    Dragon's Reverie

Opium-laced dreams of flame, plunder, power and fury: dragon’s blood resin, poppy, amber and ylang ylang. I think it's becoming evident that dragon's blood and I don't really mix. Which is weird because I do like lilac and it smells like lilac to me. But when i put it on, something else happens. It ends up taking up a very old timey scent, like a grandmother's powder room. With Reverie, it's a bit sweeter and less floral than the other Dragons I've tried. This one also doesn't seem to last as long.

    Hollywood Babylon

In the vial, this smells like very strong candy strawberries. Once on, the vanilla comes out to make a strawberry cream scent, very much like a Strawberry Shortcake doll. Sweet, innocent, childlike, yummy. Seems to last a decent amount of time. This smells really good but it's just not a scent that is really me, right now. I think it is too girly and young. It is more of a summertime scent so I might try it again in July to see what I think.

    Wanda

Along with Loviatar, she has become something of a Patron Goddess of all Dominatrixes, Wanda is the breathtakingly beautiful sable-wrapped marble queen of Sacher-Masoch's fantasies. Her scent is a deep red merlot with a faint hint of leather, sexual musk and body heat over crushed roses, violets and myrtle. In the imp, Wanda is very boozey. This is the first time I've been able to really pick out the ~booze~ in something. It's got that little something that makes the back of your throat tingle. If you like booze, it's a good thing! That scent is coming from the wine, which takes on a very strong purple grape smell. However, that's all somewhat lost once you put on. I can't tell exactly what it is, I think it's just a sweet blend of everything in the description. I kinda get Whip out of this, which makes sense since this has rose and leather also. Whip is much more rosey, while this is more generic floral. It definitely makes me feel sexy though. Sweet musk. I might buy a bottle of this over a bottle of Whip.

    Dragon's Hide

Granted, I usually only read the first and last page of each review, but am surprised to see only one person have the same thought as me...the one just above. This is straight up lilac on both me and my husband. I got it as an imp from the lab to have my husband try and I just wouldn't call this a masculine scent at all. The good news is that I do like lilac and so I might have to try it officially (just tested it on my hand). It has a nice throw -- could smell it waft off my husband every now and then. When I take a really deep sniff, I can get to the smoke, but it's an obscene amount of lilac on the nose before I get to it. and it's not something anyone would get off of me.

    Hellfire

Reading all these reviews makes me REALLY want to try this scent. But wait, I just did. Big ol' frowny face here. I don't get ANYTHING out of this that the good reviews are saying. First off, I smell sweet florals in the imp. What? Ok, ok. Gotta put it on. Bought it for the boy actually so he decided to wear it first. No go. Musky incense-y baby powder. Mostly powder. No leather, no tobacco. Frowny. Maybe he has funky chemistry. Let me try this. Nope. The same. I'll be swapping this.

I love Pink Sugar, can you recommend some BPAL?

Black Lace was almost exactly Pink Sugar on me. Was so happy to discover that. I ordered a bottle. Hope I don't regret not ordering two!

    Black Heart

Sweet grape and sweet pea. Very girly with more of a fruit scent than the floral, but it's there. It's so bright to me. The color I'd give it is light pink. After some time, the honey and vanilla make an appearance. Since there is a sugar aspect to this one, it might be overkill for me to layer with Black Lace, but I think it would go wonderfully with Black Death.

    Black Death

In the imp, all the scents at the end of the description are strong. Clove, lime, orange. I'm thinking i'm not going to like it. But I put it on anyway because I want to see how it tunrs out. On wet...THERE'S the patchouli. Oh yea, I'm really not going to like this. But, I'm too lazy to get up to wash my hands. An hour later...WOW. everything is blended and it's really beautiful. Nothing comes out stronger than any other scent. The clove has added sweetness to the patchouli I think that brings about a nice balanced scent. After what started as disappointment, changed into love. I think i'm going to buy a bottle. I also didn't try layering yet, but I've got the scents on different body parts so I can get a little of the effect and it is going to be wonderful.

