  1. I ordered on 2/26 and paid with paypal, then I emailed the lab to give them my email address (i forgot it in the comments) and they said on March 1: Hi Bree, Thank you for contacting us! For future reference, Paypal is now including email addresses on orders again. Whew! We appreciate your continued patronage, Bree! Sincerely, Bill Customer Service BPAL

Itasô Kansei Nenkan Jorô No Fûzoku

In the imp, this is mostly green. Like cut stems. Not really great to my nose, but I wanted to give it a fair shot. This completely changes once it's on my skin. Now it's very floral (the flower part, not the stem) with a sweetness behind it. The sweetness is more the honey on my nose, not the sugarcane. I also get a hint of something fruity, like apples. This would definitely be a wonderful summer scent. I'm just not completely sold on it. It is beautiful, but nothing strikes me as amazing. 3/5 stars and I'd potentially be on the lookout for a partial bottle.

    Hollyberry & Mistletoe

Green, piney, spicy, very Christmas-y. Smells very strong like a Chrismas Glade candle. I wouldn't mind as a room fragrance but would never wear this as a perfume.

    Humbug

I do not like licorice, so I was worried about this, but it is really nice. I expected a strong anise like I got in Pink Mood but it wasn't at all. It was really delicate. And the vanilla is so creamy. I think it can get a little playdoh-y, but it seems like with age it would be really nice. I'm a huge vanilla fan and since that is the most prominent note, I would risk the playdoh to keep trying this.

    Three Gorgons

I bought the imp pack for Salon II so that's how I got this. I probably wouldn't have purchased it otherwise. I try to stay away from vetiver but I'll give it a chance since I do have it. I'm not really getting anything that the others seem to mention. I think it's the Egyptian amber that I smell strongly and I don't really like it. I usually like amber though. It smells like an old woman's baby powder. So it's not straight up baby powder, it's a more regal kinda. It's very perfume-y to me. No citrus, no pepper, no tobacco. It's almost creamy. VERY strong. Too much for me and i'm usually one that can't get enough. Stays pretty strong even after an hour of wear. I'd expect it to last long on me.

    Mata Hari

Roses and vanilla are two of my favorite notes. Though I missed this one on my first venture into BPAL, it eventually found it's way to me. Unfortunately, on first sniff from the imp, I would have put this in the swap bin. But hopefully we all know to give it at least a test on the skin before doing that. In the imp, it smells really weird. I get the roses, but it's weird roses. Like chemical roses. blech. I took a risk and put it all over before work. Going on wet I still get that chemical sniff. I think it's just a generic perfume-y scent. But in the background I get the roses, so this is shaping up nicely. I don't know what notes I amp yet, but the rose comes out strong in this one. It takes a bit before some creaminess comes out as the vanilla makes a presence. It only lasted about 3 hours on me. At that point, it was very faint roses and some faint vanilla (never in the same sniff though, weird). I'm adding this to my rose death match battle though I'm not completely in love with this one as I am other roses, so I don't think it will fare too well. 3/5 stars.

    Hetairae

In the imp, it smells very much just honey alone. Maybe a little more of the sweetness of fig in it. On the skin, more patchouli comes out but just a bit to add in some spicy herbals. This wasn't love at first smell for me. I liked it enough but that was it. Going to give it 3/5 stars. But after wearing it all day, I'm liking it more and more. It's sweet, it's sexy, it's light and feminine. I think it's a good everyday scent, but also could be dressed up for a romantic date. Throw and lasting-power are both pretty medium. Decent, but I'd like a bit more from both. In the end, this might end up being a bottle purchase for me. Bumping it up to 4/5.

    Marquise de Merteuil

Stately, bold, aristocratic and cruel. Opulent galbanum and amber, glistening peach, and a bouquet of French florals, with a merciless undertone of jonquil and heartless vetiver. I don't know how I got this one. It looks used and must have come as a frimp somewhere down the line. While I love peaches, I probably skipped this one because of the vetiver, which I hate. This is peaches and amber and then comes the floral. I wish the peach was a little heavier, but I do really like this scent. It is a little of the fancy perfume smell, but the peach makes it a little more special. I would wear this any time of year for a special dinner or date night.

    The Robotic Scarab

Got a small sniffie of this and decided it would be best on my husband. In the imp, it's mostly leather and the incense-y of frankincense. I didn't get much different from him on his skin. It's pretty sexy on him but not sure what he thinks. I think I might get an imp and let him try it out a few more times before deciding if he should get a bottle.

    La Mort Qui Danse

Pepper and Lily. A really interesting blend. The pepper is strong in the imp and on wet, but the lily comes out more once dry on the skin. I'm a fan of lily, so I like this blend, but unfortunately it doesn't last very long. It's very light, which I think is good in this case. Light like a thin cotton sun dress. There's nothing that really screams to me that i need to own a bottle of this, though. I'd probably like to hang on to the imp.

    Smut

Smut '10 I think this needs a death match between O or Snake Oil. Let the sexiest survive! On my skin, they are very similar. I do get more of a boozy, almost cherry, hint when it's on wet, but that dies down/nearly disappears upon dry down. Then it's all musky. Throw is pretty good and it lasts an average amount. It is definitely very sexy. It almost puts me in the mood just smelling it. I think this will be a bottle purchase to potentially age. I've read that some of the sugar comes out more with aging.

The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil

Bourbon vanilla, benzoin, caramel, Mysore sandalwood, aged black patchouli, carnation, and iris florentina. Yum! Yes to bourbon vanilla and caramel. Those are the two most prominent scents. If I try hard i could probably pick out a little herbal or floral but it's way in the background for me. Husband commented on it as I walked by this morning saying he liked it. It reminds me a little like Agrat-Bat-Mahlat, only that one is much more creamy. This one is more boozy. I may need to slather this a bit more because I feel like it fades fast and isn't all that strong to begin with. On the other hand, foody scents that are too strong can really overpower, so maybe this is perfect. This imp is a keeper and potentially up for a death match to see if I get a bottle.

