In the bottle: Warm milk. It reminds me of heating milk on the stove to make rice pudding. When the milk is just warm enough to stir in the rice, but not hot enough to boil...that smell. Heavy, sticky fig/date note is also present. I notice some sweet Welch's white grape but it is very faint. I expected the over-powering BPAL honey note, but it is absent. Wet: Yum! Sweet, comforting, smooth and warm. I'm noticing what might be pomegranate - a little astringent, but it cuts through the "stickiness" and rounds out the scent nicely. Dry: Mellows quickly. This may be a skin chemistry thing, as I tend to burn off sweet scents rapidly. I can see how this could be cloying if sweetness amps or linger on your skin. I'm in a cloud of nondescript, creamy, sweetness. Later : 2+ hours. This fades very, very quickly on me. Slightly tangy sour milk-y smell on my skin is all that s left. Verdict: When Milk Moon is first applied it is lovely. The warm blend of milk, grain and sweet fruits is balanced nicely with the tart grape. However, I need to either bathe in it, or add it to moisturizer. Something. The "milky" scents like Alice and Sudha Segara don't last on me at all. Note: I did manage to spill most of my bottle on my bathroom floor, where it promptly soaked into the tile and scented the room nicely for a month. Also, on a morning I wore this, the train conductor (female) asked me what I was wearing. She thought it was incredible. The only other time a random stranger has asked about my perfume, I was wearing The Candy Butcher. I should just accept that I need to wear the gourmand/foody scents.

In the bottle: Apples! Juicy, tart, cider-y apple though. Not the sweet, BBW "Country Apple" smell. Wet: The cranberries come to the front, with lovely fruity, but not too sweet, sparkle. Dry: Mellows quickly. I notice a bit of the "floral" some others have mentioned, but it is a passing phase. Very nice. Later : The fresh apple fades to a more spicy cranberry/cider scent. The scent reminds me of the taste of spiced cider. This is autumn in New England. Verdict: I really love this! I think this is the best autumn apple smell I've found so far. Its fresh, bright and very natural.

I'm not sure what is wrong with t3andcrumpets, but I have the same issue! On to the review: In the Imp: Possibly the most gorgeous amber gold oils I've seen in a long while. Smells spicy and woody. Wet: Ack! Stinky patchouli dirt! I have the same gagging feeling I got with Alone. Passes quickly. Dry: Mellows quickly. The cedar becomes predominant, which I like, but it burns of in lass than half an hour. The sandalwood/myrhh is soft, woody, rich and not at all soapy on me. Very nice. Later (2-4h): WTF? Florals? I have a faint, but definite "golden floral" going on. I keep asking people to sniff me. Unless they get very close, they all tell me "sweet and flower-y". A bit of cedar/sandalwood on my skin. The patchouli is gone, baby, gone. Verdict: Interesting. I don't think I'd get a bottle (unless it was a swap) since it fades so quicky and them morphs into a floral weirdness. I might want to try playing with it in body oil, though. Still searching for that ideal sandalwood. . .

Have you tried Undertow? Mint, lotus and juniper. I never expected to like it, but I tried it recently & am quite entranced by it.

Wow, I feel bad about how much I laughed at that! If it makes you feel better, I once had to collect my erm..feces..for 72hr. Every day, I had to drop the little plastic cubby with the biohazard sticker at the lab. The staff was so nice, but how could I not feel totally mortified to hand over a cooler with poo in it? (Yup...had to be refrigerated. Blech)

Trying to mow my way through untested imps. I gave Spellbound a try since today since it seems like the sort of thing I shouldn't wear to work. In the Bottle: It's thicker and darker than even Snake Oil! I smell sweetness, but no definite rose. This one definitely stains my skin, though. Wet: Mmmm...musk, mostly, but a warm, not feral musk. Sweet, but not sugary like Snake Oil. Still no strong rose/floral scent, which is just fine with me Dry: Much more mellow after about a hour. The amber is more noticable dry, which is awesome, since I love amber and amber loves me. Still sweet, but not cloying, Did I mention sexy? Very, very sexy, but not at all flashy or sleazy. More of a confident sensuallity. I am in love Verdict: Why did I wait so long to try this? Must be my fear of florals. I really love how the rose balance out the musk/amber notes so that noneof them are too overwhelming. A keeper!