    Jezebel

In the imp, Jezebel is honey and fruit. Smells so delicious and sweet. Once it gets on my skin, I think it's the sandalwood that comes out. and then...baby powder. Forever baby powder. The good news (or bad news for me since I don't like baby powder) is that it lasts a long time. I smelled it for the entire night and when I woke up in the morning.

    Black Lace

This scent is just what I had hoped for. This is a BPAL replacement for my Pink Sugar. This is sugared vanilla. Wearing it, more of the muskiness comes out. Booze is the underlying scent both wet and dry. I will be buying a bottle.

    Morocco

Morocco is a lovely, sexy scent that I want to last longer or be stronger. It actually did last a decent time, but it doesn't stay strong. *I* can smell it but not sure everyone else can. It smells like a smoky vanilla but not smoke and not vanilla. That's the feeling I get out of this. It's a very warm scent -- not hot, just comforting. I finally know what people are saying when they feel wrapped up in a scent. This does that for me. There is an underlying incense smell but not harsh, not strong, and not heavy...it's just a perfect balance. [i read some reviews after I wrote this and find it so funny that others have mentioned warm and cozy and vanilla (when vanilla is not in it)]

    What is Chaos Theory?

Sorry to bump an old thread but glad to see some of my Qs were answered here. I do have another Q. why the spoiler text for these when they are for sale? I thought it was someone's mistake at first but now i see it too often. Is it a forum rule to not share your thoughts on these scents without the spoiler text? Is that so the buyer can be a little surprised if they want to be?

    Lady MacBeth

I got this imp as a freebie from the lab -- AFTER I had added it to my wishlist and purchased it from someone on the forum. When I try a scent, I make my own mental notes first and then I read through a few of what other people write to see if i've gotten a scent completely wrong or have that "A HA! that's what it is!" moment. Well I was pretty surprised to see the first page of this scent described as red. I don't often associate scents to colors but this one is PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE. There is no red here at all. Seems like people on the last page are getting more purple than red, so i'm not that crazy. In the imp and going on wet it's very grape-y. I don't get the booze-y layers at all, not even on dry down. What comes out more on dry down are the berries. Frankly, I like fruity scents but i'm more of a peach person than grape so I don't think this is one that I'll get a bottle of, but i will probably keep and enjoy the imp. I've never tried layering before but the other "back up" imp i pulled out today was Viola and that is a lighter purple scent to me (lilacs) so i wonder if they'd work together. on second thought...maybe i should wait until i'm a more experienced sniffer.

    Death Adder

In the bottle, this is very strong vetiver, which I don't like. But I wanted to give it a try on the skin. The vetiver calms downa bit, but starts to smell dusty. The coconut comes out in a bit with a little smokey vanilla in the background. My husband absolutely loves it. I just get it as too dusty.

    Coral Snake (2006)

In the bottle, this is straight cinnamon apple. Smells like my oatmeal breakfast in the morning. As it dries on my skin, it takes on a more sweet apple scent and the cinnamon calms a bit. And that is pretty much the extent of what I smell. This would be a good room scent or candle, but not something I'm interested in wearing as a perfume oil

    The Temptation

Peachy and floral. I love it. It's a really nice floral scent with a small amount of fruitiness to balance it out. Later after drying, the rose comes out more and it's a very fresh rose scent, like smelling a just opened blossom up close. I picture myself wearing this while at the beach. The problem is that it doesn't last that long. I had to reapply at least 3 times throughout the work day, but I kept reaching BACK for this imp instead of trying the back up imp that I brought to test. I want to smell like this all day, but I want others to smell it too and I don't want to have to bathe in it. I will keep the imp definitely but will need more time (and testing) before I decide to buy a bottle of this one.

