    Jupiterian Phoenix

Tried this on my husband... Had all his preferred notes: sasparilla, cedar, pine... It smelled amazing wet; a sweet, yet dry forest. We could detect all the notes except for the clove. But dry it turned into Listerine and cologne. Reminded me very much of the Mad Hatter, in fact. I'm sorry this one didnt work out. I'm assuming it was the hyssop. ETA: the scent faded into something barely sweet after just 15 min. Not very lasting.

    Mother Ginger

I am a huge foodie fan, so this scent sounded like a dream come true. Unfortunately, not so much. Wet it smelled sharp, lemony, with bright fresh ginger... changing and morphing depending on where I put my nose (strange!). I liked it though despite it's sharp smell because I could tell there was something warmer waiting. Shortly after, the vanilla and sugar began to emerge and it was wonderful... for about 2 minutes. Then it went all musk/amber-ish; almost masculine. It smelled like an expensive department store perfume or cologne. Now an hour in, it reminds me of "old lady" perfume because of how powdery and sweet it turned. Lots of vanilla, lots of sweet, but there is a definite "normal" perfume smell. Plus, not much ginger. I'd say it almost smells like Opium mixed with Old Spice. I wanted so much to like it, but it just smells "too common". In fact when my husband got home from work I had to quickly explain to him it was a new BPAL he was smelling on me and some guy's cologne!

    The Antikythera Mechanism

I tried this on my husband as I thought this would work on a man nicely. So this review is based on that perspective. Wet: Delicious. Masculine vanilla, pipe tobacco, wood. Dry: Play-Doh. So sad. Then it just turns to baby powder. Bottom line: This had so potential. Aging it a few months might help.

    The Grave-Pig

I tried this on my husband as I thought this would work on a man nicely. So this review is based on that perspective. Wet: Earthy and sweet with a very light patchouli (husband amps patchouli too!). The fig is fruity and earthy. The mushroom has a nice dirt scent. The oakmoss is sweet and dusty. Delicious blend. Dry: More fruity. Lost most of the earthy, dirt smell. Still good though. Just more like a darker fig. Missing: Nothing! All notes are well represented at least wet. Bottom line: Unique scent on a guy. Definitely not ultra-masculine, but good just the same. It's a keeper! It'd be even better on a woman who preferred heavier scents. As an aside I find it interesting that all the reviews of this scent are similar. That seems like a good sign; BPAL combined the oils in this blend just perfectly no matter whose nose is smelling it!

Hello, Loves Baby Soft Lemon!!! (Actually called Loves Fresh Lemon) Wet: Fresh and sweet. Creamy from the frankincense. So lemony! I also get the green from the verbena and the lavender. Really nice wet. Yum! Dry: Baby powder-y, very lemony. Too(?) lemony! Is that possible? Wish there was more of the fresh notes left. Missing: Rosemary, neroli. Bottom line: Nice blend, just not for me at least when dry. Perfect for someone who likes baby powder and lemon.

I tried this on my husband as I thought this would work on a man nicely. So this review is based on that perspective. Wet: Seems a bit too feminine for a man, slightly banana-y, strong scent of musk, rum, and the typical "ocean" scent which smells a bit like clean laundry detergent. Dry: More masculine, more cologne-y. Like a Cool Water type. Missing: No gunpowder, patchouli (husband amps patchouli too!), sarsaparilla. Bottom line: Nice blend. Great for a guy if he likes aquatic colognes. Good for a girl who likes complex fresh scents. Tombstone's pretty much Holy Grail for my husband, so this one, unfortunately, goes in the sell pile.