    Cottonmouth

This may be the first snake pit that I like. I'm a fan of lily, so that could be it, but honestly, I can't really pick out the individual floral notes of this. It's sexy, but innocent. A springtime or summer scent. Has a bit of a suntan lotion smell. I'll be seeking out a full imp of this and potentially get a bottle before the pit goes away.

    Lady Lilith

I thought I was crazy but I looked back over the reviews and there are at least 4 others that agree with me. This is very much like Mme. Moriarty. It's just a little sweeter, younger...like her daughter (major lulz). Like the Madame, I couldn't really describe this scent. Very well blended. Tea and mandarin are notes I can pick out. I really want to find a bottle.

    Blood

Definitely a "husky" scent. Lots of incense. A little bit of cherry. Smells like maybe something earthy...like clay. And yes, that metallic twinge that is a little bit like actual blood. I don't wear scents that smell like incense. If that is your type, I think you'd love this. I'm a foody, fruity, floral type so this just isn't for me (but it doesn't smell bad to me, just not my style).

    Tamora

I'm a big peach and vanilla fan so I thought this showed some promise. It smells a little weird in the imp. Maybe it's just a little too strong but that dies down once it's on. The peach and sandalwood mix nice together. Usually sandalwood turns to baby powder on me, but not in this blend. It's light and beachy. I think the throw could better and I don't recall it lasting that long. This will have to go in a death match with my other peach scents before I decide which one is the best. It is definitely a contender, though.

    Crib Girls

Sweet with slight lemon in the imp. Once it goes on, the lemon comes out much more. I get the lemon pledge but it tones down a bit later and then...i agree...Fruit Loops. So bizarre. Sweet, but not really sexy. Not what I had hoped for, and if i had read these reviews and saw the lemon, I wouldn't have been interested. Who didn't get excited seeing 7 different honeys. This might be hit or miss if you are a honey fan.

    Lilith Victoria

I have not tried Dorian yet so I can't speak on that front, but I definitely get the spices from Snake Oil in this. But overall, this smells like baby skin to me. And I'm totally not being swayed by the fact that it's in honor of a baby. Babies smell good. I think this is just innocent and young and not really my style. The lavendar doesn't come out for me until after the dry down and even then it's not that strong. Overall, gorgeous scent, but not one I'd wear.

    Snowblind

Hard to rate this too low because it smells so darn good, but it's just not a smell i want to wear as perfume. This is creamy mint chocolate chip ice cream. it's not crappy quality mints. This is the good stuff. Very fresh, light, creamy. Not too strong on the mint that it makes you cringe a little. I seriously just want to eat it! I only had a tester so maybe someday I'll get an imp and wear it for a day. It's just not a scent I would normaly do that for, so that gives this one bonus points.

    Phantasm

I got this as frimp as none of the notes really appeal to me. it's very lemon-y and smells very fresh and clean. unfortunately, it has too much of a "cleaner"-like scent to it for me to enjoy it as a perfume oil. The jasmine comes out as a bit of an undertone so it's not all lemon. Just not for me. I'll pass the frimp along.

    Emma

Tea rose and vanilla bourbon. That's why I wanted this. Unfortunately, it's just not working for me. I think it's the jasmine that is too overpowering on my skin. It turns to baby powder with a bit of rose in the background. The rose comes out more, and I like rose, but there are so many other rose scents that I know I love that this one doesn't seem that special.
  22. CitizenBree

    Josie

Oh Josie, you were supposed to be so perfect. I love honey and peaches. In fact, I can't get ENOUGH peaches. In the imp, it's perfect. so sweet and fruity. and a little bit of floral...it depends on the floral, but i think this magnolia will work. WRONG. oh so wrong. First, I slathered it on because it smelled so good and sweet. Then, the magnolia came out soooooo strong. It was cloying. I won't even keep the imp. I won't wear this again.

    Faith

Got an imp from Janelle_Hell aka the Easter bunny and am so glad I did. first of all, sugar and violet are two of my favorite notes, so how could this go wrong? it couldn't. It is AMAZING. The sugar is more a stand out than the violet, but they just meld together so perfectly. I want to eat it and bathe in it. I want to smell like it everyday. This is the feeling that I look for when deciding whether to buy a bottle or not. None of that "well...maybe." No, this is YES, I MUST BUY. It is in my top 10 for sure.

    Penis Admiration

I bought this one for lilac and vanilla. Love those scents. In the imp, there's an alcoholic scent. like a creamy alcohol, almost like a white russian or something. Once you put it on, it's full on lilac. Every so often, a hint of vanilla comes out. Overall, though, it's mostly lilac for me. I might get this one if it was a GC but not an LE. I will keep the imp and try to see if the vanilla comes out a little later on.

    Unveiled

I thought I would love this scent for the tea, peach and vanilla. Unfortunately, when I first put it on, it smelled just generically perfume-y. Kinda like a cheap floral perfume. But I didn't want to give up. For some reason, when I re-applied later that night, it really bloomed into something much better. Now it is VERY strong tea, with peach in the background. I can see where it was just plain perfume to me...that's probably from the tea. But now that my nose is a bit more clear (little cold here) it's clear to me that it's fruity tea. But where is the vanilla? I don't get it at all. I think I'm going to pass on the bottle, but there's something in the back of my head that thinks I could regret that. I will at least test again when I am definitely over my cold. I wonder if the vanilla would come out with age.