    Eve

I'm a fan of roses, fruit and honey so Eve was on my wishlist and luckily I found someone clearing their stash. In the imp and wet it's heavy on the apple, barely a rose to it. Smells like a freshly cut apple. As it starts to dry, the rose comes out more but there's still a touch of apple in the background. It is a bright and cheery summer rose scent. I think this could be one to buy a bottle of. I like rose and I like fruit, but I wouldn't have thought they would marry well and I think this does it. I would wear this on a day when I want to feel fresh and feminine. I can picture myself in it at a picnic on a saturday. Not an evening scent.

    Baobhan Sith

This is a scent I ordered, probably for the white tea and apple scents and I wasn't disappointed. It is a very fruity scent. I'm not sure it matches the name or story. It's definitely something I want to smell like in spring/summer, when it's hot and sticky outside. For me, it's heavy grapefruit and apple. On my skin, the apple comes out even more. There's not much floral in it for me, but even though I'm a floral person, I love this. It stays pretty strong but the scent itself is so pleasant and sweet that even if I'm slathered in this is won't be overpowering. I think this might be a bottle. I'd like to wait to try other fruity/citrus scents, but this one keeps compelling me to sniff my wrists.

    London

I love rose scents and while I didn't seek out to buy this imp, was glad to receive it. I may have eventually purchased it myself anyway. Beth is great with her roses, but I'd rather choose the best and stick with it than have several rose scents. London is very heavy rose, but there is a little something extra too it if you really seek it out. Maybe it's the "tea" rose? I don't know for sure. While it's a lovely rose scent, it's not anything more special from the other ones I've tried. Right now I'm loving Zombi and Whip more than this, so one of them will be my purchase for rose, not London.

    Rome

I wanted to love this. I love rose, I love florals, I'm going to Rome. I bought the imp to try. There's really nothing I can say about this except that it went straight up baby powder on my skin. Not one individual note came out. So disappointed. Will not be keeping the imp. Hope it works out better for someone else.

    Baghdad

Another imp I got in a lot. Though the description sounds interesting, it's not one I'd pick up to buy. I get the musk more when it's in the imp and wet, but I think maybe it's the sandalwood that goes straight baby powder on me when dry. The baby powder seems to fade a bit over time to bring out more of what traditional sandalwood smells like but this is still not a scent that I'd seek out wearing. I'm more a floral or foodie type.

    Venice

I love rose and violet and am visiting Venice soon so that is why I purchased this imp. In the imp and on wet it was very heavy violet. A little overpowering but I may have put on too much. As it died down, the rose came out more. I'm fond of violet and rose scents so I liked this one once it died down a bit. After about four hours, it's almost all gone. A powdery scent is present if I sniff really hard. I didn't get any lemon out of my sniffing. I'll keep the imp but not buy a bottle because there are other rose and violet scents that I like more. And I'll probably add more thoughts after I get back from Venice.

    Kyoto

I received this in a lot so it's not any scents that I would seek out to try. The star anise was the first thing to come out of my skin, and really strong. One hour later, and it was all sandalwood. Two hours later, the floral finally starts to come out. Even later, it goes back to sandalwood! I am still a bit new but this was one scent that really changed up the most throughout the day. I liked the scent enough to wear it but since I'm not sold on any of these notes, I'll pass on buying more.

    Al Azif

Strong sweet scent going on and in the vial. Definitely get the maple syrup tones. Can sometimes be a bit too strong when it is wet but after it dries (after I've exercised too), it's very light and delicate. Comes off as a sweet incense. It would probably be something I'd want for an atmosphere scent but not a perfume.

    Alice

A very sweet and delicate scent. To me, it is mixed very well and it's hard to pick out any notes individually. I get creamy florals but not necessarily milk and carnation. On the skin, it smells very doll like, like a plastic strawberry shortcake doll (but not strawberry shortcake and not plastic in a bad way). Just, very child-like. Very much how I'd imagine Alice to smell, I guess. I bought this for the milk and honey and I love rose too. I think this would be great if I was still in school but I just don't think it works as an adult scent on me. It is too "young" and "innocent" for me.