I was torn on trying this one. I love fruity scents, especially peach, but I can't do most florals. Still, Zombi convinced me that rose isn't necessarily evil, so I gave my imp a try. In Bottle: I smell melon and a light rose, fairly equally. Very wet smelling, but chilly. Wet: Hello, melon! Some floral as well, but not overpowering. Dry: Per usual, my skin gobbles up the floral as quickly as it appears. Most a soft fruity scent. Very pretty and cheerful, but a little icy, which is quite "me" actually. I definitely smell some pear now, but the peach isn't as strong as Imp or Agalea. Much, much later: This one definitely has staying power! Luckily it doesn't turn "sour" as fruity scents are apt to do (BBW Raspberry body spray makes me smell like spoiled beer after 3 hours). Verdict: I really really like this. It's feminine, fun and not too exotic for my incredibly uptight office. I do think I would need to re-apply for best results, 'cause the floral notes, while lovely, completely dissapear on me.

Ritual disclaimer: I don't get along with piney/astringent/herbal scents. I really hesitated to buy this, but, well, the lunacy set in. Plus the label is beautiful. In the bottle: Holy pine! Very fresh and cold but not astringent. Wet: Sweet juicy fruity-ness tempers the pine. Dry: It is still very pungent. Not bitter like Hemlock, though. I am noticing the minty/melon of the other Lunar blends I've tried breaking through. Later: I smell like fresh pine the next morning. This has saying power plus! Final words: I swear I don't "get" this scent yet. I had a lot of people sniffing me the night I wore it, so it definitely is a head turner. No one but me could smell pine. It certainly wasn't an acrid or Lysol-like pine, but a rich sweetness of a pine forest. Snow Moon is so unusual though, I can't really classify it easily. This one is truly unique.

I got this one as a frimp in my Snow Moon order. Since my skin normally gobbles florals, I don't normally order them. In the imp : A baby-powder sweet white floral. A hint of creaminess which reminds me a bit of Alice. Wet: A touch of citrus. This is very, very light. I'm thinking it might layer nicely. Dry: There is a rich white floral scent. I have no idea what oleander smells like, but this is somewhere between jasmine and honeysuckle, as others have mentioned. Plus something that reminds me of baby-wash. The scent is still light, but it hasn't morphed into the nose-itchy "powdery" scent that florals usually become on me. Later: I'm in the grocery store and I begin to notice a whiff of -- patchouli following me. I like this...the patchouli seems to help the staying power of the scent without going all "dirty hippy" on me. Final words: I think I found a floral that actually hangs out on my skin for more than ten minutes without evaporating or turning to baby powder. I might actually add this to my unscented body oil for a subtle hint of fragrance. Worst of all, I'm beginning to really like these patchouli blends. Damn you, BPAL!

A hectic, frenzied pinpoint in desolation: booming, bleak, and dark with the horror of loneliness and reluctant solitude. Patchouli and cardamom with bright mandarin, labdanum, muguet, red sandalwood, angelica and gardenia. First up, big to that decanting fool, OriginalWacky This is only the third Demon I've tried. It is the first one I've has a strong reaction to, so it is the first review. In the imp : Decaying dirt! Must be the patchouli and a dusty bark scent (sandalwood?) Oh dear, this is awful... Wet: I am actually trying not to retch. The heavy loam-y scent is oppressive. I've never had such a visceral response to a frickin' perfume before. Dry: Hey! What's going on here? The heavy patchouli just faded away! I get whiffs of it, but it certainly isn't overbearing. I have a light, sweet spicy-ness emanating from my pores. I feel...exotic. Later[/bpal]: There is definitely still a floral sweetness, tempered with a touch of cardamom. I can't even believe this is the same stuff. Final words: Wow! After a rocky start, turns out I love this. I'm totally amazed at what Beth did here. This certainly isn't a scent for everyone, but I'm loving the spicy earthyness combined with floral sweetness. Plus, I now know what labdanum and muguet are.

My very first review, y'all! I must be inspired. I was so transfixed by the description of this oil that I just went ahead and bought a bottle. I think this was overcompensation for never ordering a bottle of Three Witches. In the Bottle: Ginger hits me the hardest, like sucking on a ginger Altoid. Then the pepper (strong!) and some cinnamon. Wet: Wow! The cinnamon has really turned it up a notch! The other scents are almost totally overpowered, to my nose. Also, some pinkness on the skin patch I applied it to. Dry: Much more mellow after about 40 min. The cinnamon fades away to blend with the tea and ginger. There is a hint of sweetness (honey?) but not at all cloying. The pepper tones the sweet down nicely. The scent is now more warm like a nice cup of chai, than a cinnamon "red hot." Much, much later: At the end of the day, I was followed by a trail of musk, tea and spice. Very pleasant. Many scents fade away on me leaving only musk (my skin soaks up musk like a sponge), but this has a nice residual sweet/spicy mix. Hellcat is the only other BPAL oil I've found that work likes this on me. Verdict: Yup, I like it. Bunches. In terms of a scent, I'd call it Djinn's sophisticated sister. I never got the clove that I miss from my beloved Three Witches, but an awesome blend in its own right.
