Whoa baby, banana cream pudding is what I get at first, followed by crsipy apples, with a sprinkle of something spicy. So sweet and yummy. The banana fades somewhat, but this retains that wonderful sweetness. Delicious without being overwhelmingly foody, somehow. It's tropical without being stereotypical. Really like this.

All sweet and juicy honeydew in the opening notes, that bounty recedes slightly to offer up the crisper and cooler aroma of grapes (which makes me think of apples, somehow). I'm loving this part. Then this loses much of that fruity sweetness and becomes something even cooler, green and a little sharp. Ah...the mosses. This is my less favorite part. Still it is an interesting and evocative scent, making me think of lazy summer snacking under the coolness of some slumberous, water-logged tree.

This smells like the best lotion in the world. It's creamy, sweet, just a touch powdery. The honey in this is very light, and there's a faint greenish floral at the edges of this (my boyfriend says rose and I think he may be right). It's very clean-smelling, whatever it is. Overall, this seems like a milder, more virginal version of Honey Moon.

In the bottle, this was creamy decadence. Let's try it out. Aaaaannnnnd we have....dust. *cries* Still dust. *cries more* Faint suggestion of sugary....no. Wait. Dust. *wails* Is that sandalwood? Maybe? At the edges? *perks up* Sort of a sweetish and very very VERY dry sandalwood. This, ladies and gentlemen, is when I officially decide to get a scent locket.

Scent: Lemony and almost herbal at first, drying down to a slightly powdered, creamy honey lemon. It kind of reminds me of Fee Verte with the tiniest touch of Morella. I don't know what the latter commonality might be, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was a teeny drop of civet in this - I think that might be where the powder note is coming from. Or not. Function: I got a free lunch from my manager and the possibility of another, better paying job. Good start! I think I'll devote a little more ritual energy to this one before wearing it next time, and see what happens.

No civet. That was going to be the deal-breaker for me, and I am happy to report that the civet note is undetectable. The blend itself is a very clean and almost powdery sort of scent - the first few minutes actually made me think of Numb, though not as sweet. It softens and becomes more 'neutral' as it dries, losing the floral edge (which actually makes it more enjoyable for me). In some ways it reminds me of Dirty, in that it smells like clean skin wrapped in fresh, laundry-scented sheets. It's more wearble for me, however, since it doesn't have that ozone note that tends to render those clean scents too masculine on me. It's developping a lovely and subtle second-skin musky quality. This is really growing on me.

No coffee, vanilla, or tonka. This is a faded jasmine and rose, a little powdery, weighted down by the wood. Not unpleasant, but not exciting. Meh.

There is a tickle of sweetness in this, like walking by a garden, with the soft smell of fowers on the breeze, and that underlay of earth and greenery. It's actually a lot nicer than I was expecting, and I get no hint of alcohol of any sort, just that fresh garden smell. The moss note is a little too much for, as far as perfume goes. It's a very evocative scent, but unfortunately it's not a scent I can wear. Lovely, but for someone else.

Delight mixed with Jezabel is actually quite reminiscent of Khajuraho, especially when they are applied to different arms and the combined waft hits you.

I'm so incredibly bad at telling florals apart, especially fragipani, jasmine and tuberose - they all smell sort of similar to me. This is a rich, very sweet, slightly sharp sort of floral. It's a very mature and lush sort of scent, like a southern belle past her youth but just entering her dangerous prime. I'm kinda surprised that this is growing on me.

Sweet and soft in the opening notes, as the fruit notes and the cocoa dominate. But then the woods emerge and take over. Not as unpleasant as cedar tends to be on me, but it does smell a little too much like furniture for my liking.

I think I posted this in the "Anyone tried it?" thread, but my imp of Hamadryad did a serious toothpaste-mint thing, and then faded into oakmoss.

This is so awesome! At first, I'm getting a lovely mix of lemon, herbs and vaquely musky vanilla. I think if I was wearing a softer version of Dorian and chewing on one of those Ricola honey-herb lozanges, it would smell a little bit like this. The herbs and citrus fade, and I'm left with a very soft, honey sweetened vanilla. The musk is there, but it is so much softer than Dorian. FOr some reason, this is really making me think of Switzerland. Maybe it's that original Ricola connotation. But it just smells like a romanticized version of a Swiss milkmaid - herbal freshness, sweet honey and creaminess, and clean skin.

