Interesting~an ethereal coconut blend. The iris reminds me of the orris in Blood Pearl, but it's not as harsh. I smell a little hazelnut and coconut but they are sitting behind the iris. After a few minutes, all I smell is iris and it smells soapy. I was hoping for more coconut.

Pungent aquatic floral in imp and on skin. Like intensely perfumed dryer sheets. Several minutes later...a huge 180 from the initial sniff and application...I smell something like pomegranate, which must be the currants. It's kind of like a more incense-laden version of Lampades now, which is kind of nice. This makes me feel like "I'm nice, but don't p*ss me off". I'll keep the imp, don't need a bottle though.

Lightning makes me long for a beach house. That was my first thought when I smelled this. It's reminiscent of many "ocean" scents I've smelled in perfumes and candles. I barely detected the ozone note because it was overpowered by aquatics, which aren't my friend.

Wow. The perfect caramel scent. I think the musk and teak keep this from being cloyingly sweet just like sea salt makes caramels less toothache inducing. I can smell very faint celery that others have mentioned, but it's barely there and I'm getting mostly caramel apples. As this dries, the honey comes out more. Pure love.

In the vial, gin and strawberry. On my skin, the gin disappears . There's the BPAL cream note, with strawberry. This is so delicious, I smell like a strawberry tres-leches cake. It would be nice if the gin stuck around to give this a little edge but I seriously love this anyway.

White Chocolate, Marshmallow, and Coconut
Gold Dust Kitten replied to jupiternf's topic in Lupercalia
Perfect! My mouth is watering now. It smells like all three notes listed, with an emphasis on the coconut because my skin amps it. I usually dislike foody scents, but there are a few that I can do like Cake Smash, Underpants...and this. So far, this is the third "box of chocolates" scent I've tried and it's the best. -
Now THIS is smut. It's leather, tobacco, and bourbon with a bit of molasses, honey, and skin musk. I need a bottle of this, and a man to slather it on.

Green tea, aquatic, mossy, and a little minty. Interesting blend, but not my style.

I was excited about this because I adore tropical scents. This would be absolutely gorgeous on me if it didn't smell like banana. They are yummy to eat, but the smell makes me ill. This is an intense tropical floral, with orchid and white ginger standing out. I also smell pineapple. If the banana smell was replaced with say...coconut, we'd have a winner.

Pine resins and bergamot. It's not a good combination on my skin. I usually love benzoin, ambrette seed, and massoia bark, neither of which I smell in this blend. It's time for a shower.

Faded drugstore smokey floral. Very depressing. Now it's turning into Pine-Sol.

In the imp and wet on skin, pure juicy pear. Now that it's dry, I smell rose water and gentle Lily of the Valley. It's pretty, but too light for me. This would be nice on a little girl.

I bought a very low partial of this and I'm not feeling it because it doesn't smell like anything but soap. I don't smell any of the wonderful things everyone else gets. A few hours after I put it on, there's a sweet, very faint carnation smell on my skin. Disappointing. OK, giving this another chance...this time I can actually smell the notes. It's a powdery amber carnation with light spice. Very soft and comforting but seductive too. I feel like wearing this while snuggling with a boy on a cold night.

I love neroli but I can't smell it in this blend. I'm on the fence about violet. I'm getting a cucumber smell from this and it morphs from musk and violet to musk and cucumber and back. It's giving me a headache.

I smell a little root beer but it's overwhelmed by the sugary, spicy cloves. It has great throw, but when I sniff up close it smells a little plasticky.

Here's a fuzzy pic of Pomegranate IV:

Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting. I don't usually like foodie perfumes but I snagged a bottle anyway because I'm a Snake Oil fan until I die. It's delicately sweet and spicy. Absolutely amazing.

When I sniffed this in the imp, it smelled like plum candles. It was a sweet plum on my skin, with a little cream and very little florals. I love plum so I'll keep the imp but I don't think I need a bottle.

Bruised Violet Compound
Gold Dust Kitten replied to Leopard403's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
Sniff from imp: Stinky violet perfume. I recognized the violet because it smells like the orris in my Blood Pearl. On skin: Violets, currant and patchouli. I thought this smelled a lot like Lolita Lempicka because of the violet note so I did a side-by-side comparison. BVC smells a lot like LL on the drydown, only LL is sweeter. Eventually the moss note comes to ruin the whole blend. This didn't last long at all, and now I smell like violet soap. -
I opened the bottle and thought "someone swapped out my perfume with almond extract" It reminded me of those marzipan fruits and flowers my mom would put on cakes. It was so intense I could literally taste them. This phase didn't last long...as it dried, the intensity died down to pink cake drenched in sugar syrup. This stayed with my skin for a while, smelling like the usual bpal sugared-skin scent I have at the end of the day.

The scent is very light in the bottle. I smell a boozy pomegranate, star anise and a bit of thyme. When I put it on, I was instantly reminded of Mme. Moriarty, which must be from the red musk. It's barely sweet, I smell a bit of cocoa, and the thyme and tobacco are giving this a masculine vibe. I'm really smelling a lot of thyme. It's not bad, I just expected this to be more sweet. Aldercy...I read your post as I was writing my review and I also noticed the dark sludge at the bottom. I shook it up like crazy and re-opened/applied and it made a huge difference in the scent! It definitely has more of a cocoa smell now, and it made the blend more balanced. All in all, this is a beautifully complex scent. I'm looking forward to wearing it if it ever cools down.

In the bottle, this reminds me of Kali, but with more chocolate. Wet on skin, the bergamot and bitter chocolate take center stage smelling exactly like a dark-chocolate covered orange candy. A few minutes later it starts to smell peppery. The lovely champaca flower is coming out, making my arm smell like a fresh stick of nag champa incense. An hour later, there's a sweet floral smokiness hanging lingering close to my skin. Very interesting blend. <kicks self> Why didn't I buy 2 bottles of this?

Blue Pumpkin Floss reminds me of how much I dislike pumpkin pie. I love pumpkin by itself, but the combination of spices plus sugar makes it overwhelmingly squash-y. I was afraid to put this on because the sniff was intense pumpkin pie (blech!). In hopes of smelling the "candyfloss" and "blackberry", I tried it on anyway. I found out that I amp cinnamon like crazy, because for a while I smelled like I dipped my hand into a vat of Red Hots candy syrup. After about 15 minutes, I'm still smelling a lot of cinnamon but it's a sugary candy-cinnamon, not a candle-cinnamon. Regardless, it's overpowering what miniscule amount of candyfloss and blackberry there might be in this blend. OK...an hour later: Faint cinnamon, and NOW I smell the candyfloss and blackberry. I need to chill, I'm too trigger-happy with reviews.

Wet, this is a gorgeous tropical scent. Initially there's a beautiful warm coconut and a heady mix of tropical fruits. As it dries, I smell something citrusy or tangy, I suppose that's from the pineapple? It didn't last very long, perhaps 4 hours, and now I smell a faint powdery floral on my skin. I suspect this will be completely gone in a few more hours which is sad, because I wanted it to be my holy grail tropical coconut blend.

This was frimped to me by a very sweet person, and of course it's love at first sniff. Lotus tends to be bubblegum sweet and I think the cream, teak and amber are beating it into a golden, creamy vanilla submission. It reminds me of a classier, teak-infused version of Dragon's Milk. It's absolutely perfect on my skin. Must have bottle. Poor bank account...
