few minutes later* yup - definitely more "foody" than "leathery" no lavender unless it's just a slight tinge to it it's not what I expected, but it's not bad. I don't normally do foodie scents (hoggle being the exception...which shares 2 notes with this)

A Holy Man Advises a Woman to Invoke Mary Against a Devil

very soft, but not faint at arms's length this just smells soapy on me (and from past experience that's more a 'my body chemistry' thing than something particular to the blend) - almost a detergent lol but up close, with a long sniff, I can pick out a nice mix of the first four notes it's a nice blend, but no leather but I only got a 1/2 imp because I anticipated it would be more "white" than "leather" like others have said, this is almost a pretty spring scent, but depending on the throw per person it could be a nice snuggly winter scent- 12 replies

sadly this turns soapy with my skin chemistry, but even in the imp it's more aftershave than leather i get some berry, some incense, and some moss
-
I pretty much try everything BPAL does with leather (unless it has any rose notes in it which are death notes on me, and I *still* can't resist trying some of them lol) I too get a sharp, peppery note, almost citrusy, almost powdery really hugs my skin after 30-40 min even softer. the sharpness is mostly gone, but I also can't pick out any notes in particular, just a vague "incense-y" with a hint of the sharpness no leather

makes me think of The Sea Rat at first ... wood, kinda salty(?)/sharp, herbs but when I try them side by side, this one is obviously sharper, more mediciney, and has black pepper too, maybe a touch of honey -
in the imp- cologne. and immediate on my skin. then...Sweet? Herbal? hard to place on top of the cologne and then it turns to soapy musk which is a little sickly
-
very light and sweet, wood, beeswax, yellow and biting in a soft way
-
in the imp - sweet tarts lol on skin - sweet tarts and vicks (vapor rub) and cedar yeah...so it's sweet and tangy and kind of mediciney
-
in short - too perfumy and not enough leather for me to keep. the longer I wear it, the more the leather comes out, always tempered by a sweet grass/cedar note and something that can only be described as "perfumy"
-
very pepper, warm, thick spice (thickly sticking in the back of my throat), smoky, vetiver laces through, tobacco brightens it a little reminds me of heavily spiced cooking pits let it fully dry down and it's a really nice smoky vetiver with a pepper/cooking spice kick I don't think I need more, but I'm middling on vetiver - not crazy about it / must have, but sometimes it's very nice on me

dry vanilla mint with sage, very clean and plasticy -
mainly oranges/mandarin with some peppermint and laurel/juniper/sage there's a sweetness to the oranges that's also almost herbal it's unusual but nice, but you need to like orange/mandarin
-
strong mint, lavender?, juniper, sage and more corriander is an odd spice, but still works the mix is something that can help relax (even though it may not seem like it on first sniff - and it will open your sinuses), but with how strong it is, I would save it for when you really need it. or get the bath oil and have it diluted with a tub of water for a couple drops lol