After several months of steady (one might say obsessive) BPALing, I find I'm still learning what really works well on me. And surprisingly...dark musk is GORGEOUS. This is initially a little sharp, with the woodsy bite of the sandalwood. Wet, it smells strongly of burning incense. I don't get any plum outright. On drydown, it gets much softer and sweeter as the flowers start popping up and the musk emerges. At that point is a rich, and somewhat powdery spicy-sweetness. Really quite nice, but I wonder at the depth that will emerge with aging. We'll see in a few months.

They usually label at a lower value (5 or 10$). They are sent in those video boxes, so I think that would be parcel.

Golden Priapus. The combination of amber and vanilla bake it extra-sweet, rich and resiny, and the woods give it a wonderful depth. It doesn't have outright spice, but the amber kicks it up a notch. And I think it would probably be awesome layered with Morocco. As soon as my Morocco comes in I will be testing that theory.

Very odd....I get the same toothpaste-mint sort of smell from this that I initially got from Hamadryad. My nose is definately reading something woody in both of them as minty. This dries through a somewhat camphorous stage into a wet wood sort of smell. Overall it is very very faint. Odd, not unpleasant, rather unique but ultimately not to my taste.

Erm...my dad's cologne? Really, I'm not getting any pineapple or fruitiness in this. It has that classic sort of cologne shape to it, this mix of herbal-floral notes, with a jolt of something breezy and a little sweet and that underlayer of musk. It's nice, but not me.

Baby, where have you been hiding yourself? I love citrus notes, I adore musk and lilac is one of the few florals that I can handle without any qualms. This hits all three and does it without messing up its pretty little coat. This is the ultimate spring scent, just so light and fresh and grounded by that clean yet sexy musk. There is an old-fashioned quality to this, which I think is due both to the lilac (who's grandma didn't wear lilac or bring in lilac bunches into the house in spring?) and the sort of classic "men's cologne" composition, circa 18th-19th century. In comparison to a lot of old-fashioned type blends, this one doesn't ick me out because 1) it doesn't go to powder and 2) it has a balance of both feminine and masculine connotations. I really like this one.

I'm getting lemongrass and a generally syrupy sort of incense note. Is there frankincense in this? There's something in this that reminds me a bit of Shub - perhaps they share a component. I can't say I really like this one that much. It's too sweet, and something in it is pitching a tent high in my nose. I think I will have to retry this at some point, but for now I'm not feeling the love.

An epithet of the Morrigan, crow-winged Celtic goddess of war, strife and fertility. Adoration of this Goddess is expressed both through the ecstasy of battle lust and the ecstasy of sexual regeneration. Black orchid, apple blossom, meadowsweet, and rue over Irish moss, hawthorn and red clover. This is for the Morrigan? Somehow I was expecting something with more blood and smoke. It is a nice, faintly green floral. I can almost catch a bit of apple at the edges. I'm not nuts about florals and most green scents unless they're combined with either something musky, incensy or foody. Both together, it just registers as "meh" for me. EDIT: And also, ewwww...MOSS.

Truck stop sleaze. Weedy dandelion and hops with a whiff of tobacco and hemp and a swirl of booziness. I get a really interesting green note, not quite grassy and...beer? Something yeasty and a little bitter. I don't know that I would wear this as perfume (a little too green for me), but man does it ever evoke a strong sensory memory. This is totally the smell of hanging out at the end of a warm summer day in someone's backyard, drinking pilfered beer. I get no sleazy quality to this at all...it's just innocent and hedonistic and cheery.

Red musk really is fantastic on me. This is just gorgeous. A faintly spicy musk that fades seamlessly into my skin. I really can't elaborate more on it. It's not complex at all, just this second-skin scent that amps up my natural body chemistry to a wonderfully sexy level without being in any way obnoxious about it. Pretty close to perfect.

This one was just WEIRD. Toothpaste-mint when wet, which was actually not unpleasant though highly surprising. I was expecting something dry and somewhat spicy to begin with, and my skin tend to eat mint up within minutes. And then...the oakmoss. There must be oakmoss in this, because I get that nausea-inducing powdered-acrid note that is on my personal hit list (along with ylang-ylang and lotus). Definately a swap.
