    Two, Five & Seven

This was a lovely frimp from Finny. I haven't tried Persephone so I can't compare. On me, this smelled like a ton of roses and juicy pear, except that sometimes, the smell of roses makes my stomach feel queasy (I've had this happen with rosewater). I really liked whichever note had what smelled like juicy pear, but the scent eventually morphed to something resembling a scented dryer sheet, so I won't be buying a big bottle, although this was fun to try.

    Midway

I'm so relieved I like this scent since I bought it without trying it out (my first BPAL bottle ever!). That said, the first time I put it on, it mainly smelled like dough with a slight scent of frying oil, and Play-Doh. The next time I decided I needed to put more on. I got the dough and frying oil again, but eventually, the scent bloomed into something really fruity that I couldn't put my finger on (looking at the description now though, I think it must have been the candied apple) and it was delicious! Within two hours, the scent faded and now I'm left with remnants of sugar and/or caramel, which is not a bad thing, but I'm surprised by how quickly the scent disappeared. But it could also be a good thing, because it means I'll definitely finish my bottle.

    O

I couldn't figure out what this smelled like while it was wet, while it dried, or after the scent morphed a bit. And after reading the description and previous reviews, I'm still a bit befuddled. I can definitely smell some honey, possibly tempered by vanilla, but I'm not smelling the amber (which I was really looking forward to)-- I associate amber with a warm smell, but what I'm smelling smells almost green, if that's possible, and I don't know what it could be (I don't associate the smell of sex with green, do you?). After having my husband sniff, he looked puzzled and sniffed a few times, then announced: "Baby powder, that's what it smells like." And he looked very proud of himself. This was interesting to try, but I'm not going to buy a big bottle of it.

    Snake Oil

Is it possible that Snake Oil has an ingredient similar to Scherezade? Because they both have the same, incensey note (although the one in Snake Oil is softer than the one in Scherezade, again, at least on me). So I think that accounts for the Indonesian oils, but I didn't really notice sugared vanilla-- no sugar, no vanilla. After perusing through others' reviews, I think my skin is atypical; of the three scents I've tried that are supposed to have vanilla (Dorian, O and Snake Oil), I haven't smelled very much. I suppose it could be tempering the other notes and I'm sure that without the vanilla, the scent would smell different, but I can't pick out the vanilla note. This one I would almost wear again, but my search is going to continue.

    Roadhouse

On me, Roadhouse was all weeds and beer, which was very interesting, but not necessarily what I want to smell like. Props to Beth though, for coming up with this scent--it's very unique.

    Eos

I have an idea of what jasmine and honeysuckle smell like, but that's not what I smelled when I put Eos on, although to be fair, I have no idea what buttercup smells like. My skin did not react to this scent very well; what I got was a fake-floral scent (sadly, very artificial). And when I woke up the next morning, I had a huge, red welt where I'd applied the oil. I won't be buying a big bottle of this and I probably won't be using up the imp either.

    Sudha Segara

Upon first application, the scent I get is strong ginger and . . . bug repellant? I don't detect any milk or honey. As the scent wears, I get the carbonation of ginger ale, but still, no milk or honey, which is too bad, because the description sounds lovely. I may use up my imp, but I probably won't buy a whole bottle.

    Dorian

Initially I was overwhelmed with lemon; a little bit later I could discern a bit of tea, but the lemon was so strong I could understand why someone would mention Lemon Pledge, although it still smelled kind of yummy. Half an hour later, the musk came out and it was heavenly! This is a gorgeous scent, very sexy in a velvet sledgehammer type of way. I *think* I can't smell the sugar or vanilla, but with whatever my nose and brain are registering, I'm not missing it. This is going on the big bottle list.
